Good morning everyone!! This thread has been hopping, and it's great to meet you all. I love to read about everyone's dis names, and all your goals. My dis name is boring. It was my original email name when I got a computer, only about 5 years ago, and mi- my son michael, ka- kathy, mah- mahoney. I also wish I had been more creative for the dis, but when I signed up to ask a question, prob 3 years ago, I had no idea I would become so addicted to the dis. I've been getting my exercise in every morning for the past 5 days, and am still within my ww points, but did have a binge yesterday on some little two bite strawberry cupcakes. I shouldn't have bought them, but my son loves them, and even though I ate most of them, they really were for him.

I also love this multiquote thing that one of you wonderful people showed me during the last challenge. Now I can click while I'm reading something that I want to comment on. I used to take notes on a piece of scrap paper and try to remember to address it when I posted. I'm so not computer literate.
I have to admit I have been struggling with not going out to eat. I know I won't go, it isn't a matter of that, it is just thinking about it all of the time, and because of that I think I am not feeling "satisfied" during our meals and I end up snacking way more than I should. I mean WAY more than I should. I know it is baby steps, but I have to get a handle on this.
Any suggestions????
DH has made some great meals, we had chicken for lunch today, and he is making homemade chicken soup for dinner. He is a fantastic cook and I am so lucky that my DH likes to cook, as I don't really like too. Only when the mood strikes!

Which thankfully isn't that often!

But, we are having good food, it is just a matter of getting over the feeling of "wanting and needing" to go out for fast food.
Vija, you should try and have cheeseburgers and fries at home. The 93% ff beef is good, and country kitchen has light wheat rolls, and I always dress mine up with pickles and mustard. I'll also slice potatoes or sweet potatoes and brush with some olive oil, salt and pepper and bake them to make fry like potatoes. Not mcdonalds, but not bad and can help with the cravings. But of course, you should have your husband make it for you, and you can just sit down and eat it, so it's more like fast food.
Write down your goal and post it where you will see it every day. When it is posted let us know here on our thread.
This was a great suggestion, and I wrote it down on 3 post-its and put one on the fridge, the bathroom mirror, and my computer screen. It is motivating to see a reminder of our goals. If I buy those cupcakes again, I'll put it right on the box.
Right now we're fighting some kind of bug here at my house. This is actually good timing for me, my parents both have cancer and are in Orlando while I'm here in Indy, finances don't make it possible for me to leave my job and go down there, not to mention my family here, although they would definitely understand and make it through.

Just talked to my mom and she wasn't sounding too good so it's a good time to hit the chips or something...but I don't feel well enough to eat them. So that's a good thing.
Hope you are feeling better, and I'm so sorry about your parents. My mom has multiple medical problems, and it tough when I'm in the next town over, I can't imagine how hard it is to be so far away. Hugs and prayers are coming your way. Take care.
To answer the question:: most would think my screen name is after my fav. candy...actually, when i signed up on here, my son had a guinea pig named reesecup and i couldn't think of something so that is what it was. I'm sorry if I make you guys crave one of the candies (not the guinea pig) when looking at my screen name because I know I do because it is ONE of my favorites!
Good luck this week to everyone. I'm going to try and do outdoor challenge and some wii fit this afternoon. Gotta clean this house though and that's a workout in itself!
I love your name, and when I crave those reeses cups, I'll try and think of your guinea pig instead of buying one.
my screen name -- I'm a Mom who lives in Ohio
GO BUCKS!!
We went to ohio for a wedding once, and had a blast, but on the reesescup idea, I remember going to I think it was called Big Bear supermarket and buying those peanut butter buckeye candies. They were so good. The wedding was outside columbus and we went to the columbus zoo which was awesome, and a botanical garden which was really nice too.
I know someone complained that the thread was getting too big too fast. The replies will slow down as the challenge goes on. This is my 3rd challenge and each time we do it as the weeks go by the number of replies get less and less. The last week on the Black Team we had only two or three talking and we started out with almost 40 people in the group.
If it does get too large we will think about starting a new thread but we are trying to keep the group as one group this time.
.
It is a big thread, but it's nice to see everyone, and like you said, unfortunately it will most likely die down over the weeks, and being on the smaller teams during the prior challenges in the past, it will be great to have one thread for all of us in the end. Maybe this time it weill be different and we'll all stick it out!!
Uh, Brenda. The DIS is the first chatboard that I had signed up with-way back when there was 1 page and a couple of dozen people. I didn't know I was supposed to BE creative.
How I'm doing:
I feel so much better today - thank goodness the pain and just general not feeling well went away. DD16 is not doing as good. She didn't go to school today (and great I took her out of school on 12/23 when we went to Vegas- figures), but she did eat dinner (soup) tonight. Her first meal since Saturday afternoon.
I did great with my eating yesterday, despite not feeling well. I got 4 glasses of water, but no exercise yesterday.
Today - felt better - yeah. Some good news and bad news. I exercised at lunch - 35 minute walk (2miles). The bad news was that I got a box of Godiva chocolates, but it did have the calories for them. So fine- I will eat 2 per day and work them into my calories. Unfortunately I decided to eat all 8 in the box - thank goodness it was a small box.
But the good news is - that even after eating those candies, I am still at the very low end of my calorie range and I still ate 3 square meals and two snack (be it one snack was over 500 calories of chocolate).
.
It is a great thing that we can go a little crazy, but still be ok. I so have done that, and if it's just one day, or one box of chocolates, it won't make you gain that week. It's the snowball effect, saying oh, i blew it, and totally falling off the wagon that will mess you up. Good for you for sticking to you plan. Glad you are feeling better.
Hey Samantha - welcome,
I'm about to lose a treadmill and am dreading it. I have a gym upstairs - live in a condo. And am putting my place on the market. I use the treadmill for my intervals all the time. So know how you feel. Or will know - soon.

Monday Question of the Day - Explain your DIS screen name.
My Dis name is pretty self-explanatory -- my name. I know, not too creative.
I've been doing good so far and lost a little weight and clothes a little looser. Yesterday DS, who is 9, asked if I was getting taller because I looked different. I think he was trying to be diplomatic and not say that I looked thinner . . . at least that is what I hope!
I'm such a dope. I saw the moose in both of your siggies, and thought oh, another lisa from canada. After seeing your moose Lisaviolet all these months, I thought it was a canadian thing. Now I see it's the villas at WL. Duh.
Have great losing day everyone!!
