Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

**I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

**If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

**If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain.

These last two items really drove me crazy this week. I am really trying to be fair to everyone.

And now what you really wanted to see.

More losers not checking in this week. I do worry about them. Some of them have been very faithful participants. This concerns me. Why would they leave when we are so close to the end. Or are we close to the end??

My DIS NBC insider has confirmed to me that the last episode of the BL TV show will be three hours on Tuesday, May 12. That means the TV show will go for another 6 weeks than what we expected in December when this challenge was organized. Biggest Loser Central is in the planning stages of what to do next to finish out the BL TV season until May12.

Now is the time to voice your opinions of our WISH BL7 challenge. What did you like? What didn't you like? What would you like to see in the future? Can you help out? Please post, PM or email your thoughts to me. Biggest Loser Central is made up of unpaid volunteers that work tirelessly to make this fun for you. The more volunteers we have the less work for each person.

How was your week? Were you a superstar? Why or why not? Only you know the answer to that. This is a lifestyle change. We are here to live healthier lives. We are here to change habits. How are you doing? It's worth the effort. Remember the old saying 'nothing tastes as good as being thin feel'. You know it is true. Get to work superstar!

This challenge has been awesome for me and fun. I would have never watched the show if it weren't for this and it's interesting. I have repeatedly expressed my feelings for the volunteers- it's amazing how together, smart fun and patient you all have been.

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

This is me on January 16:
Over the next 12 weeks (or what is it now? 10?) I would like to have a goal of 12 pounds

As of last week's weigh in (9.9 pounds lost, total), I think I am on track. Before I say, that I should probably have asked......How many more weeks do we have? It's a start on my longer term goal, and I have found the weekly weigh-in to be so helpful. I agree that a lot of success comes with journaling. Fortunately, and unfortunately, that is what seems to make all the difference for me. I say unfortunately because it does seem to be something that is incredibly easy to get tired of or get complacent about. But I say fortunately because I have realized that however much of a pain it is, however much I think I maybe don't have to do it today or this week, it is always within my power. Right now I am thinking of it this way: There is this one slightly annoying thing that if I can manage to do it every day forever, I won't have to be fat anymore. I'm doing my best to get that thing done and so far it is paying off. :thumbsup2

Thanks again to everyone who is here and who was here. This thread has been great all along!

And I think it would be great to either continue or start an additional challenge to coincide with the season.

I have not gotten to watch last night's episode - technical difficulties. We can record it on Saturday, though.

ETA - oh man! I look like such a poseur with my 10lb WISH ribbon when I just said I'd lost 9.9 lbs. That ribbon is counting from Jan 1 rather than the day I joined the challenge.

There is an article on Time.com talking about how people who journal lose twice as much. It's working for me!

Thanks for the inspiration to journal. I too see a huge difference when I journal, yet haven't done too well lately. I just got home from chili's and though I had a margarita and about 1/4th of the molten chocolate lava cake, I ate the guiltless gourmet veggie burger with steamed vegies instead of the fajitas, I did write it all down, checked the points on dwlz.com, and accounted for it with my flex and activity points. I know I can do it.

It's also very inspiring to hear how successful everyone has been during this challenge. Good work, losers!!!!!:cheer2:

How cool is that? I am the biggest loser this week!!!! That was one of my goals for this challenge. :woohoo: Congrats to all of the biggest losers!

I tend to like the big long thread, at first it is hard to keep up, it is such a great group right now!!! :grouphug:

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

I actually find it very hard to eat healthy at WDW. I end up having a lot of junk and feel kind of yucky toward the end.

Hey everyone - Here are two video's from my DD17's cheer competitions that they won -plus got grand champs for.
Wow, those are great!:cheer2:
Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I would be on SplashMountain!!!! My entire family loves that ride, and it is so "disney"!

Now for the good news: I had a second phone interview with the school in Nashville and they are considering me for a position that was not even on the website in addition to the one I applied for. I think that I have a decent shot at this!
That is GREAT NEWS!!!! Wishing you lots of luck!:teacher:

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Linda and have sent a message to Brenda about joining your group even though it is so late.I do need some motivation(competition) to get this party started.

My scale has been stuck at 165 for so long, even training for and doing the full marathon this past January did not move a lb.

I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and all I can say is WOW!

As of this a.m. I am finally moving that scale- 162 today.I know we aren't supposed to report until Friday but I am so happy I had to share.

Linda
Welcome Linda!!!! So great you could join us! And wonderful news that the scale is moving! YEAHHHH!

Hey everyone - Did anyone else notice that the teams on BL7 are going home next week? I'm lost. I thought they stayed till 3 ppl were left?? There are still a lot there. .

I know, I was surprised, I completely started crying when the 2 brothers were together. THe Biggest Loser is such an incredible opportunity, I hope the other brother gets motivated.

