Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Hey everyone, I am feeling better! I did OK at the mexican restaurant yesterday. I decided to try something new. Have no idea what it is called but my oh my, was it interesting! I had some sort of mixed up grilled chicken and shrimp cooked with onions and CACTUS!!! That was a very interesting flavor, can not describe it for the life of me. Good to try once, but never again. So is cactus considered a veggie???:confused3 :rotfl:

I don't know my calories from yesterday, certain I went over with mexican restaurant, cake and pizza for dinner. but wouldn't you know the scale budged this morning! Kind of ironic. I know that I am not where my dietician wants me, and still the scale finally went down. It reenergized me and I am about ready to go for a long walk. even though it is cold outside.

did anyone see that new BL book that comes out Tuesday? It's a 30-day jump start program and is supposed to be the same program the at-home 1/2 of the couples used.

Oh my gosh, I didn't see that but I am going to be hitting the store Tuesday night, or Wed. I am on call, so maybe I will send DH out. I am on call 3 days this week! YUCK!

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better now...gg on your workout too. Maybe you need to hide some of your snacks so you have them in a pinch.

I have thought about how to hide the snacks from the kids, but yet I don't want them to see me "hording" the food either, I don't think that is wise. What do you guys do about making sure you have snack available for you before your kids and DH eat them up?

Hey. I've been really afraid since looking at the scale this week that I will automatically gain back at least a pound this week because it's been a long time since I was this weight- seems too good to be true...Thing is though I got a free movie ticket with the Regal Rewards program so I have to lose at least a pound this week to see another movie before the academy awards Sunday. Lol. I will be the Jared of Regal Cinemas.

5 Things that make me smile: Top of my head- no particular order

1.My 8 month old kitten doing anything, (he was a feral we bottle fed) some particular antics include jumping in my pants when sitting on the toilet (lol) and grabbing my leg with both arms when I'm walking by.

2. Seeing the scales numbers down

3.Acquiring the latest Stephen King.

4.Remembering my daughters in college (you have no idea)

Good Monday Morning. Happy President's Day everyone.

Sorry I was not around this weekend. I spent Sat working on costumes for the local high school musical which opens in less than 2 weeks and Sunday I went to church and then had to go to a nursing home to give out communion. After that I went with a girlfriend to a quilt shop to pick up some thread and some fabric. I was looking at a new sewing machine b ut that is not going to happen because we still own tuition for this semester. It was strange because someone told me that the machine was not there on Sat but was on Sunday. When I asked the price it was a lot less than I thought it was going to be and the numbers happened to be the same as my birthday.

I woke up early on Sat morning and developed a migrain. I know that for me if I get the right aspirin and some caffeine in me I may not get rid of it all but I can function. It was really pretty comical to see me searching the pantry for tea with caffeine NONE and the frig for soda with caffeine NONE. I ended up eating some chocolate chips and a cup of cocoa. It is still slightly there but I expected that. It takes a couple of days for it to go away completely. BUt I also think it is part of a virus. Last night my stomach was all messed up and it still is this morning. Well at least I have the day off.

I am going to go grocery shopping and then put something in my crockpot for dinner. I plan to spend the day doing my laundry, quilting and knitting. DS1 is home because he doesn't work on MOnday and dh is planning on making some overdue phone calls. It should be a fun day.

QOTD-Sunday - What are 5 things that make you smile??
1. dh
2 ds's
3 a great sunrise or sunset
4 my backyard in the summer when the shade takes over the yard
5 solving a great math problem

Have a great day everyone.

QOTD-Sunday - What are 5 things that make you smile??

It's been fun reading what makes each of you smile this morning :goodvibes .

I posted the question and then didn't have a chance to get back on the computer yesterday...so here are mine, also in no particular order:

1 - Booking our next Disney trip
2 - Watching my kids have fun
3 - Knowing we are going to my favorite Mexican place for dinner
4 - When my hubby tells me he loves me
5 - Hitting a mini goal on the scales

Well, I'm up a tiny bit this week, but it's pretty insignificant so I'm not concerned about it. I know I didn't exercise enough, and I indulged in a couple things I knew I shouldn't have. I just hate when I'm right at the brink of going below a certain point on the scale (I call it the next decade down), and it doesn't want to budge! This will be a better week though.

I exercised right away when I got up this morning. I have to go to my nephew's b-day party today, but we're having a turkey dinner, so there will be some healthy choices available.

Every week isn't going to be a loss but it sounds like you know what you need to do and I'll be you see the scale move in the downward position this week. Stay positive and focused!!!:cheer2:

Loved your list of 5 things :rotfl2:

Have to say that I've never had cactus either and probably wouldn't have been brave enough to try it.

We don't hide snacks, etc. from the kids either...increasing the amount that you purchase or find a snack that you like that they aren't crazy about maybe one way around it. It is tough because you want them making healthy snack choices too. There are certain crackers that I like that the kids don't care much for so that helps on that one for me. I know you'll find a way for it to work!!:thumbsup2

Don't be afraid use it as your motivator this week to not let those pounds back on your body. :cheer2: You can do it!!!

Aaron is still sick. At this rate I may not get to see him at all and I don't know when the next time I will get to see him is. I'm afraid it might no be until April.

