so the big question NC Belle.. is how was your valentine day with your sweetie?? Where did you end up going? ??

We slept in, but I think we were in the Studios for part of the day and then went to the Contemporary for dinner then we were at Downtown Disney (1st time). I remember doing the resort monorail several times that day and checking out the Grand Floridian.


We were starting to lose count of days...I need to look at our pictures to confirm.

Good Morning All,

I was up all night with an upset wife and a crying baby. At about 1:00am, she told me "Fine, just go ahead and go to bed." (yeah right, that means if I want to wake up in the morning I must at least fold the laundry...(not a small task either) Oh well, 6:am came way too early, I was a little late to work because I took the 7:00 feeding.. I got into work and they all told me I looked like heck. Go to sleep. can't... Caffeine...must find caffeine...isn't there any in CHOCOLATE? YES!!!
FEED ME CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Hey, toight I'm going with PixieMagic and TiggersPal to see "Cavalia" which is sort of like Circqu de Soli (sp???) on horseback. Can't wait. Then NEXT weekend the three of us are doing high tea at the Biltmore resort...I actually have to put on a dress.....and if TiggersPal has her way, we have to wear hats and talk with an English accent!

Guess I'd better go rummage through my closet and see if I can find my straw hat!

ohanafamily I'm sorry you had a sleepless night. How is RRBB today? I hope you are both OK.

ibouncetoo have fun at your show. If you need help perfecting your English accent you know where I am. Remember at high tea you must drink from your cup with your little finger sticking out (confession time, I actually do that anyway! My friends say I am a closet snob! )

Today we went to Alton Towers, my favourite rollercoaster park. Although it is closed for the winter parts of it open on Saturdays for hotel guests and AP holders. One of my favourite indoor rollercoasters is there and it is closing in 2 weeks time so I wanted to ride it for one last time. Whilst we were there we went to the water park as well (indoors of course!) Then when we got home we found we had already had a power cut. We were in the house for about 10 minutes when the power went off again. It has only just come back on 3 hours later!

Oh honey I know what you mean about feeding coffee, had my CPR class today was there for nearly 8 hours but I passed, picked up the kids and headed out for dinner, three cups of coffee later I could fall asleep typing this! Maybe I should have gone for the chocolate sundae for desert.

Thanks for asking Danauk. I'm doing okay, though VERY tired. I didn't crawl into bed until 6am this morning after spending most of the night on the sofa with TagBabyIan. I was so out of it that ohanafamily went into work late so he could give the baby a bottle while I got a little sleep. Since then the day has been pretty good - we'll see how the night goes though.

ohanafamily and RRBB how are you guys this morning? I hope TagBabyIan allowed you some more sleep last night.

s&k'smom congratulations on passing your CPR class. We had to do our first aid class at work a week ago. Luckily for me my classroom assistant was an ambulance tecnician for 13 years before giving it up for 4 years to raise her twins. I was her partner and she helped me a lot. It was quite funny though as she didn't tell the trainers that she actually knew more about first aid than they did. She had to attend the course though as she needed the certificate for our work.

OK, so what has everyone got planned for today? I have a singing rehearsal later at the theatre plus I need to get ready for work tomorrow. My week off went far too quickly! Never mind, 4 weeks and then I get another 2 weeks off for Easter. But then it is only 5 weeks until exam week and when you have the year group who have to sit the exams it is a lot of pressure for us and the kids (we are set targets as to how many kids get which grades although they don't take into account the ability of the kids at the start of the year!)

Thanks Danauk, not much planned for today. After church we'll come home and have lunch with DH before work and just see how the day goes. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow so needless to say everyone around here will panic and hit the grocery stores!

Well, we got back late last night (okay, not really late, I was in bed at about 11, but it seemed sooooo late!) from the contet and we had tons and tons of stuff with us. Over 20 of these being trophies and other awards!! Yep!! WE WON!!!!! We won whatever it was possible for us to win! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were all joking around and said we needed to be in the newspaper (we're actually getting our picture taken for it tomorrow!), the news, the news show at school, and we should get a plaque displayed in the school gym with all of our names on it! The cheerleaders from our school last year (the competition squad) won "nationals" at their competition, and the size of that win is of the same proportion as ours!!!

