Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Question of the Day -

What Websites do you use or visit to help you with your new lifestyle?

This one! I've found this thread very helpful. I've browsed at a couple other websites suggested by fellow disers, but I don't regularly visit any other ones.

Question of the Day -

What Websites do you use or visit to help you with your new lifestyle?

I use sparkpeople.com (for tracking calories & I do like some of the team discussions there) and toscareno.com (Clean eating) the most.

I gained .6 this week. I've not been posting regularly like I should, but for the most part I've been eating ok. Weekends have been my downfall since I've had so many cheer competitions. I had one dinner out this weekend and the rest was OP, so I did better. I need to kick this in gear this week and actually post a loss past where I've been. I need to lose a few before my trip to Disney on 3/20 - I'm in such a rut.

Question of the Day -

What Websites do you use or visit to help you with your new lifestyle?

Oh, great question. I've got a few, because one of the things that helps me a lot is to do some healthy lifestyle related reading (or obsessing...) every day.

I track my food and activities on weightwatchers.com , so I am there anyhow and they have some great articles that are, I believe, free for everyone to read. Including this one Measures to Help Improve Weight Loss. A new favorite of mine.

I could not manage without Dottie's Weight Loss Zone.

I have also found great reading on Sparkpeople.com, as has been mentioned before.

And I found this one a few months ago that has lots of handy gadgets and articles Shape Up America!

Hang in there, MelanieC - ruts are tough, for sure, and it sounds like you're feeling pretty exhausted. This is maybe a dumb question from a mom of two boys - how much longer does the cheer competition season go?

When will all the drama end? I found out today that my Institutional Review Board application got denied for get this- a problem with an optional consent form. Since my Master's Research is a regular classroom activity the consent form was option, I just needed a letter. I used the consent template from the IRB website thinking that it was overkill but there was no way they could deny it, boy was I wrong.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Tennessee. I did talk to the principal of the first choice school in Kansas City, and he indicated they may be sticklers about the 2 year prior experience requirement even though he told me this summer that would not be a requirement this year. I emailed him back explaining about my program and the experience I have. I'm waiting to hear back from him and a few other schools.

I've been feeling sick to my stomach and had no plans to stay all day at school. But my mentor teacher's son was sick so I ended up subbing for her all day. It was a crazy day since our para had her baby early and we couldn't find the life skills stuff. It is the para that takes care of that so I know nothing about it but the sub was looking to me for things to do. I'm glad this day is over.

At this point I'm not even counting points. I'm just trying to make it through the day.

The people were not nearly as supportive as the people here. I've received several rude and nasty replied from the members, enough that I wanted to just give up this whole thing.
I think we have all been spoiled by the DIS. I have been on other sites and can not believe how rude & negative people are compared to the posters on this site.

bad weekend -- bad ohMom -- beer, Grippos pretzels, BBQ dinner out......bad me
That was yesterday. Today is today. All you can do now is make good choice NOW and not dwell on what happened yesterday.

I agree this is a great board.

I have used sparkpeople but I haven't heard of toscareno. I will hve to go check it out now.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Try to keep a positive out look. If one thing doesn't work out that just means something better is around the corner. And remember making bad food choices won't change what is going on.

It's not so much making bad food choices as just concentratin on what I can eat that will not make me feel sick at the moment.

Molli, you can overcome that guilt with no problem. I have full confidence in you!

Jessi, it is a stressful time for you. Take it one day, one hour, or even one minute at a time. My fingers are crossed for you (and darn it, it's hard to type!) Getting into teaching is a difficult task (at least in Canada) right now, but I still have hope for those that stick with their dreams. DD will be in your position next year, and my youngest wants to teach, too, someday. It's a tough job, but so rewarding to those who are a good fit. I love my job! And I wouldn't give it up for anything! (except maybe a lottery that would make me-and my family-set for life! :rotfl: )

Stay the course, everyone. Biggest Loser is on tonight . . .and tomorrow! Gotta remember that!

I do weight watchers too, and love Dotties weight loss zone. I use it mostly for figuring out points when we are going to eat out, or already have. It's just easier than guessing, and it's so easy to guess low.
I use the ww site for recipes, and usually when I want to find a low cal recipe, I'll google low cal- whatever- and end up with lots of choices. Usually cooks. com.

:grouphug: Hugs to Julie, Eeyore's butterfly on your struggles. I hope things all workout for you soon.

I got called in to work early, so I only have a sec. I'm eating better, and exercising, and will hope to lose what I gained over the weekend by friday. I need to have a really good on program weekend and that should kick me into gear. This weekend, my son is going to a hotel-waterpark with my brother and family, so I have no excuses.

Have a great day everyone.

thanks guys for all the encouragement --

i have discovered a new class I like, it's a 30 min spinning class but most of all it's at a great time slot for my schedule. DD and I went yesterday --hoping to hit Wed as well. I also registered for the Cincinni Fly Pig 1/2 marathon on May 3 so starting next week I will have a specific workout routine to follow. I signed up for 1500 mins on the Feb challenge and have only hit about 855 as of now. pooh. But it has got me going more than once --

 Eeyor'e butterfly -- hang in there, maybe a short walk or some light exercise will help produce those stress-relieving endorphins. i'm sure it's the last thing on your mind now, just putting it out there for you

QOTD -- i'll be honest I don't go to any other site. as it is I wish i had more time for the WISH board ;) i've caught the Facebook bug, and I've been obsessing over checking WDW reservations in hopes to upgrade our June stay to club level at AKL. which apparently is next to impossible as everyone else in the world has noticed that there isn't much cost difference between a Savannah view and club level. urgh. yesterday afternoon i caught availablility on the website, by the time i got through the intro questions and info input on the automated part of the call -- it was gone. can you believe that....GONE! i feel guilty b/c we are sooo blessed and thrilled to be staying at AKL and i'm embarassed that upgrading has taken up so much of my energy and time. i know you guys understand....us Disney people..jeesh ;)

Hugs to everyone who is having struggles right now.:grouphug:

QOTD: I basicly come here to WISH, I do also check out Dottie's weight loss zone for the inspriational stories. Lots of times I go to youtube and start looking for weight loss stories. love seeing those. But that's about it.

I'm going to go check out some of those websites that corinnak listed.

Molli....... is the Flying Pig half a timed race?
