We are looking into this and I am wondering something. I know the maintenance costs are different for each resort but are the prices per point different as well?

Yes they are. Resorts like BLT and Aulani are at the top of the price scale ($140pp) and AKV sits mid price range (isn't it up to $120pp now?) while limited contract at SS are lower in price (I believe about $100-$110pp). If I am wrong one of my other fellow DVCers will kindly correct me. There was just an email sent out the the DVC community that hinted prices will be increasing soon!

the prices quoted by the prior poster are direct prices. be aware that resales go for much less...$50-60 per pt in some cases...(even less for off-property resorts like VB, but i wouldn't recommend that for stays at wdw.)

but supply and demand also affect resale pricing. so resorts like BCV/AKV are a bit higher than SSR/OKW...

gothtb: click on the ad at the top for the Timeshare store to learn about DVC resales -- getting a smaller resale bunch of point can be a good way to start. Well, renting some points is the best way to start if you're not familiar with timesharing. you might also visit http://tugbbs.com/forums/ to learn the basics; there's a DVC forum there also. Read lots of the threads here to help you -- it's very complicated, and is an expensive, long-term financial commitment.

Unless you need the 11 month booking to visit Disney buy SSR or OKW resale. You will pay less and they are the 2 bigest resorts at Disney World. If you want another resort and can't get at 7 month you have a better chance of getting in at SSR or OKW.
