Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Thanks to MelanieC for coaching last week and to EeyoresButterfly for coaching this week!

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle is time. When life gets hectic its easier to eat crappy and miss exercising. I have to keep making myself stay focused and continually ask myself "what do I want: to lose weight & be healthier or eat that McD"

Happy to hear that the challenge will be continuing! I've gotten stuck at 10lbs loss and we leave for DL tomorrow morning. I'm hoping when I weigh in again in 2 weeks I'll have a maximum of 5lb gain.

Thank you, coaches, for deciding to continue the challenge. Having this "challenge" to report to each Friday has been great for me. Even though I've lost over 18 lbs so far, it's still not even half of what I hope to lose. I was plateauing for about 2 weeks, but this morning I am down 2 more lbs. I really need this board. Even though I don't post alot, I always read everyone elses posts, and it helps me to see that others have their struggles too. This keeps me motivated...thanks again!:thumbsup2

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

My biggest obstacle is time - When I run out of time to prepare/plan/cook. Then it's super easy to grab whatever or get overly hungry.

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

My biggest obstacle is stress:mad: :scared1:
I am very much the stress eater, and with having school, most times I want to do what's convient, but then my better conscious or willpower kicks in and says NOOO!!!
I'm trying to keep easy thing on hand such as tuna packets, Eggs and wraps, premarinated fish and chicken.

Are we still e-mailing our weights to Brenda or do we start this week mailing to Jessi?

You will continue e-mailing Brenda th weights until the second phase of the challenge which won't begin until March 27.

Everyone, keep up the good work!

We just returned from the World, where even though I tried not to, I gained. :guilty: I know a lot of it was from eating late at night, which I don't do at home. Hopefully, this week will get things back on track.

Thanks to all of our great volunteers/coaches!! Brenda, you have done an absolutely AWESOME job with crunching numbers!!

Thank you, thank you for continuing BL! It's great to come here and read that someone else is experiencing something similar to what you are going through, or to get new ideas for exercise or taking the scale to Disney!! :rotfl:

On to a new week, losers!! :goodvibes Anne

We have converted another!!!! Come over to the Twilightaholics thread on the CB, you will find some interesting book dicussion (and some things you probably didn't bargain for). We would love to have another member of our cult *ahem* fanclub.

I checked out the Twilightaholics threat for a few minutes. You guys are great. I stopped reading after a few pages, though because obviously yall are way ahead of me. I still need to read the other books, and I don't want to learn too much about what happens before I read it for myself, so I will probably stay away from that threat until I catch up:rotfl:

Anyway, I lost 3 pounds this week!

Wow! I admire you for being such a dedicated WISH Biggest Loser to take your scale with you to WDW -- seriously! This is why we need this thread to continue so folks like you can inspire the rest of us.

Ooh- I was thinking about doing that earlier but thought that was maybe too much. I'm gonna now. It's lightweight, small.

Not corn syrup, but there is partially hydrogenated oil:

(Pineapple) Sugar, Dextrose, Pineapple Crystals, Partially
Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Stabilizers (Cellulose, Locust
Bean, Guar, Xanthan, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Sodium Silico
Aluminate, Vegetable Fiber, Citric Acid, Artificial Flavor,
Sodium Caseinate (A Milk Derivative), Mono & Diglycerides,
Sodium Citrate, Salt, Dipotassium Phosphate, Articial Color
Including F.D. & C. Yellow #6.

Calorie wise- it's not too bad, though. 1/2 cup = 70 calories and .5 grams of fat. Of course Disney doesn't sell 1/2 cup servings, but even so, it's no Haagen Daas or even a Mickey bar.

Ah well, I'll just limit myself to one :-)

Yay I lost my last pound! 20 pounds---I really didn't think I could do it. No More Back Pain. This is awesome thanks guys.:yay:

Julie could not coach this week due to computer issues, so I will be coaching instead.

At this time, I would like to make an announcement:

Biggest Loser Central has been talking, and we have decided to continue the challenge. Brenda has done an incredibly amazing job, but she is kind of burned out at the moment. Therefore, I will be in charge of the second part of our BL7 challenge. Details are still in the works and will be posted soon. if you have questions/ideas/or would like to help please feel free to PM me.

I hope everyone is having a fanatastic week! Please don't forget to send in your weights to Brenda.

