Weird memory maker question for group with different start days

Hi all,

We've bought memory maker in the past so generally know how it works. We're going to disney later this month with a big group and multiple families. I was going to have my husband get memory maker and have him be in charge of downloading and sharing all the photos to the whole group after the trip.

He went to look into it on the app and saw that my sister in law already shows memory maker on her account. She had a trip planned that was canceled over covid. She got her money back but still has memory maker from when she had previously paid for it. She already talked to someone at disney and sounds like memory maker doesn't expire and will work for our group on this upcoming trip!

My immediate family arrives January 22nd. We may go into a park on arrival day assuming flights are on time. We're definitely going to MK the 23rd. The rest of our group (including the person with memory maker) arrives on the 23rd and our first park day with the full group is the 24th.

So here's the question... will my family be able to get our pictures from our first two days? Or will memory maker not "start" until my sister in law's first park day on the 24th?

As long as you're all linked as friends/family, it will work as soon as you arrive. I buy it for our large family trips, so it's technically on *my* account, but our one son and his family always arrive 2 or 3 days before my husband and I do and his pictures from those early days show up.

Because it's on your sister-in-law's account, she will have to be the one to do the downloading and sharing. What our family does is when we get home from vacation, I change my password on my Disney account and let everyone (it's our adult kids) sign in and download the photos themselves. Once they've all done that (usually in a day or so), I change my password again so that no one has access to my account. Obviously this requires a bit of trust that no one with the password is going to go into your account and do anything other than download the photos.

Awesome, thank you, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear!

In the past my husband has put them in a shared folder (maybe on Google drive? I forget) so the other families could get access. The password trick would be good too so everyone can just download the ones they want, instead of one person downloading EVERYTHING. We all know some aren't keepers 😂. But as long as we get all of our pictures from the first couple days linked then I'm happy! We'll figure out the downloading later! Thank you!

Yes, putting the photos in a shared folder works, too. I think our family is still stuck in the habit of sharing the password from the old days when everyone wanted to do a whole bunch of edits/enhancements to their pictures before they downloaded them (we'd end up with over 1,000 photos because of that. :D). Now that photopass doesn't offer all those fun editing/enhancement options anymore, it's much less complicated to share it.
