Good morning - what a beautiful morning we are having here. The sun is shining :sunny: and it is not blistering hot!!!

Anyone have any exciting plans for today? My MIL is coming in a couple of hours to take Stephanie for the day and for overnight. I feel quilty about being excited about this - but I am looking forward to renting a rated R and watching it at 8pm instead of 10:00pm and I'm looking forward to ordering our favorite stuffed pizza which is something she doesn't like. Then we will eat our favorite pizza in the living room while watching the rated R movie :)

Anyone have any suggestions of a good movie we could rent? We just watched The Aviator last weekend (I didn't like it) and we watched The Pacifier last night (I do like that movie).

I gotta go and get Stephanie packed - talk to you later!!

HHHMMMMMM movies, let's see if you want heavy drama, Vera Drake. Baseball comedy, Mr. 3000. Excellent independent film Napolean Dynamite. Ray is fantastic (you'll see why Jamie Fox one the Oscar), and if you like Halle Berry Introducing Dorothy Dandridge is good. The Green Mile with Tom Hanks is another excellent movie. I'm trying to think what comedys I've seen lately but I've been doing the drama bit recently. Anyone else? Come on mommy and daddy have a night alone with pizzA!

I totally forgot about Ray - we really want to see that movie. I'll ask Kevin what he thinks about that one before I go to the video store. Thanks for bringing that one up.

Excellent, I think you'll really like it. I was never a big jazz fan but wow what a story.

slo, Why not go out and see a CURRENT MOVIE (Like war of the worlds... See Tom cruise almost defeated... you already know the ending. I heard it was good. Judging from RickinNYC's review, Bewitcthed was an OK movie, but his friends that saw it said he would have turned violent at the waste of money (to be read as "It is definately a Girly Girl Chick Flick, Not for a Manly Man") (OK, this means your DH will probably hate it, but you will probably like it)

There is always the classics as well; Southpark, the movie (or that political one that they did a few years aga), Debby Does Dallas ;);)(OK this is more for your DH, but you might also reap some benfits),

How about a drama that the kids won't sit through... Lorenzo's oil... a real tear jerker, or a slasher movie like Psycho (or Texas Chainsaw Massacre...

OK, I will stop being un-helpful.....

:jumping2:

ohanafamily - I did think about going to see War of the Worlds, I even asked my mom to watch BabyKate - but then I said to myself, "self...this is the first weekend of this movie being out and it is going to be so crowded." After I said this, I changed my mind. The thought of having to prebuy a ticket and then having to get to the theater 45 min. before the movie starts doesn't appeal to me.

But thanks for the suggestion! :)

slo, I figure you are right too, but "Adult Time" with Daddy was more my real suggestion... I know what it feel like now, and there are times I would like more "Snuggle Time"

OK, I'll stop...

Good morning all. TagBabyIan has been fed, twice, this morning and now it's about time for his cereal. While he's busy watching his signing video I thought I'd pop on for a few minutes.

It's gray and may rain here today. :Pinkbounc We really need some rain, too. I think we're going to the "Salad Bar" (aka Fuddruckers) for lunch this afternoon. Then we really need to head up to the mall in Frisco to pic up some pics we had taken last month. (They sent them off to the lab to be reprinted since my boys were totally washed out in the ones we got at the sitting.)

Anyone got major plans for the holiday? We're gonna go to a cousins for a little while tomorrow but nothing planned otherwise, not even for the 4th.

Okay, fussy baby in the other room - his show ended. Gotta run...

:wave2:

No plans for us---NC Beast has Tuesday night into Wed. morning off---so he will be awake for part of our anniversary (we can go to a movie in the morning/early afternoon on 7/6 and he will be awake enough to enjoy).

I better go defrost some hotdogs and other stuff for him to bbq tomorrow.

