Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I finally got to see Aaron!

Tomorrow I go in for some blood work. Lipid profile and the HbA1c (blood sugar averages). Hopefully it will be good news.

Good morning losers:laughing: , saying that in the most loving of ways:lmao: .

I had a pretty good weekend, kept eating under control, got my water in and got some good exercise in. I'm really working for a loss this week.

Have lots on the plate today...FIL's computer stopped working yesterday so have to go back over and try to figure it out. Can't afford to lose the information since it has the business stuff on it. I will get the kids going with their school work before I head over to tackle that. I also need to finish getting my tax stuff together. Those are the two things I'm focusing on, if I get them checked off, I'll move on to the next.

I found out this weekend that there is a chance that my brother (serving in Afghanistan) may be coming home a couple of weeks earlier than they thought. This means that if all goes well, he will be home for the birth of his baby:cool1: :cool1: .

Need to get moving for the day. Here is today's question:

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

I would hire a chef that would sit down with our family, help plan our menu for the week, do the grocery shopping, preparing the meals and cleaning up afterwards!!!:thumbsup2 Not asking too much do you think:confused3 ?

I hope it works out for your brother.:)

Quotd--oh that's easy for me, someone to scoop the infernal litterboxes every day. Since you put more than one thing, I will too. Someone to shave the cats mats out. I have some that hate to be brushed and go ballistic with the shaver. :scared1:

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??
Oh that's easy- I'd hire someone to do BATHROOMS.
guh that's my most detetest household chore. I live with heathens, HEATHENS I tell you! :rotfl:

Good Tuesday Morning

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

I would want someone in charge of the shopping, cooking and washing up of the meals. After doing it for 30 years I am getting tired. Although since I am mainly cooking for just dh and myself I am trying more recipes. If ds doesn't want to eat that's his problem.

Have a great day everyone.

hi guys!! where do the days go???

i just remember to WI overdue from last friday -- i'm still maintaining

QOTD -- a housekeeper no doubt about it!

hope everyone is well, i hope to stay in touch more this week!

I am so with you in wondering where do the hours go in the days?? Stay in touch, we've missed you!!:)

It was a busy weekend for me. We went and sawy the High School Musical Ice Show. DD7 and DD(almost4) completely loved it! Then a big family dinner with my side. We spent the night with my parents. So DH and I got to sleep in a little bit, because the kids were busy with my parents :cool1: And then some shopping to try to find a new bed for youngest DD who turns 4 this week. It time to get her out of the toddler bed.

TammyNC - I hope your brother is able to make it home for the birth of his baby. :goodvibes

Thanks!! Sounds like you had a fun weekend!!:cool1:

Here's an easy snack for 4 pts, if anybody gets cravings for fresh chocolate cake.

Microwave Cake in a cup

A microwave safe cup, 12 ounces or around that.
Cooking spray

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons flour
1 &1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
A pinch of salt
2 tablespoons skim milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon oil
Spray your cup with cooking spray, just enough to coat the cup. In a bowl(I mixed it in the cup), mix together all your ingredients and stir well. Now pour this batter into your cup.
Put the cup in the microwave and cook it on full power for 60 seconds. Depending on the power of your microwave, and your altitude (go figure) you may have to cook the cake longer. Only cook in additional 15 second intervals, because an overcooked cake is no good, and it's even worse because you're microwaving it.
Once your cake is finished, it should be nice and fluffy. Now to serve it.

Take a plate and a butter knife, and gently turn your cup over, letting the cake slide out of the cup. Guide it with soft presses of the butter knife, and once it's out, set the cup aside to be washed.

*This one doesn't boil up out of the mug.

That sounds yummy and if you split it you'd only be using 2 points if you were close for the day.:thumbsup2

I'm so glad that you finally got to see him and that must mean that he is feeling better too.  Sending :goodvibes for your blood work today.

Loved all of the QOTD replies from yesterday...

