Weird Facts About Your PETS

My beagle sucks on a blankie when tired or scared ....or just for the heck of it

My cat Layla likes to lick Vaseline!

Ew! Tycho likes Neosporin, too. Nasty cats.

Gosh, weird things, weird things... Can't think of any. I'm pretty sure my boys are normal. I'm also pretty sure they didn't leave their room all day yesterday. What, you mean it's not normal for them to have an entire room? Other than that, they're pretty normal for cats!

My sister's cat chirps like a bird. And my mom's cat eats squash.

My cat is named el duque- we got him during the World Series 2 years ago, and he was named after then Yankees player orlando hernandez- but from day one he has been called either " devil boy" or "bad boy" . he won't eat unless i'm watching him, and will only eat Fancy Feast grilled turkey-if you give him anything else he tips his plate over. He barks at birds, and also plays fetch with suction cups and drinking straws.

My Tommy has his own sleep number on our bed he is a 15 now!

he has trained us to get up for him and move the switch to kick on the pump in the bed to either let the air in or out . Then when it reaches the sleep number he likes ( 15) then he goes over nad lays down and sleeps .

My cat is scared of people, she will hide in the basement if too many people are over, she is also afraid of the door, it takes her a while and finally she goes through, she also has one eye, she lost the other to a fight.

I have a dog that acts like a cat.

Well, I have just the opposite...a cat that acts like a dog! I call her "puppy cat" because she follows me around all day, wags her tail when I'm talking to her (whether she's awake or not) and she HEELS every morning when going downstairs to get fed! :)

She also has the habit of following me into the bathroom EVERY time, and many times she will use her litter box (in the downstairs bathroom) when I am in there using the facilities myself! Talk about female bonding... ;)

Angel does this weird vibrating thing with her tail whenever she's excited about something. It's really hard to describe, but i've never seen another cat do it.

She also will tap you on the arm if you are at the computer and she wants your attention. She has this "excuse me, but I'd like some attention" look on her face.

Tigger loves to play fetch with his mice, but it has to be the right one for him to bring it back. When he gets going though, he gets so upset if you stop when he's not ready to.

He likes to open the shower doors whenever DH or I are in the shower. He doesn't necessarily want to come in (although he does sometimes), he just wants to see what you're doing. It's funny to watch though, as he stands up against the door and digs sideways to get the door to slide.

Being a momma's boy, he likes to have me hold him like a baby. When I do, he'll put his paw on my cheek and he'll lick my chin. He has this utter look of love too, it's so cute - and makes DH sooo jealous since Tigger won't do that to him (the goatee doesn't help)

My boxer dudley was found by my nurse roaming the streets in St Pete. While asking around to find his home, it was discovered that his dad (owner) had died about a week before. Dudley had eaten all his food and drank all the water in his bowls and toilets. Then he ate a hole through the metal door to escape. He would roam the streets to get food and then return home. I never heard how his dad died or if Dudley ate him. I try not to think about that. Apparently, this guy and Dudley went everywhere together-- that's probably why he gets so excited when he sees men. That's my boy! Oh, and his dad had adopted him from the "pound." So, he's been a stray twice. People can't believe that I didn't pay loads of money for him.

Lulu, my 2 year old pekingese, has extradinarily large feet for such a small dog. Also, she's obsessed with my husband - whenever he takes a shower, she stands on the other side of the glass door, pawing at the door.

We've nicknamed her the "Galactic Princess Warrior".

Our cute little 13-inch beagle, Molly, will eat anything. Not chew, but eat anything. She has eaten glass, plastic toys, pine needles, pine cones, cat poop, diapers, you name it. Seemingly without any ill effect. And to top it off, she grunts like a pig when you rub her belly. Appropriate you think?

