Weird observation about the Masters.

to the OP, I think once Tiger started wearing the mock turtleneck, everyone started. Comfort is a big thing for the players, and I personally like the look.

Anyone else out there think Phil looked just fine?? He has worked so hard to get where he is...we've all done the "a few pounds up, and few pounds down" thing. And I LOVE a little boy to have long hair w/cute curls...it's probably the only time in his life he can get away with it and be a little cutie-petutie!!

I lost my "baby pounds", surely he could lose his extra poundage...especially since he is an athlete, and it could only improve his career! :)

And, little boys don't have to look like girls to be cute.

Now, my nephew has longer and curlier hair, but it is by his choice...and he is a babe! :p (He's 21!)

I never knew that about Freddy! How sad.

No. I'm no fan of the collared shirt rule. Actually, that's not strong enough as I think the rule annoying and idiotic. Note to golf world - if you want people to think of you as a sport and athletic event, a rule banning people from wearing athletic clothing while participating is self-defeating.

But what do I know - golf seems to be thriving without my input.

You've got a point, but I think the guys just look classy in their attire. So much better than the women, I think.

Really.... Everytime the masters is on all DH and I can say is thank goodness we do not live there anymore. I worked for a chain drycleaners in Augusta (silverstein's, I'm sure they are still going strong) and all the out of town customers for the Masters were big jerks. I however did not work at either branch that the golfers used. It was the spectators I dealt with. Traffic was always horrible during masters, which meant we never knew what time the laundry(or laundry and drycleaning when I worked at drop off locations) would be back in to the store.

I have learned to stay away from Washington Rd. at the busiest times of the day, so traffic isn't all that bad for me. We live right across the street from West Lake, which is just outside Augusta in Martinez, but is a HUGE subdivision for renting to Masters' golfers and visitors, so all we see are the limos (we always say we live on the poor side of the street ;) )! There's a Silverstein's at the Publix shopping center right up the road, which is where I always run into Masters' visitors--you can always tell them because they're always wearing their golf gear and don't look, sound or act very local--and they're usually confused because they're looking for more coloquial items that Publix doesn't carry. :)

I've only ever met one golfer in person--I don't remember his name, but he was from Wales. He stopped to talk to ds in Publix, and was extremely kind and personable. My dh, who's a huge golf fan, went crazy when I told him whom we met. All I know is that I loved his accent. :sunny:

It's been 15 yrs since I've lived there so I know a lot has change. The last store I worked at was in a shopping Center(the first one on the right after turning onto Columbia) on Columbia Rd, so I know Martinez very well.
