Weirdest names for people...(Inspired by the cat name thread)

When my sister worked retail, she overheard a parent call their child "LaTrina". It's pretty if you don't think about it. ????

I personally know Copper Penny, April Snow, Crystal Bell, and Rose Thorne.

This always made me chuckle. Several years ago we had 3 sisters who worked for the bank. Their last name was Seed. Their first names were Caraway, Poppy and Sesame. I kid you not. T think those parents need some serious help.

Oh, I forgot. I know a Heaven too. her sister's name is Destiny. Their parents are expecting again. I have no idea what label they are going to afflict this one with but I personally suggested Infinity. I have a niece named Leila. My ex-BIL has a new baby named Sierra.

I like traditional names as well but if I ever have a daughter her middle name will be Piper.

In DD's Class, Shapiphany, Tamecia, amd Paras.
In DS's Class, Ademola, and Nayonna.

I remember being at a party once and a man introduced his wife and daughter, "This is my wife ? and my lovely daughter Dorcas.

Dorcas being an Irish name by the way. Still quite a shocker to hear that though.

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

I knew of someone who worked in labor and delivery at an inner city hospital about 20 years ago. There was a woman who had a little girl, and when they asked what she was going to name her, the lady said "I just heard the nicest name when I was here. Her name is Placenta."

My grandfather married a woman named Merry Christmas! There was more than one of those freaks out there!

Years ago in our old neighorhood there was a boy named Liberty. My husband is a teacher in a well-known inner city HS and he has students with some very wierd names.

My cousin will be naming their baby Hayven. (girl)

I know two little girls named Hope and Faith, and thier mother is pg with her third girl. Guess what her name is? Charity. And she has told me that if they have another girl, her name would be Destiny.

I've also met a little girl named Patience, and she will use up all of your patience when you have to deal with her! She is a very energetic, talkitive child!

A friend of mine has a student named Thynthia ....... pronounced like you would say Cynthia if you had a lisp ....

This is a great thread!

I used to work at a car dealership and I can think of a couple of examples. We had a regular customer, a very nice older man, whose name was Sterling D*ck. This is not the name you want to page over the intercom, "The vehicle is ready for Sterling D*ck." Especially when you work with 20 mechanics who have seen the car in the shop and KNOW it's coming. Once I knew who he was, I used to go wander around until I found him so I wouldn't have to page him!

One day, I had a customer who had a question about the repairs that had been done. I told him I'd page the mechanic and the shop foreman. I got on the intercom and said, "Ricky Nelson and Joe Lewis, please come to the service aisle." The customer looked at me and said, "You're just making up names now, aren't you?" Imagine his surprise when they both showed up! I was so used to the names, I didn't think about them anymore. I also worked with not one, but two guys named Fabian.

Another place I worked with a woman whose last name was Jones. She got married to a man named Smith. I just found that very amusing that she changed her name from Jones to Smith.;)

my Dd has a friend who is Autumn ( not bad ) but this girl has sisters named Summer ( again not too bad ) and Spring !! ( HUH ) and if there is another child then the mom has said it will be Winter - boy or girl !!

I have a Megan she is 10.. nice easy for a kid to spell and pronounce but I have a 2nd cousin ( 6 weeks older then my meg ) who is MEAGHANN !!!!! can I tell you how mad I was when I found out they choose the same name - since we had been telling everyone for months of our choicein name and then about 2 weeks before MEAGHANN was born my cousin and wife announce they were using that name !! oh i cried for days .. but we do not see them often ( maybe once a year ) so the only tricky time is Christmas - we have to read the tags carefully - DD is now 10 and we had to hand back some packages as she read the tags and noticed her name spelled funny !!

I also have a DEVON - he is rather a devil too in our family I have uncle named BUB ( real name is harold but he signs every thing BUB )

One of the cashiers at the Kroger I go to is named Fortunate.

Dorcas is in the Bible as well.. she was a woman in the book of Acts (I think) that was healed. She was a well loved woman and a seamstress.

I've seen this as well... Myqq .. its a popular name, aka Mike

There's a new person on the cast of Saturday Night Live.. his name is Finesse (yes, like the shampoo)

There is a funny story in a Beverly Clearly book about someone named Chevrolet!

My great-grandfather's name was Sylvester Theopholus Biggs - Glad they didn't pass that one down.

I knew a kid growing up who was named Aaron Weiser - His brother's name, however, was Bud.

My English teacher married a guy with the first name Brown. They named their kids Grey and Rusty.

My DH has an aunt a few generations back named "Buena Vista" (first and middle names). As the family story goes, her "vista" was not so "buena!"

There seem to be lots of kids named after cars lately...I'm wondering were they conceived there or something? Funny thing, they're not even all luxury cars... Anyway, we've heard

Kia
Diamante
Sephia
Mercedes
and several others but can't remember them now

Mercedes is a very popular Hispanic name.. its been for many years prior to the car.

I am also pretty sure Sephia is as well. (I could be wrong)
