Weird Facts About YOU

Could be worse. You could look like Frank Burns.

:D Let's see.

I have a phobia of Leprechauns. They really freak me out! I can't even watch that new soda commercial with the little Leprechaun without turning my head.

I always wear socks except if it is unbearably hot.

I can't eat off someone else's fork.

I'm another person who loves rap music -- and Snoop. My favorite was B.I.G. but sadly we don't have him anymore. The weird part is that I hardly ever swear or drink and have never used an illegal substance in my life (just don't fit the stereotype of a fan of that kind of music).

And I'm back with more...

In my wallet, I have to seperate the $1 from all the rest of the money. The $5 $10 and $20 all go in one pocket and $1 in the other.

I like to save EVERYTHING! My room is so full of useless junk from vacations or from my friends... I need to go through and throw it away, but then I think I may need a ping pong ball that says "Love, Steve" on it some day?

Never make my bed, I like to be able to jump into it, and not have to un-tuck the blankets.

When I am bored I will do sit-ups... but only 10 at a time. I take about a min. break in between and then do more.

I like to drive with the windows down.. even when it is hot outside.

I will only eat Hershey Kisses if they are frozen... they just don't taste good when they are room temp.

I tend to use ... instead of a comma when I type :)

hehehe Maggie....

I use ...... when I type too. No icky comma's

I have been afraid to post but here goes.

I buy everything at the grocery store in 2's
I 'm afriad and I do mean AFRAID of...
Little people ( midgets)
clowns ( they are hiding something behind that makeup LOL)
Birds (I work at a vet clinic and I had to chase a loose chicken ! I thought I would die )

I think the most strange fact about me is that I still have my pillow that I got when I was around 3 ! I have to have it , I have had it sent same day mail to me when I forgot it when I went on a trip ! Sad part is I am 36 years OLD LoL

And I want to be the Tag Fairy when I grow up
Wishing everyone a Tagged night
Mishell

I don't post very often, but here goes...

My birthmark covers approximately 50% of my right thigh.

OK, here goes...

All my friends know, as I have stated many times, that I am not a hot-beverage person. I never, no matter how cold I am, drink any hot beverages (except for a once-a-year cup of lukewarm tea when I have a sore throat). When others sit down for coffee and cake, they get me a glass of Diet Pepsi, my favorite.

I can't stand touching wet, dirty plates after a meal. My DH thankfully loads the dishwasher after a meal!

Nobody can drink out of my glass if I am still using it - not my husband, not my daughter, nobody. My mother is still offended by this.

You know, right now I can't think of anything else...so why is my husband always telling me how odd I am? ;)

I can think of lots of weird facts about myself.

1) I can smell and taste glass. In all my life I've only ever met one other person who can smell glass. I can't drink from glasses unless it's with a straw because they are so nasty...I have to drink out of plastic containers. If you're curious at all, glass smells exactly like farts...sort of sulphery. Gross beyond words. If you don't smell it, you're very lucky.

2) When I moved from Ohio where they refer to carbonated beverages as pop, to Washington State where they refer to carbonated beverages as soda, I didn't know what to call the stuff! Soda seemed so bizarre after calling it pop for 23 years. I started refering to it as my morning motivation (the caffeine motivates me and I can't start my day until I've had it!). My favorite is cherry motivation. I have gotten so used to calling my cherry coke cherry motivation that sometimes when I go to a restaurant I forget where I'm at and I ask for cherry motivation. Needless to say, I always get these kinds of looks...

3) If I could visit one fictional place, it would be Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I'm totally enthralled by Harry Potter and friends!

4) I'm so obsessed with Indigo Girls (my favorite band) that I go on the road for weeks at a time following them around the West coast. I've been to over 30 shows in the last four years. I always photograph the shows...and even got my pictures published in Curve magazine.

5) The sound of somebody scooting across carpeting is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I don't know why...it just drives me crazy. It literally makes me feel nauseated.

6) I work at home as a web designer and I swear, I can't work unless everything in my office is just right. If anything is out of place, I have to fix it or else I can't think.

7) I am terrified of ants. I don't mind them when they're outside but I freak when I see one in the house. It's not the ant as much as what they do...they get on you. You know? They invade your personal space, and that is SO wrong.

8) I felt cheated in college because I wanted to major in so many things. I really wanted it all...every single class the university had to offer. By the time I settled for a double major in biology and pyschology, I graduated with over 350 credits. I'm now taking correspondance courses in computer technology. I think I'll probably take some kind of class til the day I drop dead from it.

9) I have a psychic bond with my best friend in Ohio. I always know when she's going to call, and I always know when she's in trouble...and it goes both ways. Whenever I need her and start to call her, the phone rings. 2,500 miles and ten years apart hasn't lessened that connection.