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

I guess I am doing prettty good. I don't remember what my initial goal was, so that is something I need to revisit. OK, so I just went back and looked at my goal: My goal for these 12 weeks is to loose 25# AND to not eat at Mcdonalds. I am giving up McDonalds for 100 days so I can get a jumpstart. It is my big weakness.

OH MY GOSH!!!!! As of my last weigh in I am down 23#!!!! I can hardly believe it, I have set goals for myself before, but I never followed through with them, this is the first time! YEAH ME! :woohoo:

THANKS for posting this question, it made me realize how close I am to making that goal. :cheer2:

I vote for continuing on! :thumbsup2 Even when I've had a gain, I like the accountability of reporting in. I enjoy reading about other's successes and struggles .:cool1:
This is the first BL thread I've done, and I like the giant thread; it was a bit overwhelming in the beginning, but there seemed to be quite a few people that would join in even up until now. (WELCOME MOMto2MINNIES
I'd be happy to volunteer in some way. (after I get back from DL so after March 26th) :goodvibes
I was enjoying the COW, but completely understand that Raenstoirm couldn't keep it up with all the struggles in her real life. I like tracking data, so I'd be happy to help out there in the future is others want to help out with challenge add-ons (and tell me how to score it); but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, if someone more experienced wants to do that.

Last week was not a good one for me. I'm at a loss of only 10lbs which after reading leleluvsdis post, I'm now thinking of it as having lost a big bag of flour, which seems pretty good to me. (THANKS LELELUVSDIS!)

ok, now where is the Bengal BBQ??

In DL, next to the Indian Jones store. Very delicious!:thumbsup2

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

nope, I've realized that with everything I've had on my plate, my goal wasn't realistic, so I've just extended the deadline for myself. I still need to work on avoiding the junk food (am doing better) and getting in enough exercise (I think there will always be room for improvement).

To wrap up this long post. I have really enjoyed the thread, and while I'm only half way to my goal for the challenge, I am happy to report, that I feel that I've been making changes that are maintainable and am learning lots. Thanks to everybody involved! I really appreciate how inviting and supportive everybody on the thread is :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

QOTD:

This challenge has been kind of weird for me. After weigh in last night I looked at my total lost from when I started and it was one stinking pound. I gain, take two or three weeks to lose it, maybe lose a little bit more, repeat. At this point, I'm just happy that as tired as I've been and with all the issues I've had this semester I have lost a pound, that's better than maintaining or gaining. I'm excited about a rejuvenation of the challenge as I think that will help me get back on track!

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?
I'm pretty much on track although I did gain some weight (had to be water and maybe some muscle? I did have some busy days when I didn't drink enough water and doing lots of walking, some on wii fit, etc.) but then lost it again so I'm kinda going a bit slower than I'd hoped... but hopefully I can keep going and reach my goal(s)!
There have been a few times when I was "this" close to having a cheat day since I wasn't cheating and the scale was climbing up but then it started going down again. NOt sure what that was about- but just glad I got past that point before cheating. LOL

There is an article on Time.com talking about how people who journal lose twice as much. It's working for me!
I know journaling helps me (but I do it on fitday). I was even able to go back there all the way back to 2002-2003 and read my old journals, how I lost the weight then, what I ate each day, etc. So not only journaling now, but my journal from the past, is helping quite a bit. :)

ps. I'm not even watching that show. was I supposed to be? I never have. LOL

Good Morning Carla has been missing for the last few weeks and so has the COW. Carla is is unable to continue to do the COW for this challenge so I have picked it up. We are going to start where we last left off. It is is the same as when Carla was running it.

COW Week 3/13

This week you need to….

Drink 8 cups of water a day
Eat 3 servings of veggies a day
Walk 5,000 steps a day ~about 2.5 miles depending on your stride
(the goal is 10,000 a day ~5 miles, but we will start slow. If you make 10,000 by all means let me know!)
Eat 2 servings of fruit a day

This is where we ended. I am adding on the following

Take 5 minutes each day to do something for yourself. Read a book, knit, meditate, do your nails

Here is a refresher of the COW rules in case you are new or forgot. I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 20th, although I recommend you pm it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)
If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

So here is how this version will work. Every Thursday I will post a new task to add to the previous tasks. This should help you establish good habits during this BL. I got this idea from the 12 days of Christmas song actually. So,

Week 1 all you need is the partridge and the pear tree
Week 2 you will need the turtle doves and the partridge
Week 3 you need the French Hens, turtle doves and partridge
And it goes on

So this week you will report...
I drank my 8 cups X days
I ate my veggies X days
I walked 5,000 steps X days
I ate fruits X days
I did something for myself X days
Or if you are really good, I walked 10,000 steps X days!

Good luck everyone.

Thanks Dona for taking over the Cow. :flower3:
:grouphug: Carla, hope things start to get better for you real soon. Take care.

Let's try this again...I had my reply typed, went to post and lost internet connection:badpc: .