Hi guys,
Sorry I have been MIA for a while, life here is hectic. I have been busy at the theatre, Friday we had an indoor icerink at school as a fund raiser which was fun although I didn't get home until 9pm (only myself and another teacher stayed to help out, even the head didn't stay!) On Friday we had a dress rehearsal for the school play which I am in charge of. Monday and Tuesday we have an inspection (not what we need with 3 weeks to go!!) and then Tuesday and Thursday evening we have the school play. Then we are into sports day, school trip, class party, tallent show and a morning with our new class (half of which I taught this year!). I will sure be glad when the next 3 weeks are over then I have 5 1/2 weeks off!!
So PD to anyone who needs it and have a great 4th July everyone (btw, 4th July should have been my birthday but I was 10 days late!)
It is late here now but I can't sleep. I have been up until 1am for the past 5 nights preparing for the inspection at work and I can not sleep right now! I bet come Monday when the inspectors are in my room I will be shattered!!
Oh well, TTFN.

Danauk---Good luck on everything this week! I wish that I could give you a rush delivery on some chocolates and oreos.

Good grief... that sure sounds like an elaborate fundraiser! I hope all went well. We never did more than sell candy bars and popcorn!

I'm going to finish watching the NASCAR race.

Good Luck with everything DanaUK...

I am actually waiting on a call back from Microsoft. They were supposed to call me by 10:30PM, it is now 11:PM. I asked the status, and they re-dispatched the call (That means another 4 hour window... I think I will turn up the ringer on my phone and take a nap.....

Good Night All,

My NASCAR picks for this week are not doing well. NC Beast is busy reading the Lord of The Ring trilogy.

Good night!

Good morning all, good luck with everything Danauk. wow you are busy.

Off to a pool party today to help celebrate the 4th. Fireworks in our town tonight, the kids are looking forward to it. I just like the people watching.

Good morning all :sunny: - what a beautiful day here in the Chicago area. After Stephanie comes home, I am planning on us being in the pool this afternoon. I doubt I will be in the pool much tomorrow - I can't have fun in the pool if I'm hosting a party - I always feel like there is something else I should be doing.

Last night we watched Ray (thanks again s&k'smom for the suggestion) and the movie was pretty good. I thought it was a little long, but still good. My FIL loves this movie and we found out that he bought it, so we borrowed it from him and then we didn't have to rent it.

Danauk - it's good to see you. Your schedule really does sound quite hectic right now. Try not to get to stressed out - I'd hate to see that happen. Here's some PD :wizard: for you to help you relax a little bit. Take care of yourself!!

RRBB - how are you doing? I saw that you said that TagBabyIan was watching a signing video. Are you guys trying to teach him sign language? The reason why I'm asking is because the daycare that BabyKate attends teachs the toddlers sign language. Since BabyKate was a year old she has been able to communicate through sign language the words: please, thank you, more, eat, milk, yes, no and a couple of others I can't think of right now. What's nice is that she was able to ask for things without crying/screaming and having me try to guess what she wants. She also was able to start learning some manners before speaking also. She is going to be 2 in August and even though she is speaking more and more, she uses her sign language to help communicate what she wants.

Alright - I better be on my way and water my flowers while BabyKate is watching The Wiggles. Talk to you all later!!

yes.gif
For the early communication aspect of course. But more than anything, we want TagBabyIan to be able to communicate with his cousin. My oldest niece is deaf and even though she has a cochlear implant, signing is the best way to "talk" with her. Those "miracles" you see on the news every once in a while are usually of people that had hearing then lost it so they have memory of sounds. My niece was deaf from birth so it's been a lot harder getting her verbal skills recognizable to the rest of us.

I purchased the whole set of Signing Time DVDs, but so far we've really just watched the first one - basic signs. Hopefully in the next couple of months TagBabyIan will start to use some of them. Signs the first DVD teaches include eat/food, milk, water, ball, more, car, airplane, flower, cat, dog, bird, fish, shoes, want, mommy, daddy, baby, sleep.

So my boys have left and I have the house to myself for a few hours. What to do, what to do??? I could finish the laundry I started last night, straighten up the place some, etc. but I think instead I'm going to take a nice leisurely bubble bath. I've been one big bundle of ache lately and the jacuzzi has been calling to me for days...
