Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Hi. Inspiring person-- Dr. Wayne Dyer :) He has some good stuff that makes sense to me on weight loss--can't remember which audio right now but I should dig it up. Healthyish snacks-- I've been doing the grape, cheese and crackers thing, lots of grapes, 4-5 triscuits w/cheese left over still from christmas lol. Glass of wine. Sometimes when I get home from working late (9pm) I just have a glass of wine with wome ibuprofen lol. I enjoy it and don't feel the need to eat. Can work both ways though-- be careful, can make you think you can eat more...I don't really snack-- I live for meals. I usually don't eat lunch but have a great breakfast and dinner. If I'm working and take a lunch then I eat.

Healthy Treat for me:
Breyer's 100cal ice cream cup. Chocolate fudge brownie flavour. Very delicious. :goodvibes
If its munchy instead of sweet that I'm craving, I like wholegrain multigrain tortilla chips with mango lime salsa.

And I actually slept 6 hours straight through last night instead of waking up every 2 hours  I've been horrible for going to bed, and getting a half hour snooze and then tossing and turning for a couple hours, so last night, at 11pm, I quit doing paperwork and instead of heading straight to bed with my brain still going over all the things left to do, I did 20min of yoga on the WiiFit. I ended up getting to be half hour later, but actually was able to fall into a good sleep earlier! :yay:

And inspiration:
I admire my grandmother and my mother, and I hope one day my daughters will be able to say they are inspired by me.
For famous people, there's many I like and admire, but none that I would say inspire me.

Hi everyone...just checking in. Let me tell you - facebook is NOT good when you are trying to move more! Add the Dis in and:coffee: that's it. ha ha

I was HUNGRY today!! I'm making a lowfat lasagna for dinner. I so don't want to exercise but my own personal Jillian (dd) said, "I don't want to do my homework but I do it every day." So...I'm dragging my (smaller) rear off to do it.

Congratulations to our top 20 losers!

QOTD:

My "treats" are usually a double nonfat latte with 1 packet of sugar in the raw or a nonfat mocha with no whip cream or an apple cut into slices with some of the cabot reduced fat cheese - I love cheese so I try to avoid it! Of course a glass of red wine is my all time favorite after-dinner treat paired with a piece of dark chocolate.

QOTD-Wednesday
I really must have something sweet at least once a day. They may not be the healthiest choices, but relatively healthy I suppose. I really like the "Quakes"..the tiny rice cakes in the caramel corn flavor. Also, when I must have a bit of chocolate I have one of the single serving pudding cups..they come in fat free!

I love the Caramel Corn Quakes too! They sell them in the vending machine at work. They have helped me make it through the day on more than one occasion. I also love Breyers reduced fat ice cream on an ice cream cone. The cone keeps me from over indulging.

On a side note...At work the vending company has done something I think is pretty neat. At the beginning of the month, they started offering all of the healthier choices 25-50 cents cheaper than anything else in the machine. The are offering Quakes, pretzels, kashi bars, snackwells, fruit snacks, baked Lays, etc. Eating healthier is much easier when it doesn't hurt the wallet as much!

Congratulations Top 20! :cheer2: Keep up the great work Losers!

That is really neat what the vending co. does at your work! It would be nice if they all started doing that.

Congrats to the big losers this week!

Wish me luck. I'm heading to the beach and to two of my fav. restaurants down there...it's gonna be tough but there is a place called The Loop that is 3 miles around and I'm going to walk / run that with my daughter everyday. It's a gorgeous view so I may try and make it around twice! Then, I can have just a little of my crab nachos, glass of wine, etc. Can't wait!!! :beach:

Hi guys! Just checking in. Surgery went well. Recovering, not so much. It hurts to change positions. I've been in the office working and Dising for too long. I'm grabbing something to eat for lunch and headed back to bed. My husband has been AWESOME! (yes, I was worried...) I'm very surprised how much I am swelled up and sore... Also, the surgeon apparently used part of my c-section scar line for this incision, too... Wasn't expecting that. Have a great day!

I'm sorry , I neglected to say I'm glad everything went well for you. And those husbands can come through sometimes, can't they? Hope you recover quickly!

Heart4pooh - I'm sorry - I missed your surgery post. Glad you are feeling better and the DH has been a big help!

reesecup - good luck with avoiding the temptation - maybe that extra lap will help keep things in moderation - a glass of wine and some crab nachos can certainly be a part of things - :beach:

Leamom - thats great about the vending machine! Those machine are usually like "Danger Will Robinson Danger" areas and should be accompanied by flashing lights and a siren!

jennz - lowfat lasagna? Hm... how do you make it? Sounds good!

luvbaloo - the tortialla chips sound good. Are they baked? Is the mango lime on them or a sauce you make or buy? So far tortialla chips are a red light food in my house because they disappear and I swear I only had a few. I'd love to find some that are reasonably healthy.

I'm Back! Haven't really been gone, but have had my DNiece & her DH from FL here. Had a good visit, they went to the mountains snowmobiling. Food wasn't great the days they were here, but not horrid either.

DS19 is having major car trouble, so I'm hauling him, he's not getting hours at work, & is having trouble making his tuition payments, so that is stress. Then today, I get a notice the mortgage company never received my Dec & Jan payments...nothing like 2 unexpected house payments a week before the third is due.....OUCH!!!! Time for a money diet, too!!

But, I haven't turned to food, so that is a big PLUS!!