Okay, I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever I get a copy of the pics we took last night after the awards ceremony, I'll try to scan one in and get it to y'all!!

s&ksmom, congrats on the CPR Class. We took an infant CPR class a couple of months ago and I barely remember any of it. Hopefully it will all come back to me if I need it.

Danauk, thanks for the yummie chocolate, and I am glad your assistant knows a lot about emergency medicine. It sounds like you have a few tough kids there that might cause problems that a nurse alone might not have the experience to fix. BTW, when do you find out that they doubled your salary? (Hey, I can wish for you). I also agree about lifting the pinky when drinking tea. Doesn't everybody? I had to have a talk with Nephosaurus. It seems he was logging into AA.Com to make weekend reservations to come visit you. We talked to our Pediatrician at the 2 month check up, and he said "No Airplanes yet for TagBabyIan. It is still cold and Flu season and there are some very bad germs out there that a confined space (like an airplane) is just not a goos Idea. He said we will be OK for our October trip.

Today, RRBB is planning on working on the birth announcements (yes we are VERY LATE), and Thank you notes. She doesn't seem to have enough time in the day. My plans are to try and help.

ohanafamily I'm glad cute little TagBabyIan is back to his normal self today. Did RRBB manage to catch up on some well deserved sleep? I hope so.
My pay raise is pretty much guaranteed if I fill in the paper work (which isn't as easy as it sounds as you have to make statements and provide evidence to support your reasons as to why you feel you deserve the raise). I won't get it until the start of the new school year though in September. Then in 3 years time I can apply for another raise (each raise is worth about $3700).

OK, strange question. You know when you are on holiday (vacation - sorry I'm English!!) and you take pictures of various things. A lot of the time you end up getting people in the back ground of your picture who aren't aware that they are in it. So according to this you must be in other peoples photos with out realising it. Why am I saying this you ask? Well I was just on another board that I visit about Alton Towers, my favourite UK theme park. I went there yesterday as although it is closed for the winter they open sections of it on Saturdays. Anyway I went on Oblivion, one of my favourite rides (it is a verticle drop rollercoaster) and someone took a picture of the ride whilst I was on it and has posted it on the website!! Here's the link. Pete is wearing his black hat on the front row and I am next to him (2nd seat to the end).

It got me wondering. How many holiday photos do we end up on without realising it?

ETA: I know you can not tell that it definately is me but on the website the guy said what time he took the photo and I know we were sitting in those seats on the ride at that time. Plus I remember Pete sitting next to the balding man at the time.

Lets see, $3700 per year, that means a trip for one to WDW, so in 2 years it's an extra get-away for you and Pete!!!!!

Oh, it doesn't bother me, I actually thought it was quite funny! It just got me thinking I wonder how many other peoples holiday photos I am in!!

Nice idea about the extra trip. However by the time you have take off tax payments, pension contributions etc it is a lot less than that!! Perhaps it will pay for a trip after 4 years!!

Danauk I know what you mean about the holiday photos. Somewhere in Japan is a picture of my dog and PixieMagic's dog dressed in their holiday sweaters that some people took at the Grand Canyon years ago! And I can't begin to imagine how many WDW pictures all of us (DISers) there are.

Cavalia was sooooooooooo excellent! For many of the 'acts' the horses were at liberty (no saddle, bridle, halter) and were so well trained. Also saw some beautiful dressage moves that TiggersPal and I really appreciated. And PixieMagic, who is not a 'horse person' was amazed at some of the 'dancing' they were doing!

Just got back from seeing "Hitch" with the girls. It was enjoyable, I just love Will Smith and would pretty much watch him in anything.

Time to throw in another load of laundry.....catch y'all later!
