Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

Probably :lmao:

I'm willing to spend a little more on clothes, but for me "a little more" is shopping at Lane Bryant and Torrid as opposed to WalMart or Target. Part of that is because their clothes actually FIT and aren't designed by someone who simply increased the size of the pattern, but designed it with a plus size woman in mind :lmao:

But anyway :) To each their own  :flower3:

I always look at the Torrid website, they sometimes have cute Disney tees, which always surprises me! :thumbsup2 I never buy anything from there though, I pretty much stick with Old Navy right now, they're clothes fit me, and they're pretty cheap! :cool1:

I want to sit here and whine! I want to go in October for Food and Wine!! Waaaah!! :sad1:

Okay, I'm over my hissy fit.

For now. ;)

I saw your solo comment on my PTR. I love going solo. I thought it would be weird but I really liked it. You can do whatever you want, when you want and just to Disney how you want. My husband is very agreeable but I still found I really liked going by myself sometimes. Which could be why I'm going crazy trying to figure out a quick solo trip for September.

And hey...I know someone going in January that would be up for a DISmeet. :rolleyes1

LOL! :rotfl: I'm going to be whining in November and December when everyone is getting ready for their Christmas Disney trips! Just the thought of not seeing the castle all lit up this year...I haven't fully accepted that I'm not going for the holidays this year! :sad1:

I think I'd be ok going solo, the thing that scares me is being in a room alone at night. I think I'd feel safer in a deluxe resort, since most of them have the doors on the inside, with hallways. Not that the values and mods are unsafe, I have never felt like I wasn't safe at Disney at all, but alone, that might make me nervous!

I think I'm going to wander around a park alone for an hour or two this year, let Brandon sleep late and meet me there or something, just so I can see what it's like to be alone! If I end up calling him within 20 minutes of being there, I'll know I can't handle a solo trip yet!

I got so excited when the booth info was released yesterday!

You've got some great choices!

Thanks! I was wondering what was taking so long with them releasing the info, they released it a lot earlier last year, and then just like that, the menus were out! :yay: I can't wait to try everything!

Ok, I'm hungry! And jealous that I'm not going to F&W! I want to go soooo bad!

LOL! You and Miguel should go for a long weekend, you live close enough! Maybe go the very first weekend of October? :rolleyes1

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now I want to go in October for Food and Wine SOO bad!!! I'm attempting to pretend Food & Wine doesn't exist so I don't get super-envious, but that's never going to happen!

All of those dishes sound wonderful, you're going to have the best time! Someday I'll go...I have to!!!

LOL, I hope you get to go in October some time! I'm so happy I'm finally going, I've wanted to for so long, but I didn't think I could bring myself to skip a Christmas trip for a year...but I finally had to do it this year! I just hope it's not too crowded and hot, it seems like a lot of people are going the first week!

oooh!! I'm going to have to scope out that map like asap!!!!! I get the reloadable gift card and wear it all the time at Epcot lol. I'm happy to say that I'll be 15 mins from home this year!! :)

oh YUMMY!!!! Everything sounds delicious!!! You will have a blast... and have made me hungry! LOL :)

I really want to go at Christmas time too. My problem is I can never save my vacation time at work until December. :lmao: We shall see, we have talked about going in December in 2012 so maybe that will work.

DBF and I went through each booths menu when we saw the 2011 guide was up!! :goodvibes

We picked out practically everything you mentioned in your update, as well as some more that I might want to try! Ive been twice during F&W and only tried a few things...isnt that crazy!! DBF has never been during this time...so we are going to try everything we can...and keep in mind your recommendations of past things you have tried and are re trying!! :goodvibes Anything that you didn't like at all?

I don't know much about the booths as we've never been to F&W, but the plans look great.

I was a big Coach bag lover. That was when my boss was on the board of the company and got me one every year at more than 1/2 off the price. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The F&W menu sounds amazing. But for some reason it is really depressing me SINCE I'M NOT GOING! Boo!

But I am happy for all my DIS friends who are and I am going to start putting in special requests for virtual taste tests!

