Just found this on the member website:

Welcome Home Wednesdays is the newest Member event at the Walt Disney World® Resort. These interactive gatherings, taking place on most Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. inside Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district, give Members and their family and friends the latest scoop through a high-energy, interactive game show. Deevy See, a beloved diva at many Member events, is among the zany cast o characters who may be the game show's surprise host on any given date.

Members and their family and friends enjoy light refreshments while testing their knowledge in a variety of Disney categories, including Home Resorts, Perks, Where in the World?, and the ever popular Mousellaneous.

Schedules and locations for Welcome Home Wednesdays are subject to change, so be sure to look for details in your check-in folder during your next Walt Disney World® vacation.

Sounds neat, but it also sounds like this will take the place of the Member Updates that also occur on Wednesdays at 4pm at SSR's Performance Hall.

I know they have a sales center on the BW but why the change?.

I just received this info in an email this afternoon. We are staying at SSR next week, and the email was titled "Helpful information for your upcoming vacation". The email stated "This weekly extravaganza takes the place of Member Update, and with a new name and location come other exciting changes!"

I wonder why the move ?

As I was reading it, I was hoping it would be for one of the member only parties at PI like last year.

I feel left out, we arrive at BCV this Sunday and did not receive this mailing.

We just got back from SSR, but our DS and DDIL are still there. They attended the Member Update yesterday at SSR and were told that would be the last one held at SSR. No reason given. Then they were told about Welcome Home Wednesday. Not sure what is going on, unless they are having trouble getting people to come to SSR for the updates. Boardwalk is very close to everything, so people could just leave the park for a couple of hours and go to the party. That might be what is going on, however, people will not be able to tour SSR units that way. Maybe they feel they don't need to hold tours because the people who are really interested in touring can come at specific times during the afternoon when the units are open. I guess we will just wait and see. They are always trying new things to get people interested.

You and I must have both done something wrong because I didn't get one either. But I don't go until September, plenty of time for them to change again.

I think you may be right about the location. Having the meeting @ BW is much more convenient to members staying at the other DVC resorts.

I wonder if it is the last one period or just for the summer. I know we have done something at Boardwalk the past two (?) years. Each with different names like Block Party Summer I think. It was different than a member update...we got freebies and pics with Mickey.