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

That's awesome! Thank you for continuing it!
I'm just wondering how I'll find you to PM you the weight each week. :rotfl: I've always gone back to the original post and clicked to send pm to Brenda... I hope I can find you so I can get my weight in each week! LOL

Thanks again!

thanks for continuing this! Although I'm not doing great w/my weight loss I'm also not gaining, which I'm sure I would be if wasn't for this challenge. I think about having something and then remember this and make a better choice. :)

I did lose .2 pounds this week - I'm taking it! Do we still send to dare2dream?

My biggest obstacle I think is me - it's too hard, boring, I want something spicy, I'm not losing weight fast enough or at all, I'll never do it. I want some chips and I'm having them. How do I overcome it? Honestly I don't know. It's a mindset, I know. I do really well and then...I don't.

I do have to say...I've had a avery very stressful last few weeks, the last week or so I'm slowly getting back to normal and I actually feel better. I couldn't walk or do my exercise tapes b/c of my foot and I was in bed by 8:30 every night! When I watched BL and Mandy (?) gained, and Bob was shocked but said stress does weird things to your body, I felt like it was "okay" the way I've been. It completely changed my outlook from "what's wrong with me?" to "I can already see I'm getting more energy, and getting more patience" etc. Plus when I realized how much stress impacts your body I started taking my B12! :)

So glad you found some insight into the stress related factors that affect weight loss. So no more of "what's wrong with me"!!! I think we put too much stess on ourselves and that makes a difference as well, we have too much stress in our lives, why do we add more? Hope that your weeks get better and your stress decreases significantly.

This is me exactly!:lmao: I just give in to tempation too easy!

To the organizing team, thanks for continuing. It does not appear I will make my 12 pound goal (unless I don't eat for the rest of the month!:lmao: ) So I am adjusting to 8 pounds. That means I need to lose 1.5 over the next two weeks. Of course I am out of town the ENTIRE time, but did book a Residence Inn so I have a full kitchen which should help!

I missed BL this week, but based on what I read I may just skip the rest of the season. Some of the behavior seems out of line and I figure high ratings reward NBC for stupdity! (Plus I am really into Dancing with the Stars!:woohoo: )

Thanks MelanieC for coaching and thanks Eeyore's Butterfly for taking on the job this week. And thanks, most of all, to everyone who is going to help keep this challenge going for another few weeks! I really need it!

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

My biggest obstacle is me. Me not planning, me letting stress get to me, me not exercising and me just not doing what I should. That said, I have been working hard on my new habits and am starting to see some serious results so I am overcoming my obstacles, in spite of myself!

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

For me, I think the biggest obstacle is complacency. I do really well when I'm focused and with the program. However, when I start with the uncounted bites of food or have a day or two of not counting what I'm eating at all, or start to think "I'm lookin' pretty good now," or go on vacation and say "I'm only here for a little while - I might as well enjoy the food, and I've lost so much alread" That is when the losses stop for me, and even start heading the other direction. :sad2:

I am so glad to see that the challenge is going to keep going! This has really kept me going longer than I have in quite a while. I haven't done this good at watching my weight and loosing weight in a couple years.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I haven't ate much today. I have actually been reading too much. I started New Moon last night and just finished it a little while ago. Now i better get to the :laundy: It is still waiting on me!

Hello Everyone! I haven't had time to post as much as I want for awhile now, but wanted you all to know that I still read all your posts as often as I can and you all are VERY inspiring! I'm very happy that we are all continuing on until May - I really love the big thread!

I've missed some QOTD, so I'll try to reply to this week's:

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney? I really haven't tried to eat healthy at WDW or anywhere else for that matter, which is one of the reasons that I'm here. I will be more conscious of what goes into my mouth this year when I'm there.

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing? This is a hard one for me. My favorite park is AK, but there's nothing like being on Main Street USA first thing in the morning and seeing the castle again!

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course? I'm not doing as well as I originally planned, but I am down almost 10 pounds in the 7 weeks I've been part of the Challange. And I'm down 24 pounds since mid-Dec., which is amazing to me! I've never stayed so focused before and am very surprised w/ myself for still being dedicated to the cause! :)

My biggest obstacle is me. Me not planning, me letting stress get to me, me not exercising and me just not doing what I should. That said, I have been working hard on my new habits and am starting to see some serious results so I am overcoming my obstacles, in spite of myself!

This is me completely! I couldn't have said it better! I did buy a treadmill last weekend and have been on it 6 of the last 7 days. I'm actually enjoying it! Now I can finally start training for that 1/2 Marathon next year!

Hope everyone has a very successful week!!