I have never been to F&WF but after reading your post I am eager to get started on planning what I want to try! Your list looks very ambitious, but I'm afraid once I start looking at all there is to sample I'm going to need to add 5 more days to my trip just for F&WF! :lmao:

I do like the VB hipster you picked up (even though I'm another one of those people that doesn't really get into VB). Sometimes, I see people carrying a VB bag on the street and think "OH...that's cute." Than I go look at them in the store, throw one over my shoulder and look in the mirror and think NO WAY...TOTALLY NOT ME!! Idk...to each her own I guess!

Love the food plans and thanks for the link! Can't wait to scope it out and make my own plans :cool1:

Thanks, no problem! I love the Disney Food Blog, I'm constantly reading something on it! I love their cupcake reviews! :rotfl:

LOL, yeah, I'm hoping I get to try at least one thing from each booth this year, since we didn't really get to do that much last year. We went the last weekend of F&W, and it was really crowded! That's why I'm happy I have a whole week this year! And it still doesn't seem like enough time!

I didn't get into VB for a while, so I can understand that! Some of the patterns are too crazy for me, I like the more simple patterns with only a few colors, rather than the crazy ones with every color of the rainbow! I'm still not sure if a hipster is "me" but I guess I'll find out at Disney! :rotfl:

The Belgium booth sounds amazing!! I loveee mussels!!

I love the Belgium booth, and Brandon was obsessed with those mussels last year! That Godiva iced coffee is SO good too!

The F&W menu sounds amazing. But for some reason it is really depressing me SINCE I'M NOT GOING! Boo!

But I am happy for all my DIS friends who are and I am going to start putting in special requests for virtual taste tests!

Well hey, next year you're doing a re-do of your East meets West trip during October right? And I'm pretty sure I invited myself along on that trip...:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I don't know much about the booths as we've never been to F&W, but the plans look great.

I was a big Coach bag lover. That was when my boss was on the board of the company and got me one every year at more than 1/2 off the price. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks! I don't really know much about F&W either, we only got 2 nights there last year, all I know is, Saturday nights are CRAZY! :rotfl:

Wow, that must have been nice, getting a new Coach bag each year for 1/2 price!:yay: I haven't been keeping up with Coach lately, since I've been obsessing over Disney D&B bags!

oooh!! I'm going to have to scope out that map like asap!!!!! I get the reloadable gift card and wear it all the time at Epcot lol. I'm happy to say that I'll be 15 mins from home this year!! :)

I'm so jealous you can go any time you want! I'm probably going to get that gift card this year, the one you can wear on your wrist, it seems like a good idea, instead of shuffling around for your money each time you're at a booth!

oh YUMMY!!!! Everything sounds delicious!!! You will have a blast... and have made me hungry! LOL :)

I can't wait!!!! It seems like it's NEVER going to get here! :rotfl2:

I really want to go at Christmas time too. My problem is I can never save my vacation time at work until December. :lmao: We shall see, we have talked about going in December in 2012 so maybe that will work.

I know, it's hard not taking a vacation all year, just to go at the end of the year! I've seen people come and go on their vacations this whole year and I'm still waiting! I really hope we can do a quick Christmas trip next year, I really love it during the holidays!

I wish Brandon would look at the menus, but I mentioned they were out and he was like "so"? :confused3 *Sigh*. I guess he'd rather see what they have when we are there!

I don't think there was anything I tried that I didn't like, but we didn't get to try much, we only had 2 nights there, and the 2nd night was so crowded, we hardly did anything that night! We waited in line for margaritas at La Cava for almost an hour!! Everything we tried was just SO good! :thumbsup2

Day 5 Plans!

Hi everyone! Ugh, this is the 3rd time I've tried to write this update, and each time, I clicked on something, and the whole thing disappeared and logged me out! That's never happened! Hopefully I can get through this with no problems!

Anyway, before I start the Day 5 plans, I have some good news to share:

1. My ticker says one month! :yay: Well, ok, one month, 4 weeks and 2 days...but still, we're in the one month range now!

