Hello all :wave2: - I had to pick BabyKate up early from daycare today due her throwing up all over the teacher :scared1:. I'm always telling her teachers that they just don't get paid enough money for the things that they go through - God Bless them!!! BabyKate is sleeping now and I'm hoping this will be just a quick sickness because we have fun plans for this weekend - one of them being our towns 4th of July fireworks on Sunday night.

ibouncetoo - it's good to hear that you had a good time at Disneyland. I've never been there and I really hope to go there someday.

Well...have a good night everyone and a good day tomorrow!!

Happy anniversary to one of my favorite couples!!! Sorry not a more elaborate post,,,,I'm typing one handed this morning! (one of them is still asleep!)

s&k'smom I only had ONE Mickey Bar!

Thanks everyone for the PD and happy Anniversaries...

OK, I have a Mommy question...
What's your opinion...

We have a 1BR at SS booked for this October. Should we take a babysitter with us? It will have to be an adult if we do because it is during school. GrannyB might be available, or we might be able to take our maid's sister. Thinking about it, RRBB won't want him out of her sight too much, soTHIS TRIP, having a Nanny may not be justified. Maybe next year when he is 2YO... Whaddya think???

:jumping2:

I think its a bit of a loaded question. Grannies are great to take along to give you some time with family and some night time peace of mind and peace in general. Taking a babysitter/nanny may not be worth it as you say because, speaking from my 1st trip with my son, we just loved being with him every moment of his entire experience. It was magical seeing his eyes light up and experience everything for the 1st time. Our 1st trip was about 5 days long and I could have really gone for one night in that entire time to go out for - but that was about it. I was still an exhausted parent so too much more night time boogying ws not really in the cards for me. So, would it have been worth it to take a babysitter for us - no - would it have been worth it to take Grandma - yes, but to bring her to see his reaction too, not really for the babysitting end of it.

We did bring Grandma for the second trip which was two days in total and we actually did bring her to babysit at night but it never worked out because of late park nights and total mahem trying to get my son to go down to bed due to the change in routine - it was throwing him more this trip because he was a little older and more set in his ways.

So, there's my experience in a nut shell. See, its a personal decision therefore this is a bit of a loaded question - depends on you guys and how you think you'll feel about it and depends on Ian and how you think he will do being out of his element.

Good afternoon everybody :wave2: - it's so hot here in Chicago today that it really reminds me of Florida in Sept (that's when we go). It's 98 degrees outside right now and it's 4:30 in the afternoon :sunny: . I'm actually enjoying it - it's nice to finally be able to use our pool.

BabyKate is doing much better today - her sickness was just a passing thing (thank God!!). I kept her home from daycare today and that really helped her. This way she was able to relax all day and take it easy.

ohanafamily and RRBB - Happy Anniversay!! :bride: :groom:
To answer your question about taking a nanny, babysitter, or Grannie - I personally prefer not having one. Last year when we went to WDW BabyKate was 13 months old and it worked out really well - I never felt the need for a babysitter. Our schedule was definitly at the mercy of what BabyKate needed or wanted, but that was part of the charm of going with her at that age. Only you can truly know what's best for you and your family and you should do what's going to make your trip a great one.

castlegazer - I looked at the pictures Dan Murphy posted and it really looks like you guys had a great time. I would love to meet Dan Murphy sometime - he looks like he's just the nicest man!!

Well, I'm off to try to find something to make for supper. In this heat, it's always hard to make dinner because nobody has much of an appetite for anything. Kevin (DH) just got a call, from the fire dept, and he left soaking wet in his bathing suit. I don't know what the call is, but I'm hoping that it's a medical call and not an actual fire call because it's just to hot for them to be putting all that gear on.

Talk to you guys soon!!!

Thanks CG, GrannyB is actually a friend of ours (She actually was close to RRBB's parents before they passed away; she is an honorary Gandma) BTW, I am having more problems with my eyes... first the Maccula, now the periphery. I'M NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!

