Hi! Im just wondering, how does everyone plan to get their welcome bags for the guests to Disney??? Im entertaining the idea of making some for the guests, but the logistics hold me back. We live in NY so we'll be flying down for the wedding...idk if TSA will let me walk through with all my wedding welcome bags :rotfl:

We are bringing most of the supplies with us in pieces on the plane (we are coming from TX). We are using white paper bags that we ordered. We are putting labels on them with our names and wedding date on them which we are sticking on the bags before we leave. We are bringing lanyards, bags, and wrappers for water bottles and chocolate bars.

We are also going to walmart (our another local store) to buy candy, water bottles, and other snacks to put in the bags while we are in FL. We plan on taking a couple of hours one day before the wedding to load the bags and put the labels on the bottles and chocolate.

I don't know how much this is going to help but it's how we are approaching the welcome bags. I hope it doesn't take too long but we have ~50 bags to put together.

We're shipping as much as we can to our hotel. With most airlines charging $25 per suitcase (and some airlines are getting cranky with the size of carry-ons), UPS/Fedex will be a lot cheaper.

Plus if you ship it early enough, you can confirm it is there and where it is (lobby, storage, someone's name, etc) and one less thing to worry about when you arrive.

I am shipping too!:goodvibes

We shipped everything to our hotel. It worked out great. We had to ship our wedding items anyway so we just through the welcome bag stuff in.

I didnt know that you could do this! Would I just ship so that it arrives the day before or the day we arrive to the resort??? Will they hold on to it?

Yes you can ship them to the hotel. I know BostonDisneyBride did this and I think it worked out well for her. We drove so were able to hand deliver our bags to our guests hotels...but I would ship if I were flying.

We shipped ours and it worked out perfect. I just added the water bottles to them when we got to the hotel.

I'm mailing stuff with my final mailing...I've been doing newsletter updates and each mailing has had something different in them...

I would say have it delivered a couple of days before so you can see that it was delivered and then call the next day to confirm where exactly your packages are (are they at the lobby, in storage, will it be brought to your room). I would just call to confirm how to have the package addressed as you won't yet have a room number.

I'm not sure if I should go crazy with the welcome bags. I know I have read that some brides put alot of effort and in the end it wasn't worth it?
What is your opinion??

My welcome bags were pretty simplistic in what I included. We just went to Walmart and got some $1 favors like hand sanitizer, sunscreen, shout wipes, etc. I spent a lot of time on the Welcome Newsletter and I wish I didn't spend nearly as much time on that. Most of my guests didn't get a chance to read through all of it! And I had a schedule of plans for future days that we didn't end up following.

I think about half my guests (8-9 people) made use of the things in the bag...the other half didn't stay in the parks so they didn't really need any of it! If I had to do it again I'd scrap the Welcome Newsletter for sure.

Hey! If you have any questions feel free to PM me..we just did this a few weeks ago. I shipped all the ingredients of the welcome bags as well as the bags themselves down to Disney approx 1 1/2 weeks before we arrived. I tracked my packages online and was relieved when I saw that they arrived safely. When I checked in, they let me know that I had 4 boxes waiting for me and that they would be delivered to my room within the hour of check in. We found our hotel room and within 10 minutes we had a knock on our door...they were our 4 boxes!! I got right to work and added all the last minute touches to them. After I put them together, we hand delivered them all to Port Orleans FQ check in (make sure if you do this you include on a tag on the outside of the bag, Guest Name, Check in and out dates, and their reservation number.). All of our guests received their bags when they checked in, we had ZERO problems!!

You can check out my PJ...I just posted pictures of the finished bags!
