Weird NYE coming up. We have no traditions!

We have always visited family in another state the week after Christmas. Both our families live(d) in the same town. This is the first year we haven't gone. Last year we were moving my mom up here. After years of visiting parents, the only one still living lives a few blocks away. My husband's sister, who always threw a big family gathering every NYE is gone visiting one of her adult children. We were very happy not to be traveling, but it literally dawned on us we have no traditions here. I guess we're wide open for suggestions! (We've always missed a gathering one of our friends threw annually, but they are gone this year too.)

Hmmm.... What should we do?

IMO, traditions are over-rated.

Pick your favourite food to make or order in. Lie on the couch and turn on the tv. Watch a movie, or a New Years special. Maybe go for a walk if the weather is nice.
Have a drink. Enjoy!

Drinks, appetizers, and board games are always a solid choice. I've done that many years with friends, extended family, or just immediate family. Turn on the ball drop in the background.