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

I have lost 10.5 so far and know it would be more if I had not gotten slack with the exercise. I really need to pick it up. We found a Wii Fit w/board last night, had been looking for a while but everyone seemed to be out of them and they are going for so much $ on Ebay, I just wasn't getting it. So, that is my goal for the day, to get it all set-up and hope that it will help fill in when we can't get a walk in outside.

Carla - Hope things get better for you real soon.

Dona - Thanks for getting the COW back up again. I need that incentive to get in my veggies/fruit. I do most days but this will help for those off days.

I like the one big thread. Yes, I agree it is a bit overwhelming at first but love how you get to know everyone. I felt that with the teams, you only got to know those on the team with you and not the whole group. Also with the teams, I felt that once they got so small, it was a little discouraging that so many had dropped. I'm sure that we have approx the same number to drop on the big thread but we still have a good group left. I'm also open to go until May although some of that time I will be back in WDW but will just take my scale and it will help keep me in check.

I missed a few qotd's If you could transport yourself to Disneyland right now where would you be? I'd be riding Dumbo :goodvibes
Healthiest place in Disneyland--dunno it's been 10 years since we've been there, I would hope a Dole Whip wasn't too terrible for you though. Please tell me the dole whips do not have high fructose corn syrup...

Not corn syrup, but there is partially hydrogenated oil:

(Pineapple) Sugar, Dextrose, Pineapple Crystals, Partially
Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Stabilizers (Cellulose, Locust
Bean, Guar, Xanthan, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Sodium Silico
Aluminate, Vegetable Fiber, Citric Acid, Artificial Flavor,
Sodium Caseinate (A Milk Derivative), Mono & Diglycerides,
Sodium Citrate, Salt, Dipotassium Phosphate, Articial Color
Including F.D. & C. Yellow #6.

Calorie wise- it's not too bad, though. 1/2 cup = 70 calories and .5 grams of fat. Of course Disney doesn't sell 1/2 cup servings, but even so, it's no Haagen Daas or even a Mickey bar.

Hey guys!

I have had to catch up for the week, I started reading Twilight Mon. night and haven't been on the computer since. All my free time has been spent reading. It was an amazing book. I expected it to be good, but it far exceeded my expectations.

Anyway, I have been doing pretty good this week. I think I will have lost tomorrow. We will see when I weigh.
:thumbsup2

Julie could not coach this week due to computer issues, so I will be coaching instead.

At this time, I would like to make an announcement:

Biggest Loser Central has been talking, and we have decided to continue the challenge. Brenda has done an incredibly amazing job, but she is kind of burned out at the moment. Therefore, I will be in charge of the second part of our BL7 challenge. Details are still in the works and will be posted soon. if you have questions/ideas/or would like to help please feel free to PM me.

I hope everyone is having a fanatastic week! Please don't forget to send in your weights to Brenda.

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

We have converted another!!!! Come over to the Twilightaholics thread on the CB, you will find some interesting book dicussion (and some things you probably didn't bargain for). We would love to have another member of our cult *ahem* fanclub.

Good Morning everyone,
Started this "again" on March 4th and have lost 2.8 lbs so far. Thanks Jillian Michaels! She is a motivator for sure.

Friday's QOTD:
My biggest obstacle to losing weight is snacking at night probably. It is usually easier to overcome it when the nicer weather gets here because there is less time in front of the TV vs being outside in the evening.

Come on SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda

Wow! I admire you for being such a dedicated WISH Biggest Loser to take your scale with you to WDW -- seriously! This is why we need this thread to continue so folks like you can inspire the rest of us.

When we were at WDW for two weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I took my scale for the previous BL and it really helped me keep things in check. I ate what I wanted, I was just more aware of my portions, drank lots of water and tried to eat more of the fresh salads, etc. I didn't lose while we were away but I didn't gain anything.

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

Staying consistent with exercise. We just got the Wii Fit so I'm hoping that will help when I can't get outside for the walks.

Thanks Melanie for coaching this past week and thanks to Jessi for taking over this week.

Thanks MelanieC for a great week of coaching and WELCOME Eeyores Butterfly!
Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

Hmmm, it would definitely be my mindset. There are times when "someone" else takes over my body and mind, and all of a sudden I am overeating and "I" don't care. It is weird. I know it is me that is doing it, but something "snaps" and I just start eating, I can justify it, rationalize it, just do it, I feel as if I am not even THINKING, it is just a reaction to something and BAM I am eating, and eating and eating. And then afterward, probably about 1/2 hour all of a sudden I realize what I have done, but I can't take it back. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THAT PROBLEM????
How to get over it? I think the best thing that I can do, is remove myself from any food areas. I am going to try that and see how that works, as long as I can get myself to listen to my head and not the "other person".

That said, I maintained this week, which isn't bad considering that big loss I had last week. I am so excited that the weather is going to be warming up around here. I have been craving getting outside and going for walks, but with winchills in the teens, I was being a baby and not going out. I think I need to change my mickey antena topper (it is still a snowman) and bring out something more "springlike".

Have a great week everyone!
