Weird food eating rituals!

I like to dip my fries in mayo, put chips on my sandwich, and my family laughs at me because I will make a sandwich out of anything. :p

LisaF....I, too, arrange M&M's geometrically by color but I always save a green one for last!

DoeWDW (Hi!) You'd love to eat at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, they serve their steaks in sizzling butter!

Like other posters I also like potato chips on a sandwich, especially bologna and, of course, you open your fast food burger and re-arrange the pickles! When I retire from the exciting world of broadcasting I'll be the pickle girl at Burger King.....show those young pups the right way to do it::yes::

I know this person that likes to eat sandwiches while sitting on the toilet.:teeth:

Hi Kathi!!!! I haven't talked to you in ages! Well I had been gone for ages from the DIS due to my AOSD but for right now I'm back for a little bit every day :) PM me so we can catch up!

I thought of other weird eating rituals but a lot of them have been covered here:

I eat my mashed potatoes and corn all mixed together - sometimes when I feel bad thats all I have!

When I eat a cupcake I lick all the icing off first then eat the cake

When I have a piece of layer cake I have to eat the icing around the top and edges first, then a layer of cake, then a layer of icing - repeat if there is more than one layer!

I have to eat the chocolate and caramel off of the top of a twix and then eat the cookie. With Kit Kats I eat the chocolate off all the edges and eat the wafer a layer at a time.

I go back and forth between biting the shells off of m&m's and eating that first and sucking the shell off until there is just chocolate left.

Like Kathi I also make sure I leave the side of the burger with the most cheese for last.,

I always eat all the crust off of my sandwiches first and save the middles for last.

On pickle slices I eat the edges first and then the middle

As a kid I used to eat about 1/3 of my bowl of icecream and then smoosh and mix up the rest until it was like a milkshake

man, the more I think about this the weirder I realize I am!!

This is fun, keep the weirdness coming! you can tell us! :) ;)

I guess I'm not as weird as I thought, since I also dip my Wendy's fries in my frosty, eat tuna with my coffee, save the cheesy side of the burger for last, and absolutely HATE when my food touches.

I also eat 100 Grand candy bars by eating all the chocolate and crispy rice first, then the caramel middle. And those bullseye caramel candies, I have to push the center of the candy out with my tongue first, then eat the caramel.

I always thought mine were weird but now I guess it's not so bad since you've already mentioned them!
I eat my hamburgers in a circle--around the edges first. I started doing this when I was younger so I'd end up with a bite of meat and not a chunk of bun with the meat gone.
I also eat Ho-hos chocolate first, then the cake part.

I dip my french fries, potatoe skins, and chicken wings into ranch dressing. DH thought I was weird until he tried it - now he does it too.

~Amanda

If I am eating cake I always remove the icing first and eat just the cake.
Must have rice not potatoes at meals.
Eat my sweet potatoes baked with butter only.
Won't eat stewed okra ever! Must be fried.

I am part of the "eat only one thing at a time, then move on to the next" crew...DH on the other hand has to have a little bit of everything in each bite, he is always adding a half-spoon of this or that to his plate to "even everything out." Then again, he microwaves his ice cream, too!

DD opens up the oreos (even minis) and eats the icing, then leaves the cookie! She is only 1 and I never showed her this (I don't eat them like that) she just did it on her own.

I do the cupcake thing too - take off the bottom half and eat it first. Sometimes if the cupcakes aren't too tall, I put the bottom half on top to "sandwich" in the frosting.

If I am alone I eat around the burger, the crust first of the pizza, the end of the burrito, etc. to save the best for last. That can get pretty messy so if I'm with people I try to be neater! On my dinner plate I always eat the stuff I like least first, and save the best for last.

OK--I am saying with all the love and affection that y'all deserve.

You are all  !!!!!!

I'm trying to rack my brain, and all I can come up with for me, is if I have a sandwich, I 'deconstruct' it to eat it. But it's easy for me, since I am a 'condiment free' kind of girl. No mayo, no mustard, no ranch dressing. So I just open it up, eat the cheese, the meat, and then the bread. (ok, ok, I'm a tad freaky too)

DH's family (8 siblings) all share an irrational fear of inhaling powdered sugar and choking to death.

I love to eat sloppy joes with potato chips instead of a bun. Kind of like a dip instead of a sandwich. When I eat toast, I have to very lightly butter the toast and make sure not to smash it at all. I eat mostaccioli one noodle at a time speared on one tine of my fork.

DS (4) likes to eat chicken nuggets with ketchup and must have pickles (sweet) if he's eating ham and cheese or a hot dog. He won't eat a ham and cheese sandwich, just rolled up ham and slices of cheese.

I guess not the weirdest food habit, but an unpardonable sin in Chicago, my home sweet home is that I like ketchup on hot dogs!!

Hmmm, that sounds yummy! I think I'll have to try that one real soon.

There are many things listed in this thread that I do. But I guess the most strange thing I do when eating is that apparently I plan every single bite and search my plate to get the perfect bite every time.

I 'peel' mozzarella sticks and just eat the cheese. I also don't like the skin on dill pickles, so I cut it off and just eat the center.:D
I love french fries with gravy and sour cream, NOT KETCHUP. (That stuff will kill you ~ it's made of tomatos!) :faint:

This was the funniest thing I have read in a long time!

I'm glad I amused you, that made it worth it to reveal my neurosis in public! I also got a tag out of it, so that made it even MORE worth it!

ibouncetoo, I understand the urge to save the green ones for last but usually that is just not mathematically possible if you still want to maintain the pattern. The green are never the most popular in a bag, usually it is either dark brown or red.

BTW, everyone will be glad to know that we went to the lord of the rings yesterday and I ate a bag of peanut butter m&m's. Not only was the bag too big to sort but it was too dark to sort them and I had nothing to sort them on. Sooo, I CAN eat m&m's without my previous sorting method but they need to be something other than plain (the extremely regular shape of the plan cry out for sorting).

I eat only pepperoni pizza, but first I remove all the pepperoni slices, eat the pizza with a fork and then savor each yummy slice of pepperoni. My family thinks that's weird, wait 'til I show them how you all eat your pizza :p

Oh my...I keep coming up with weird things that I do when eating. First I have to point out that I work at a mental Hospital and some of my co-workers seem to think I need to be commited for my food habits. When I eat a banana I have to take the peel all the way off, get rid of that lil end tab thingy and then most importantly I MUST get rid of all of those stringy things! I have a name for the stringy things too...BANANA WORMS!!! You should just see the looks you get from others when you talk about ridding your banana of worms before you eat it. :wave2:

I have to peel all those stringy things off a banana before I eat it too.

I just have to eat Hostess Cupcakes by eating the white frosting "squiggles" off first, then eating the chocolate frosting, and the cake part last.

I love peanut butter and Miracle Whip sandwiches and eating corn and mash potatoes mixed together. I also love onion rings but my stomach can't handle the onions - so I eat all the breading off and leave the onion.

My DS (6) has the wierdest eating habits I've ever seen - and I swear I didn't teach him any of them
He loves to eat refried beans cold - straight out of the can. He also likes white rice with ketchup and mustard on it.
