Weird food eating rituals!

I think it's funny that people don't like their food touching. I love to mix mine together. I eat mashed potatoes and corn together and whenever we have goulash or stroganoff I always mix the vegetables in with it.

I don't mind my foods touching unless it is a salad!! My salad HAS to be on a separate plate or in its own bowl. I cannot stand for salad to overlap with the rest of my meal!

corn mixed with mashed potatos is SO WRONG!

My husband finishes one item on his plate before he goes to the next and then drinks his tea at the very end. I find that strange.

I just had to reply! I am one of those that needs to eat one thing before moving on to another until my plate is clean. I also eat my reese's PB cups by eating the choc. around the sides then eating the middle. I love to eat meat (ham roast beef, etc.) sandwiches with 'Tato Skin Chips on it. I love the crunch. Yes some will say weird, but these are some things I really enjoy!!

Keep posting, maybe some new concoctions will inspire us!!

I don't like to my food to touch on a plate and I eat one thing at a time (first corn, then potatos, etc.). Also, when I eat a hamburger, I eat around the edges first. :D

OH thought of another -- Tuna W/ Miracle whip on soft white bread with a helping of Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips on it !!

I already explained that I can't have my food touching, when people tell me it all goes to the same place my response is: Well IF we were supposed to eat like that then we would have feeding troughs instead of plates! When I eat a sandwich I eat the edges first and then the good stuff.

I love potato chips placed inside a sandwich. I love the crunch. I also like a piece of white bread in tomato soup. Love to pid tuna sandwhiches in tomato soup as well.

I can eat melted cheese on just about anything. I love raw mushrooms and potatoes also.

Peanut butter, mayo and lettuce sandwich.

My DH thought it was gross until he tried it.

DH taught me this one - diced onion in mac & cheese - YUM!!

Interesting thread.. :)

Let's see - I like my own homemade mac & cheese (made with New York Sharp cheese) and it has to be accompanied by french-style green beans (with a hefty shot of garlic salt on them) and a very tall, very cold glass of milk..

The only food item I can eat while drinking coffee is a tuna fish sandwich (made with Miracle Whip)..

When I have tomato soup, I must have tuna fish (made with Miracle Whip) on a hot dog roll - which then gets dipped into the soup..

When I have a liverwurst sandwich (with mustard) it must be accompanied by a hefty scoop of cottage cheese and Lays potato chips on the side..

Macaroni salad must include tuna, onions, and peas..

Mashed potatoes must be whipped with evaporated milk..

Can't eat jello unless it has evaporated milk poured over it and is then sprinkled with sugar..

And before I was unlucky enough to develop diverticulosis, I loved whole kernel corn mixed in my sloppy joes!!!

Yep - we're definitely a weird bunch! :teeth:

Definitely eat M&Ms by color, I do the same with Trix cereal too.
I have been known to eat the outside of a fried mozzarella cheese stick forst leaving just the cheese for last :)
I dip my steak in sour cream.
I use sour cream on chips and doritos instead of french onion or some other kind of dip.
In fact I'm sitting here eating Bugles dipped in sour cream right now-- I like I have a sour cream problem!! LOL

If I get a burger from McDonald's or such, I look around the burger to see which side MOST of the cheese is on, then I save that side for last ;)

I prefer french fries dipped in ranch ( to ketchup)
If I get a club sandwich, I want ranch on it, not mayo.

That's all I can think of right now

BTW  Hey Lauri! I haven't talked to you in so long! I hope you and Matt and the doggies are doing great!
Did you see my new baby? ( he's in my sig!)

Cheeseburgers have to have the ketchup and mustard on the opposite side of the cheese....no cheese with ketchup for me.
When eating dinner, I have to eat a little of each all the way through the meal, saving the favorite taste for the last bite.
Salad has to be in separate bowl/plate from the rest of the meal.
Mashed potatoes have to have gravy. No gravy, no potatoes
Baked potatoes, butter, and sour cream. NO exceptions.

Okay, you people who eat M&M's by color are just plain strange. The way *I* eat them is the right way. I take them all out of the package and line them up in rows of the same color, with the color that has the most on top and the least on the bottom (this could be tough if you eat a regular size bag but I generally just have one fun size at a time). Then I eat from the ends one at a time until all of the rows make a triangle, like this:

******
*****
****
***
**
*

When I have that pattern, I eat the rest of them off the end, starting with the longest row so that my triangle shrinks in size by one diagonal row each "round." The average number of m&m's in a funsize bag is 23. The lowest I have ever found was 21, the highest was 26. I once had a catfight with my friend who also eats her m&m's in creative ways because her bag had only 21 and mine had 26 and I only gave her 2 to even them out, still leaving me with one more than she had.

When you're in grad school and you need a 10 minute mental health break but don't have time to do anything actually fun, sorting your m&m's in this way can be very theraputic (not to mention the sugar rush!) Plus it's entertaining to see the look on the faces of people who haven't been around as long as you have as they realize what their future holds. Okay, so maybe I am the strange one when it comes to M&Ms! DH just eats them by the handful!

My DH takes his French fries and lines them up according to size and irregular shapes. Then he eats smallest to largest. This is a family joke and we love to watch/catch him doing this where ever we are eating!

when I eat a reese cup, I punch the middle out and eat it first, saving the outer chocolate rims for last
YUUUMMMMMMMM

This was the funniest thing I have read in a long time!

I dip my grilled cheese into my tomato soup. I don't think it's weird, but my DH does.

That is how you are suppose to eat it! Sheesh your DH knows nothing. What is strange about me and my tomato soup is that I have to have an hardboiled egg with it. I know weird - but my Dad was in the army and believed that Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup didn't have enough protein for a meal. So we would have soup, sandwich, and a hardboiled egg. :)

When I'm sick I CRAVE cheery Kool-aid. When I was a kid that was what Grandma gave you along with condensed Chicken noodle soup and a plain ham sandwich.

I eat my M&M's by color, and my reeses pieces butter cups the edges are eaten first and then the middle.

I like to eat frozen grapes - try it sometime.

I'm big on certain foods not touching - like my salad form the rest of my meal and sometimes my veggies. I tend to takea stab at everything on my plate on one fork and then eat it.

When I eat pizza, I take off the toppings and eat them first, then I scrape most of the sauce off, roll up the crust and eat that last.

I scrape all but a little bit of lettuce off my McChickens.

I eat the outside edge of peanut butter cups first

If I have a bowl of shreddies, I MUST also have a piece of toast with just butter on it.

I eat the top part of a muffin first.

I eat the chocolate edges on a Twix bar, then eat the carmel off the top, then eat the cookie.

With M & M's, I put them individually in my mouth, crack the shell, eat the shell and THEN eat the peanut.

My water must be freezing cold at all times. I keep several bottles available and freeze them till they're just forming ice, then drink it and replace it with another bottle so I always have them.

I HATE when my salad is drenched by dressing. I like a very little bit on my salad, spread out evenly.

I let ice cream melt quite a bit, then I stir the heck out of it so it almost looks like frosting and then eat it.