Thanks for the advice, I think Next year we might think about bringing a sitter.....

:jumping2:

Anniversary Dinner tonight, Melting pot...

Ohana only one Mickey bar, did I ever mention the ugly incident I had last November eating my Mickey bar at MGM or should I say wearing it. And no I have not pushed anyone under 18 to get in front of the line, well just once but it was a mean kid.

It's gonna be hotter than HE double hockey sticks in Mass tomorrow, TG we are meeting inside for the Dis meet.

Happy Anniversary you guys. DH and I are 15 years in September.

QUESTION

Have any of you been to the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot? I have to make my PM's for Epcot tomorrow and we are thinking about going there. Please let me know what you think or what you have heard.

Thanks!!!

We were there years ago, it had long tables and different parties sat together. The entertainment was fun and the food is hearty so if you like that kind of food. And well if you like Beer!!! My DH really liked it.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: Ohana why don't you post a picture of our Bietergarden experience with the Dragons.....just remember, no side shots of this fat lady, LOL!

I've had lunch and dinner there and enjoy it very much. The oompah band and the crowd doing the chicken dance is a hoot! They have some kind of nut crusted dessert that is to die for!

ibouncetoo, WHAT HAPPENS IN GERMANY STAYS IN GERMANY!!!:rotfl2:

Seriously, If you like German food, it is exceptional. They seat smaller parties together, but you get to meet some interesting people that way.;)

RRBB has a problem with Pork products, but she usually finds something to eat. The entertainment is not continuous, but I think it happens every hour or so. Good Beer! We do not go there every trip, but it is a favorite spot to meet people at. There is usually not a problem with getting a last minute PS

I love the Teddy Bear store right near there, they carry Steiff. They also recognize me by sight

We had a unique experience there with a friend... she had a doll made with her DF's features and got the eye color wrong... she was so embarassed; we went back and she had another one made with the right eye color.

A place you definately need a PS for is the Canada Steak House. We also like Garden Grill. We always try to go there once a trip; We had a practice wedding there, and on another trip we wound up playing charades once with the characters there...another long story...

Post your food preferences, I am sure WE can ADVISE you where to go for meals.....

:jumping2:

Oh, BTW, Well, Our anniversary was wonderful. we went to Melting pot for Dinner. YUM. We ate too much, but for dessert we had the Bananas Foster made with Dark Chocolate instead of white chocolate... YUMMY!!!

Today RRBB has a baby shower to go to. After work I get to pick up his majesty the Heir of parent, and take him with me to take my folks to the airport.

Oh well, I need to get some food. See you later!!!

:jumping2:

Good evening chocoholics. Quick Dis meet update. We had a wonderful time about 50 people showed up. RFC has really good food, though a bit pricey well worth it. Though forgive me I didn't get dessert. I'm so sorry I meant too really but the kids lasted two hours and then were ready to go so I had to leave. There should be some pictures posted on the Dis meet board. See you tomorrow.

Hi all - we had a great day in the pool all day today. I'm finally starting to get some color on this stark white skin of mine :)

This morning I made my PS for The Biergarten - I thank you all for your input. I'm looking forward to going there because we are really wanting to do something different. We normally go The Garden Grill, but it was time for a change. This was actually my last day of making PS's - I have been doing it all week and I'm going to miss the excitement that only the 90 day mark can bring.

s&k'smom - I'm glad you had a nice time at your Dis meet. I've never been to a Dis meet and I look forward to going to one in Chicago someday. I agree that the RFC is pricey - but it really is a great time. This is my DD's favorite restaurant and we try to visit the one in Chicago a couple of times a year.

Tomorrow my DH, FIL and DH's best friend are going to The Chicago Motor Speedway to drive Indy cars. They are so excited!!! The girls and I are also going to take pictures - it should be pretty exciting.

I hope you all have a good night and great tomorrow!!