Oh my gosh, these are funnier than the weird things about ourselves. After I got home yesterday I started to think about the parakeet the dog ate. Mom and Dad had a large screened in porch on the front of the house and would let the parakeet fly free during the summer. It was then we found out that the parakeet was an alcoholic. Sunday afternoon it was a tradition to have a coctail and some snacks on the porch. This silly parakeet would fly over and sit on the edge of my Dad's glass of gin and tonic and drink. One day it decided sitting on the edge wasn't good enough and tried to step on an ice cube. Needless to say it sunk to the bottom of the glass and we had to fish it out. Now as to why it got eaten. The dog would lay down and watch the goings on out the screen door. This bird would fly down to the floor and sneak up on the dog and poke him in the nose. Do-Do, as Mom named the bird, did it once too often and Shaggy, the dog, (a cockapoo) got even. Hence one less parakeet in the world.

If you gave Keroppi (my dog) a steak or a piece of coconut... he would choose the coconut, he just loooooves it!

My mother had a cotorra (small green parakeet) that believed it was a dog. She had the feathers from one wing cut short, so she couldn't fly, and ran around the house freely... when the dogs started barking, she mimicked them... so if you came to my mom's house, the first to greet you where three dogs followed by Amore (that was it's name).

My cat does that, every morning when I wake up she's sitting next to me on the bed, waiting to get petted then she gets all purrin and 'in the mood' I guess you would say :p and goes and grabs part of the blanket in her mouth and then kneads the other part. Too cute.

She likes to sleep in my bathroom sink, and she's not the most coordinated kitty around, but she's my baby and I love her to death.

Oh yeah....our Max isn't a coordinated cat either. He's always stumbling over something.
We also call him bulldozer b/c he'll head butt us in order to get rubbed. He also will stand on his back legs and paw at my arm when I'm sitting in the computer chair. He wants attention. It's like he's a kid reaching up saying "mom...hey mom...I'm right here...see me?"

I have a cocker spaniel (Bugsy) that doesn't like to get his feet wet. If it's raining in the morning when he has to go outside to do his "business", we'll go out later and find poop on the cement patio as he won't go in the grass! God forbid if he had to get his feet wet!
We have to physically pick him up (in the rain) and put him in the grass!
It's too funny!!

My cat ,Belle, doesn't purr. She is 4 years old and never has. I think she's happy and content she just doesn't purr.

My new cat Tucha likes to pull plugs from the outlets in the wall.
Not a good habit, in my opinion. But we're working on it.

I've had two really weird pets..

One was a house-broken guines pig. He trained himself. We'd leave the cage open. When he was hungry, he'd sit in front of the fridge and squeak until someone fed him. If you spent more than two minutes on the phone, he'd give you the "times up" squeak" until you hung up. And, he loved to take baths in the dog's water dish. The dog was afraid of this little guy.

The other was a German shepherd/collie mix. During thunder storms, she would pull plugs out of the wall by stepping on them. Only time she would do it. She also had weird eating habits. Pasta had to have sauce on it (otherwise it would be hidden in strange places), she would not go out in the morning until she ate a banana (I swear I saw her cross her hind legs many mornings), and she hated peas. We watched her fold a scatter rug over, take the peas from her dish, put them on the floor, unfold the rug over them, and then walk on the rug until the peas were mashed! Ick!

Toby our almost 2 yr. old yellow lab whistles through his nose.
He also hates it when Steve hugs me.
When I take him to the cranberry bogs he will run ahead of me on the trail, but he always turns or runs back to me to see if I'm still coming. When we get close to the resevoir he runs ahead and I only hear the splash of him plunging into the water, then he runs back to see if I have a stick to toss to him.

My cat, Tiger, is obsessed with rubberbands. Any rubberband that ends up on the floor, she just pounces on and keeps in her "stash" with the rest of them. The funny thing is that we NEVER see her move them and her secret hiding place for all of them is her food bowl! Somehow she manages to eat with a pile of rubberbands in her food. I always like to take them all out and put them in diiferent places around the apartment-- and it never fails . . . . the next time I look, they are all back in her bowl.