I couldn't wait for the day to end yesterday, I'm not usually one that wishes for time to pass by faster but it was a true Monday for sure. I went over to FIL's house because his computer wasn't working (we have the company books, payroll, etc. on that computer). I ended up being on the phone with tech support (you all know how hard it is to communicate with tech support sometimes:confused3 ) well, I was on the phone for over 3 hours. In the end, they believed the mother board was gone but hopefull that the hard drive is fine. They of course were trying to pressure me to make the purchase over the phone but then was going to charge extra to get it to me in two days but it still wasn't going to ship for at least two days. We have payroll to process Thursday night so I really wasn't liking those options. My nerves were at their end by the time that conversation was over and I had a meltdown.:headache: :headache: Anway, then Jimmy gets home and we are going to go for a walk, I'm thinking I really need that now to walk off some frustration...well, we get to the track, make one round and the wind is blowing so much and it is so cold, we only did a lap. So add that to the frustration. After dinner, we head out, buy and computer, go pick up the sick one from FIL and hope that computer people will be able to transfer the hard drive this morning. (Thanks for letting me vent;) ).

Now, to add to that...in the wee hours of the morning DD comes down and isn't feeling well, has been in the bathroom for a while. She gets some soda, gets settled so I get in the trying to get back to sleep mode. A little while later, she's up sick so that is the way the night has gone. I'm now spraying the house with Lysol, hoping that no one else gets it. She was with my SIL over the weekend and her daughter ended up with the stomach bug Sunday before DD came back home. I was hoping that she wouldn't catch it but thought there was a good chance.

OK, now that all if off my shoulders, it's time for a new day...I'll be good to go as long as we get the computer up and running today. I really struggled yesterday with not snacking but I made it through by just drinking lots of water thankfully.

How is everyone else doing? Pushing through the temptations? Let's work hard this week to have good numbers on Friday. Off to get the day going which means I need to stop this :surfweb: .

Have a great Tuesday!!

Here we go, another QOTD:

QOTD Tuesday - What was the last movie you watched? It could be at home or at the theater.

We watched Alice in Wonderland this past Saturday night.

Saturday night I was watching Holiday Inn with Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby

/
----someday computers might actually be user friendly..:confused3
Yay Eyore's Butterfly for getting to see your man...;)

QUOTD- We saw Coraline Sat. Night. I'm trying to figure out my movie for motivation--I think maybe Gran Torino because I love Clint Eastwood's films, always well done and well thought out. Maybe The Wrestler though because it seems Mickey Rourke really has a shot at Oscar and I love Marisa Tomei. I'd love to see Kate's other film with Leonardo De Caprio but I think I missed it- I don't see it listed anywhere.

QOTD Tuesday - What was the last movie you watched? It could be at home or at the theater.

On Sunday our family watched Ghost Town (I think that is what it was called). Very cute! and today I finished watching the 2nd half of View from the Top while exercising. Cute as well.

I am doing better. the scale is finally moving downward. And I am in a tounament on Saturday for TKD again. I am a bit nervous as I didn't plan on going originally, so I don't feel prepared. Well, I have 4 days to practice, WISH me luck!

QOTD Monday - If you could hire someone to do one thing for you what would it be??

I would hire a housekeeper. To do all the cleaning. I hate house work.

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite healthy snack right now? I'm always looking for something different to have but sometimes get stuck in a rut. So thought it would be fun to hear what others are enjoying.

A cold glass of skim milk and a spoonful of peanut butter.

Oh, I wish I could just to a single spoonful of peanut butter. I'm so bad with it. I could eat the whole jar and not even realize I had done so.:scared1:

QOTD-Sunday - What are 5 things that make you smile??
In no specific order...

My DH
beautiful sunsets
seeing dolphins on the way home from work.
my birthday.
when I think of my DM who passed away recently.

QOTD Tuesday - What was the last movie you watched? It could be at home or at the theater.

That would be "No Reservations"

Hi everyone! Just jumping in here real quick because it's been awhile. I only lost .5 pounds this past week. Well the scale was .5 different one time and 1 pound different the other. I think this may be a good week for me though! Really hoping...I did three , one-hour aerobics classes yesterday: Bootcamp type, Reggae and adv. step.

I want to answer (or try to) the QOTD. I do know my favorite snack right now that i may have mentioned before is sweet potatoe with low cal spread (just a tad), tad bit of honey and then crushed walnuts...it's just as good a sweet potatoe casserole IMO!

Hope everyone had a great week.

