WEIRD Question about Olivia's

I just made a reservation for my husband and I to eat at Olivia's in September. While making the reservation, the CM gave me the STRANGEST warning....she said that since there are just 2 people in my party, she has to warn me that there is a chance we will be seated at a table with another party of 1 or 2 (!!) since all of the tables are 4-tops. I was like "REALLY?!?!?!??"....this is extremely odd-sounding to me, so I wanted to know if anyone on the DIS knew anything about this. There is NO WAY we'll go there if there is a chance we'll be seated with another couple...we're really private people :) If anyone has any clue what this CM is talking about, please fill me in!!

Thanks!!

We're DVC members and OKW, where Olivia's is located, is our home resort. My husband and I have had many, many meals there when it was only the two of us. We were never asked to share a table.

I have to think this is a case of CM error. I have no special knowledge of Olivia's other than having eaten there a couple times, but it does not at all seem like the kind of place that would do that. As far as I know this happens only at Biergarten and Mitsukoshi Teppenyaki in Epcot.

If I were you, I'd call back and check to make sure she gave you the ressie at Olivia's.....doesn't sound right to me.....been there and many couples eating at tables by themselves.

Thanks for the input, guys :) I think I'm going to call back tomorrow and check with another CM.

There are a few things wrong in their computer system. Such as at Marrakesh, it tells them to warn people they may be seated with others. That's NOT true; there are individual tables there and not group seating. Olivia's may be another restaurant that is wrong in the system for whatever reason.

I'd call back tomorrow, ask for a confirmation, and if the CM tomorrow says the same thing I would chalk it up to an error in the computer. There are very few restaurants at WDW in which you would be seated at large tables with other guests - and Olivia's isn't one.

No worries!

Having stayed at Old Key West many times we have also eaten at Olivia's many times. Never once has it been crowded. This makes me think that there would never be a need to seat 2 couples at one table. There are plenty of tables to go around! I also think the CM was misinformed.

I'm glad to hear it--the menu sounds really, really good so my husband and I would like to try it out! We love walking around other resorts too, so that should be fun :cool1:

We have eaten at Olivias many times and never had this problem. Heck, on a couple of occasions, we just showed up for dinner and were seated within a couple of minutes with no ADR's...smjj

I have been to WDW many times and I have never heard of Olivias. How is the food? Service? DH and I are always looking for new places to eat when we visit!