The tortilla chips are baked, but I don't remember the brand. The mango lime salsa is something I buy in with all the salsa's. Its a mild salsa, and the mango chunks in it make it so refreshing (and I don't like salsa :lmao: ) I've only be able to find it in Superstore up here in Canada. Its their brand.

good morning everyone, just doing a quick check in this morning. I finally slept pretty good last night and I am starting to feel better. Still stuffy, but at least I have more energy. Have to go to TaeKwonDo tonight, hopefully I will make it through the class. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone! Another so-so week for me. I have been eating OK except for Tuesday ... I had a traditional cheeseburger and fries for my inauguration lunch. OK, so it wasn't "traditional" :lmao:. I had already quaffed half a bottle of champagne and I was in no mood to "eat right". I hate when that happens. I have still not been able to get my body moving. I seem to think of it too late in the day and then I'm running around being Mom's taxi service. I need to MAKE TIME for it earlier in the day. One thing I managed to do is stay off the scale all week so tomorrow's weigh in will be a complete surprise. I noticed last week that when my scale bounced up I just wanted to throw in the towel instead of working through it. I just need to work through each roadblock one at a time.

Thursday QOTD:

What is your next event that makes you nervous about staying on track?
What is your game plan to get past this event and stay on track/OP?

I know I state mine here from time to time. It helps to get ideas and to hear what other ppl do.

This weekend DD16 has a cheer competition. I don't know what time it is, how long it will be or even where it's located. I don't have any idea what they will serve.

I plan on bringing a green's nutrition bar, some walnuts, cheese & crackers, and a bottle of water. I can make it through the day - I did it last weekend and I'll do it this weekend. I just have to pray it doesn't fall over two meals.

My next event is a while away (March), but we have 6 birthdays in March!!! The biggest problem is we have started a tradition of using birthdays as an excuse to get cold stone cakes!!!! :bitelip: :hyper: :bitelip: They are SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!!!!

Anywhoo... I plan to drink LOOOOOOTS of water since water seems to get me full really quick. Also no bread so maybe a tenny tiny piece of cake.

My BFF is coming to DC next weekend (the 30th) while my husband and son are away in Kansas to see a basketball game. :cool1: We're going out for a few margaritas Friday night and I'm worried that I'll hit the chips and salsa. I'm planning on hitting the gym hard on Friday and again Saturday morning before hitting downtown DC and Georgetown. I'll eat an apple before we leave for dinner so I'm not feeling too hungry and will limit myself to one margarita knowing that I have to drive. I have already decided on vegetable fajitas for dinner with only 2 tortillas and no sour cream to keep the calories under control. I believe if I stick to this plan, I'll remain on plan and won't regret the weekend when I step on the scale Monday morning.

QOTD - Wednesday:
Whatare your favorite treat's that are still relatively healthy?

I like flavored coffees. Originally I need sugar and milk, but I weened myself off them and now I prefer them black. I have a keurig, so it is really easy to get all sorts of flavors. My current favorite is blueberry.
In the summer I love frozen grapes.

My dh and I "fought" over visiting his dad yesterday. His dad likes to cook and cook means fry things in bacon grease, so there is nothing I can eat there. We visited before Christmas and literally all weekend I ate rolls since that was the only thing at the table to eat. The veggies are boiled in butter (literally) and the mashed potatoes have a nice cream film over them. Salads are dosed in dressing. I told him we would go in March, when I am past my really strict phase and can actually eat bread.

The big one coming up is a trip to the world, but I have decided that staying on plan that week is not required. it is my honeymoon and my birthday!

COW Week 3

Ok ladies and gents, time to add something new. This is where that pedometer comes in.

This week you need to….

Drink 8 cups of water a day
Eat 3 servings of veggies a day
Walk 5,000 steps a day ~about 2.5 miles depending on your stride
(the goal is 10,000 a day ~5 miles, but we will start slow. If you make 10,000 by all means let me know!)

Here is a refresher of the COW rules in case you are new or forgot. I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 2nd, although I recommend you pm or email it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)
If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

So here is how this version will work. Every Thursday I will post a new task to add to the previous tasks. This should help you establish good habits during this BL. I got this idea from the 12 days of Christmas song actually. So,

Week 1 all you need is the partridge and the pear tree
Week 2 you will need the turtle doves and the partridge
Week 3 you need the French Hens, turtle doves and partridge
And it goes on

So this week you will report...
I drank my 8 cups X days
I ate my veggies X days
and I walked 5,000 steps X days
Or if you are really good, I walked 10,000 steps X days!

I need to MAKE TIME for it earlier in the day. .
If you can try waking up 45 mins earlier and get in a 30 min workout. This used to be my time to workout, when my kids were younger. It seemed like doing first thing before I started my day was the only way I could fit it in. And it worked. Now my kids are both teens and don't need "mom" all evening to keep them occupied. So Now "my time" is from 7pm - 8pm.

MOVING DAY/WEEK! We will have to move in the next few months and I know once things get hectic and packing and moving and unpacking is in full swing stoping to make healthy dinners (& lunches) just won't be priority. This is going to be a struggle. My strategy is going to be to have healthier grab and go things and to plan ahead so those meals out can be the healthiest possible.

COW Week 1 Results

Ok all. I am a bit disappointed. With over 100 people still participating, only 20 of you reported your water. I know you are all drinking it, so lets go, get me your numbers!
Week 2 scores are due tomorrow, but for those that have not been keeping track, a new COW starts tonight at midnight. You can do this! :cheer2:

As for the reporters, 15 were perfect with their water this week. Good job! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work. You wont be sorry!

The other 5 are trying and that is all that really matters.

I expect this group to be on the list of biggest losers because of their efforts.
