Time for the morning Ya Ya Chick In!!!

Did some lurking here last night but just didn't do any posting. Like the idea of NO WAR talk. There may come a time that we might feel the need to talk about it but I think that it isn't now.

Teens are gone to school. DS's GF came over yesterday and decorated his room. She asked him to Sadies. It was really cute. Don't know what happened with just walking up to person of opposite sex and asking them to go to a dance but at this school that would be boringl Any other Ya Yas out there who experience this unique way to ask people to school dances? They do it for homecoming, winter formal, Sadies, and Prom.....Just glad that I am not a teen now days. My imagination wouldn't hold up.

I like the idea of no war talk but what about the feelings we are feeling. Im not talking about whether we agree or disagree on the war etc... Im talking core feelings like fear, sadness etc.. I think we should be able to come here with those. I would hate for anyone to be feeling bad and not be able to come to us with how they feel.

Betty they used to have Sadie Hawkins dances when I was in school oooooohhhhhh sooooooooo many years ago. That was really the only time a girl asked a boy to a dance though.

Absolutely, know what you mean. I agree we should be able to express how we are feeling but I just don't want to have a debate start up on this thread. There is a debate board for that. So how does everyone else feel about that?

Oops forgot to clarify this. Sadies is the only dance that traditionally the girl asks a boy. All the others are boy ask girl but there have been times when the girl has done the asking. DS was asked to homecoming his sophomore year.

Didn't have a Sadies dance at my high school. But that was many moons ago.........

Ya Ya's. I did not want anyone to stifle how they are feeling. I think this is where we HAVE to come to share those feelings of fear, sadness, upset, whatever. What I did not want to come to The House of Ya Ya and see the blow by blow of what was happening in Kuwait and Iraq. There are plenty of other sources for that. So, again, I am sorry if I made anyone feel badly, those are just my thoughts. Carry on.

Well, we waited out old man Winter and now we are ready for the flowers and birds.

Morning to Jodie, Betty, Deb and Karen and anyone else who sneats in on me and who pops in this morning.

I am a happy camper this morning. Stopped at the Carson's near work, saw a cute sweater/skirt set. I grab the 16 (which I had been wearing) and the 14, thinking maybe I could get into the 14. Put on the 14 first. The waist was too big!!! Got a 12, put it on and it was comfortable. I don't know, maybe these skirts run a little big in the waist, but it's the number on the tag that counts, right?

Karen...we always share our feelings here....to do any less would be...well...UnYaYa!!

Deb, BIG thumbs up for Garden Grill, here! Although, they discontinued the fantabulous Apple Crisp dessert The character interaction is superb and Chip and Dale are the absolute best!! Dale sat down and went through my backpack once and had me ROTFLMAO! The year DH proposed, he teased Mickey about not giving Minnie a ring and flashed mine at him. Mickey got so excited, he ran and got all the other characters to come over and admire my ring and give me a hug!!!

Sorry I missed the Cheeto patrol--and I have a good stock of them too!

Jodie relaxes for a minute in this nice recliner, sips the yummy coffee and ...ahem...very much enjoys the weightlifter magazine....soon deciding its a little too warm for coffee! Must be the warmth of Spring...yeah...that's it!

DH and I ate at the Garden Grille when we were there. The food was yummy, and yes, the character interaction was very good. Artist Point looks so nice. I would like to try that one too Jodie.

Morning GP! Yep, it sure did feel great! It just made my morning. And you know what else made me real happy? Last night I was cooking dinner, had on stretchie pants and t-shirt (no, not the best dressed around the house), and DH looked at me and said "hey babe, you look good. I am proud of you".

Good morning Kim, are you still working on the yearbook. When is your final date?

OK, questions for the Ya Yas.

As some of you may know my DS will be graduating from high school this year. We are planning a casual picnic type party. We are having it at Izaak Walton (conservation group that DH belongs to) I am serving fried chicken(from KFC or Krogers), cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, rolls etc...... The activities that can be done are free canoeing, kayaking on the Little Miami River, biking on the Loveland bike trail(15-20 miles long), horse shoes, volleyball, basketball, and there is a big swing set for the little cousins. I am just starting planning what decorations or sentimental things to do. Of course the pictures from K-12 will be there. The school colors are orange/black. We are expecting around 50-60 people plus whatever friends of DS's that want to come. I want nice and easy but not over do it. Tables will be inside and there are picnic tables under a shelter also. What else can I do? Get those creative juices flowing.
