Torrance High School. It's in Los Angeles County, but it's south of the city. Near Redondo Beach. When I was going there, they filmed the Buffy the Vampire series and the movie "She's All That."

QOTD: Salty or Sweet?

Yes. I like them together or one right after the other. The biggest problem is that I either eat too much together or the one right after the other is cyclical. So again, I eat too much...

I'm so sorry. I hope you can get this all figured out. All night in the ER sounds like a whole lotta no fun. I spent about 4 hours there a couple of weeks ago with my DH and while most of that time was spent in the trauma room and not the waiting room (the tr was unnecessary--an exam room would have been fine), I was ready to tear my hair out I was so bored and uncomfortable. I can't imagine doing that with all the stress of the unknown added.

Oh my, I sure hope they can help you soon. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be, and how scared as well. Your poor DD. I hope she feels better soon.

Things are going well this week. My eating is GREAT, and its all under control. Hoping I pull out a loss, the scale is going down and that is a good thing!

Good morning everyone. It was a beautiful day yesterday. I never did get my walk unless you count the fire drill at the end of the day and the walk through the grocery store I had to do.

I did do something I have not been able to do. I walked over 10,000 steps yesterday. I have been wearing a pedometer for the last 4 weeks and this is the first time I hit 10,000. I hit 9000 a couple of weeks ago but never 10,000. I guess I was busier than I thought I was.

Wednesday QOTD: Salty or Sweet?

Salty...could go without sweets for a very long time but have to control myself around the salties.

Glad to hear she got a little relief with the meds but am saying prayers that they figure out what is going on. Take care of yourself too, make sure to get plenty of liquids!!
 
I was started to get down since the scaled hasnt moved much at all in the past 2 weeks.

I have a pair of jeans that were a size smaller that I couldnt fit it. My fingers would hurt when I tried to button them and forget about the zipper. I tried them on this morning and the FIT!!:worship: :worship: I can breath and they are not tight. This really motivates me to keep going. Especially since I have so much to lose.
 
Thanks for the :wizard: & prayers all. I'm still trying to find Drs. NM has very few specialists. The gastros I've called won't take patients under 18 (she's 17). The pediatric gastros stop at age 16. I guess 17 yr olds aren't supposed to have problems!

I now have a theory....This all started following her concurrent enrollment Yoga class. Boyfriend is in it & I think she would overdo to keep up. And, she had double inguinal hernia repair at 8 months old. DH family history - every female as far as they can trace has them...and usually has to have them repaired more than once. I think she has the beginnings of another hernia, or two. And, to make it even better, TOM arrived late last night for her. UGH!!!! Calgon take me away....far, far away!!! I've emailed the Yoga instructor to see if I can meet with him to get some more info for my theory. I was told a hernia wouldn't show on CT or ultra or xray unless the intestine was protruding.

QOTD's on this page - sweet or salty.....both! and like someone else said, they start a vicious cycle!

Like about me? I'm outgoing, not afraid to try things (except sushi), don't fear much except my own illness (I'm a bit of a paranoid hypochondriac), that I'm a people person.....the dislike list would be much easier at this moment! :headache:

What are the things that Dr Oz has in his eating plan? Great things will be happening for you!

Basics are cut out high fructose corn syrup--etc., white flours, as many preservative that you can. Focus on fresh.

Hello everyone,

It was a rough weekend, my son had the flu, he ended up in the hospital on Saturday. Word of warning, get the flu shot! This is no joke, I was scared and left with vending machines all around. I made it through with lots of water and pretzels. I really wanted the chips, stress eating.

He is home now and doing well, back to normal activities which include but are not limited to driving us all crazy.

I hope to do well this week but have not been able to take care of me because DS needed me to be there for him 24/7. Tomorrow it's all about me.

Thank goodness he is home and doing better. The flu can be very scary, especially for the young and elderly.:hug:

Wow. I didn't think I'd win! I knew I had a good week but I'd looked back thru the weeks and they were so great I thought I might make the list but not WIN! wow.....

Definitely salty, I love, love, love Lay's potato chips, but I also love sweet WITH salty, such as crushed up potato chips on ice cream, or chocolate covered raisins and popcorn!

I like that I am artistically talented, very loyal, compassionate, and a great cook!

I don't think you give yourself enough credit. I've read several of your family's trip reports, and I think you're a very strong person who does an excellent job taking care of your family! Maybe it's just the nurse in me, but I'm impressed with how well you handle your kids' medical issues. Some families you can try and try to teach how to manage their medical issues and they remain clueless, but you seem to always be on top of the problem at hand!

Definitely sweet. Baked goods are my weekness! I was in a class all day yesterday, and though I resisted for several hours, I finally ended up eating a pastry after lunch. I was hoping they'd take them away after breakfast, but they left them on the table staring at me!

I'm a good listener. I'm pleased with where I'm at in life (married 13 years, 2 healthy kids, able to take them to Disney every year). With the stuff some people are going through, I feel truly blessed to have a stable job that I enjoy.

I have one pair that are so loose I can't wear at work anymore they keep falling down, one pair that fit pretty well that have been too tight, one pair that was impossibly tight that are fitting a little tight still. The stupid Pooh overalls that started this are still impossible-- I have a feeling that these probably wouldn't fit me even if I lost 10 more pounds:mad: --they were made for someone with a much smaller rear end lol.

Really behind on quotd's. What works and what doesn't? Well, I figured out that the emotional angle is really what triggers me- and have a handle on that. Also I was watching biggest loser and Bob? made the point that the young kid on the team that keep falling under the line wasn't eating enough calories- I think I've been doing the same thing. I skip lunch a lot too and work 6 hour shifts where I don't eat anything. Keeping the metabolism going is important.
tv--jeez looking back I guess I was a tv junkie- some of my favorites were Wheel of Fortune, back when you could pick out the prizes in the showcase (remember the dog ;-)) I remember watching the electic company, Happy Days Laverne and Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Little house, Brady bunch re-runs, Cosby when I was older, Family Feud (still watch that lol) Family Ties, I was attached at the hip to mtv throughout my teen years (y'know back when they had actual music videos).

Salty

Waht I like about myself- I'm loyal, strong minded, I can influence people. I am a friend to felines- proud to be a crazy cat lady (who spays and neuters) I am hard working and have always done the best I can for my kids.

Moving on to job--
I've worked at a grocery store for 16 years I worked in the produce for years until they eliminated my particular job-- making the cut fruit and veggies & trays, then took the job offered at the time mine left- meat dept/oounter. I love this job as it is mostly customer service unlike my last job which was all production. I do work 2-3 nights a week which is great actually if I plan my eating right and don't overeat when I get home at 9. It is very physical--especially for me as I can't stand to stay still for a second at work- too many years of production work :)