:grouphug: There is so much sickness going around right now...hang in there and keep focused. Since you aren't able to see him maybe use it as a time to do something for yourself. I sure hope he gets well soon.

WOW, you were a busy one over the weekend...glad the migrain is not hanging around too long, have heard they are really rough to shake once they set in. Could the sewing machine price is the sign for maybe a great birthday gift??;)

Sounds like you have a great day planned too.

Good morning losers:laughing: , saying that in the most loving of ways:lmao: .

I had a pretty good weekend, kept eating under control, got my water in and got some good exercise in. I'm really working for a loss this week.

Have lots on the plate today...FIL's computer stopped working yesterday so have to go back over and try to figure it out. Can't afford to lose the information since it has the business stuff on it. I will get the kids going with their school work before I head over to tackle that. I also need to finish getting my tax stuff together. Those are the two things I'm focusing on, if I get them checked off, I'll move on to the next.

I found out this weekend that there is a chance that my brother (serving in Afghanistan) may be coming home a couple of weeks earlier than they thought. This means that if all goes well, he will be home for the birth of his baby:cool1: :cool1: .

Need to get moving for the day. Here is today's question:

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

I would hire a chef that would sit down with our family, help plan our menu for the week, do the grocery shopping, preparing the meals and cleaning up afterwards!!!:thumbsup2 Not asking too much do you think:confused3 ?

hi guys!! where do the days go???

i just remember to WI overdue from last friday -- i'm still maintaining

QOTD -- a housekeeper no doubt about it!

hope everyone is well, i hope to stay in touch more this week!

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

No doubts about it, I would hire someone to do laundry :laundy: I absolutly despise folding laundry. Washing drying, hanging up, I don't mind, but if I have to fold. I will have 3 or 4 stacked up before I fold them. Did I mention how much I hate folding laundry?! :headache:

It was a busy weekend for me. We went and sawy the High School Musical Ice Show. DD7 and DD(almost4) completely loved it! Then a big family dinner with my side. We spent the night with my parents. So DH and I got to sleep in a little bit, because the kids were busy with my parents :cool1: And then some shopping to try to find a new bed for youngest DD who turns 4 this week. It time to get her out of the toddler bed.

TammyNC - I hope your brother is able to make it home for the birth of his baby. :goodvibes

Now its time to catch up on the QOTD:

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite healthy snack right now? I'm always looking for something different to have but sometimes get stuck in a rut. So thought it would be fun to hear what others are enjoying.

A cold glass of skim milk and a spoonful of peanut butter.

QOTD-Sunday - What are 5 things that make you smile??

1 - DD's
2 - DH
3 - memories of grandmother
4 - remembering fun parts of any Disney trip
5 - When I tried on a bikini this weekend and the size L fit! I still wouldn't wear it in public, but I've seen people looking worse out in public. And I can see progress!

of course, some days DD's and DH are really good at removing smiles :lmao: :lmao:

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

Someone to come and do the laundry (at least fold it, I'm great at washing, drying, but don't get around to folding), and do the cleaning (dusting, floors, bathrooms)

Here's an easy snack for 4 pts, if anybody gets cravings for fresh chocolate cake.

Microwave Cake in a cup

A microwave safe cup, 12 ounces or around that.
Cooking spray

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons flour
1 &1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
A pinch of salt
2 tablespoons skim milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon oil
Spray your cup with cooking spray, just enough to coat the cup. In a bowl(I mixed it in the cup), mix together all your ingredients and stir well. Now pour this batter into your cup.
Put the cup in the microwave and cook it on full power for 60 seconds. Depending on the power of your microwave, and your altitude (go figure) you may have to cook the cake longer. Only cook in additional 15 second intervals, because an overcooked cake is no good, and it's even worse because you're microwaving it.
Once your cake is finished, it should be nice and fluffy. Now to serve it.

Take a plate and a butter knife, and gently turn your cup over, letting the cake slide out of the cup. Guide it with soft presses of the butter knife, and once it's out, set the cup aside to be washed.

*This one doesn't boil up out of the mug.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite healthy snack right now? I'm always looking for something different to have but sometimes get stuck in a rut. So thought it would be fun to hear what others are enjoying.

My favorite right now has been raw almonds.

Good Day fellow losers.

My favorite would be 94% ff popcorn.

I'm with you Tammy! I eat so much healthier if the food is prepared for me than if I have to shop for it and prepare it myself! Cleaning the kitchen is supposed to be DH's job, but I still have to help out with that some in addition to all of my own jobs around the house. I'd love for those things to be taken care of for me! Just sit down at the table at 5:30 and have dinner served to me, that would be great!

Jennz,

If your parents have a small step stool, or stairs in their house, you can do some basic step exercises. I've even used a thick phone in some hotel rooms.

Plastic water bottles (500mL) size make great hand weights. You can partly empty them if they feel too heavy. Hold them and practice some boxing moves (alternate hands punching forward) gets the heart rate up, especially if you keep your arms at shoulder height.

I'm crappy at pushups, so do wall pushups instead of regular ones, and those can be done anywhere.

You can do it!

Thanks, Shannon for the great easy exercise ideas!!!!!

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

I would hire someone to clean my venetian blinds! They are always dirty and dusty! And I have them in almost every window!!!!