2. I lost 2 more pounds! That puts me at 13 total, I think! My goal of losing 30 pounds by my trip actually seems like it could happen!

Monday Day 5!

We're going to have an early morning on Monday! Gotta get up and race over to AKL to make our breakfast ADR at

We love Boma, so it's a must do for us now, but...since we are going to be out so late with DHS magic hours the night before, I might have to make the ADR a little later!

Once we are finished eating, we'll go over to Animal Kingdom!

animal-kingdom-sign-2-1.jpg

We'll have to go on Everest a few times

799px-Expedition_Everest.jpg

and the safari, of course

kilimanjaro-safaris-300x212.jpg

and hopefully I'll get to see the Festival of the Lion King this time!

This is the day I have our late lunch ADR at TRex, but I'm most likely going to cancel it. It just seems like too much of a hassle to leave and go to DTD on this day. Maybe we will just do a CS for lunch, or I'll try to get a Yak and Yeti ADR. :confused3

Once we do everything in AK, we'll go back to WL for some much needed rest, and then head over to Epcot!

We'll go right for the World Showcase for some serious Food and Wine fun!

We don't have a dinner ADR tonight, so we'll be making our way to many of the booths!

Once we're stuffed, we'll end our night with Illuminations

wdw_epcot_illuminations-282x300.jpg

and then go over to MK for magic hours!!

(I love that picture, it's the background on my computer!)

I have to go on my Peoplemover at night, to see Tomorrowland all lovely and neon

and I really want to try BTMRR at night!

btmrrsign.jpg

Other than that, no definite MK plans, just whatever we feel like doing!

That's it for Day 5, another crazy 3 park day! I've been really rethinking my itinerary for the first few days, I might be making a few changes, but I don't really know yet! Of course, I'll keep you guys updated!

Have a great weekend! :)

(It appears photobucket is being weird again and making my pictures huge, hopefully they will go back to normal soon!)

I can't believe how many 3 park days you have! Could you ever go to Disney without a hopper?? :rotfl:
I think no dinner ADR is wise! Fill up on those booths!
TREX is really yummy and a fun experience, but I agree-- seems kind of a pain to leave AK and go to DTD just to go back to Epcot.

Day 5 looks great, you are going to love F&W is so much fun eating and drinking around the world. Make sure you get one of those wrist card thingies as they are so much more useful and easy to load up with cash just for the booths :)

CONGRATS on the weight loss!! I am so happy for you!!!:banana::banana:

Plans sound great, that is a lot of park hopping, I get tired just reading about it.

I'm going to say again how jealous I am that you get to enjoy food and wine festival. There are too many times of year I want to travel to Disney in! I should just move down there, it would be more affordable that way. :rotfl:

Can't wait to see if you change your plans around. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a busy day! Three parks and possibly DTD!
BTMRR at night is awesome! It is my favorite time to ride it. And you should definitely try to see FoTLK, it's my favorite show, and I feel like it's worth the time spent watching it. :thumbsup2

You crack me up with your three park days. :lmao:

Sounds like you have a great day planned overall.

I don't know if you've ever had it, but Yak and Yeti counter service is a pretty good option too, if you don't want to bother with an ADR. The food is very good. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the weight loss!! What exactly are you doing to shed the pounds?? I figured once I start working in 2 weeks, the temptation of eating out will be gone since I'll be working while my roommate has her days off and so on lol.

Sounds like good day 5 plans :)

Girl, eventually your husband is just going to sit on a bench somewhere and refuse to get up! Another 3 park day? You are CRAZY! :lmao: Maybe you could treat him to the leg and foot massage they have at the GF spa...

We did that a couple of times last trip and my feet HURT! Which is exactly why we WON'T be doing that this year. Don't get me wrong when we go places that we have to walk a lot, I'm the leader and telling everyone to move it but I so do pay for it later!

We'll be at MK that night for EMH as well, of course. I love riding Jungle Cruise at night for some reason. The same goes for BTMRR. I don't think I've ever done People Mover at night, perhaps we'll try it!