Also, this is off topic but thought I would ask you guys here. I notice tink1963, you are from Santa Barbara... I am thinking about a trip for my 40th (if we don't do Disney) out to the west coast and driving up the coastline from San Diego to San Francisco. I would love to know of any great hotels that are pretty reasonable and places not to miss. If anyone else is on the CA coast, feel free to let me know as well. You can PM if you like. Thanks. I know it's off topic some but I just have no idea!

Anyway, hopefully I'll get to look at everyone's past posts on here...it's just been so busy around here lately.

I'm getting ready to drive back to school. I have a phone interview for a job tomorrow at 11. It's been a really stressful weekend, and that has made it hard for me to stick to the plan. I am most definitely a stress eater. Right now I have my parents' minivan because the brakes on my Civic keep going out and until the dealer can experience it for themselves they have no idea what it could be. For a four day weekend, it wasn't very relaxing. Then this week is homecoming which should be very interesting. Even the elementary schoool teachers are getting in on it, so tomorrow I get to go to school dressed like a teenager. The good news is that I've been weighing myself on my the scale here and it's showing a loss, so I'm hoping that will keep up.

QOTD: Went and saw Twilight in the theatre last night. It was great! A movie and small popcorn for 3 bucks.

QOTD Tuesday - What was the last movie you watched? It could be at home or at the theater.

Cars... actually we watched it twice sunday night... and I knowwhat you're thinking she must have boys?! No I have no children, I just have a hubby tht L-O-V-E's:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc cartoon movies!!

QOTD Tuesday - What was the last movie you watched? It could be at home or at the theater.

We watched Oliver & Company last night. It was the first time for the kids and they got really caught up in it.

Doing a quick drive by.

I went to Jacksonville this weekend for the Breast Cancer half and I guess I figured that since I ran a lot I could EAT a lot. :( Got on the scale this AM :(

I am really struggling with motivation this week so I will have to go back and read this thread for some "pep talk"

Off now to a Girl Scout meeting.

QOTD... Hmm... Movie? I know we went to see something not too long ago. Must have really been a winner since I can't recall it LOL! Maybe it will come to me!

I have my phone interview tomorrow with the school in Nasvhille. I wasn't too nervous until I started reading all these threads on the community board about how many schools are laying off teachers. I'm praying it goes well.

Good Wednesday morning I haven't worked out this week. My feet and ankle are really bothering me. I have still been getting in my 5000 steps but I am limping as I get home. I guess the ice has to come out more often.

Good luck. We have not heard of any cuts at my school but then you never know.

Off to start the day. HAve a great day everyone.

WOW, you had a great workout session yesterday!!

:grouphug: Sorry to hear your weekend didn't go so well for you. This is another day and you can make different choices now but at least your scale is still moving in the right direction. Will be thinking of you today as you have your interview today!!

I'm no expert but isn't it normal to have a slight gain after doing a half or full? I'm sure there are others on that can explain in more detail. I would imagine it is more water gain than anything. Your body is trying to heal itself after the half. Keep your head high and keep doing what you do and you'll see the scale moving downward!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrat's on doing the half too!!!:cool1:

Good Wednesday morning I haven't worked out this week. My feet and ankle are really bothering me. I have still been getting in my 5000 steps but I am limping as I get home. I guess the ice has to come out more often.

Take care of yourself!!

Boy it is pouring rain this morning, I'm thankful the temps are just above freezing though. It is looking like a great day to stay inside, get our school work finished, chores done and then hope to work on my cross-stitching.

DD finally started feeling a little better around lunch time yesterday but didn't try to eat anything until after 6pm. She was able to keep the crackers and Ginger Ale down and slept through the night so I'm thinking she is on her way from this stomach bug. Still keeping our fingers crossed that none of us get it.

I didn't do as well with eating yesterday, ended up meeting DH for lunch and with DD getting sick the meal plans got off so I ended up taking DS to dinner because hubby had a meeting last night and I didn't have anything out to cook for dinner. Today is a fresh day though, I plan on eating a big green healthy salad for lunch.

QOTD Wednesday - What are some things that you are thankful for today? You can list one thing or multiple things.

I am thankful for:

DD feeling better, hubby still having a job, this board who has given me so much inspiration, my family....

I could go on and on but must stop so I can get other things done before I need to get up from here.

I hope everyone has a great day. Remember to drink your :drinking1 your H2O today!!