How's all that for weird?

ok here we go...

I can't sleep unless it is really cold in my room. Once its the right temp, I crawl under the covers and stick my feet out..no socks

I have this thing with crumpled paper. (especially tissue paper and paper towels) It grosses me out. When ever some tries to be funny and touches me with crumpled paper, its almost like I can still feel it touching me for hours afterwards. I can't look at it either....its just gross.

I can't drink milk before 10am.

I am terrified of spiders. I have actually put myself in harms way to get a way from a spider. I can't kill them with a shoe because I'm always afraid they are going to jump on me.

I can't watch scary movies at night for the first time...has to be during the day. (it could be that i live on the 3rd floor of a funeral home)

thats all for now...any more and I'm sure I'd be locked away somewhere

Im very very claustrophobic.... the thought of going a airplane is making me not sleep at night anymore.

That reminds me of another one of mine. I can't stand those nasty little things either, but if I'm home alone then I've learned that I HAVE to kill it myself. BUT I will NEVER use my own shoe to kill one - it has to be my husband's shoe. That way if their "family" can smell it they'll think he did it and not me!

By the way, about the PJ thinggy it's only at home, not when I'm in a hotel room.

Here's another weird thing I do. Every time we take a trip I get sick to my stomach, usually on the sidewalk in front of the house waiting for the cab. DH and I have been traveling for years, but I still do it.

I am VERY shy, so if someone doesn't know me, I can seem like a snob.

I have severe anxiety - I worry uncontrollably about everything. Things could be perfect in my life (and I have a pretty good life right now) but it seems I always worry about something out of my control.

ILUVDXL - I ALSO get sick when we take a trip. Not actual vomiting, usually, but my stomach is upset for atleast a day or two.

One of the weirdest things about me : I am fascinated by scary/horror/ghost stories. I am nuts, I know, but I love to watch them on tv or movies. The weird thing? They scare me to death, and I end up sleeping with the lights on. This is inevitable with any show of this type, but I am still drawn to watch it.....DH can't quite figure me out :-)

My turn, My turn!!

-I absolutely can't stand when someone scraps their plate with silverware, I would rather hear fingernails on a chalkboard.
-I have to have covers when sleeping and usually one foot hanging out but not off the bed(childhood fear that something will grab ahold of my foot)
-I love coffee ice cream, candy, the smell and hate actual coffee.
-I cannot stand anyone touching my feet, not even massaging-rubbing.....eeewww
-I stutter just a little, especially when I get excited
-all my shirts have to be hung the same way in the closet
-I have to make sure that the last bite taste good or it ruins the whole meal.

I think that's enough for now. Thanks for the laughs!!

I hate heights too, but I will fly.

I drink hot tea all year round, even in the summer and in Florida.

My Disney obsession drives non-Disneys nuts.

Im not so good at housekeeping.

Am the loudest cheerer at any sporting event my boys are playing in!!

Cries over almost anything, happy or sad.

Chrissi Pooh - it is so funny you should mention the sound of silverware on a plate.

When we have spaghetti for dinner, I use by fork and knife to cut the spaghetti, and DH HATES this!!

What's worse is when I eat, I tend to scrap the fork against my teeth, which he also can't stand....it is a habit that I never really can tell I am doing, but he sure does remind me!! ;)

Cute thread! I enjoyed reading all of yours so here are mine...:D

I don't like tomatoes fresh but like them stewed and like tomato sauces.

I also like to hang my feet out of the blankets at night, even in the winter.

I have to have 2 comforters on my bed, even in the middle of summer.

Im afraid of the dark (well, not really the dark, just the nuts in it).

I HATE big roller coasters (almost fell off one when I was 9). But flying doesn't bother me.

Jeanette

jeleebeene: I've always used a fork and knife to cut my spagetti, too and it embarasses my wife when we're dining out, especially at an Italian restaurant (I think the spoon thing is for people who shouldn't have knives...).

It's amazing how much we all have in common. Maybe it's the non-DISers who are actually weird...

Well, it's nice to know that everyone has their quirks!

I can't stand 'mouth noises'...people making mouth sounds (smacking, chewing, etc) when eating. It's so bad, that sometimes when DH is eating that I will leave the room. It really offends him, but he knows it's a quirk.

I cannot stand to have the back of my upper arms touched. If a hair falls out of my head and lands on my arm, I will go batty until I remove the hair.

I love anything with tomatoes, but HATE ketchup. I love the smell of coffee, but don't drink it...except for Barnie's white christmas coffee freezers! I actually drank about 2 ounces of their cherry cordial last month, which is a major accomplishment for me! I prefer to eat my french fries by dipping them in sour cream.

I hate eggs, but don't mind them as a component of other foods. My french toast can't be 'eggy', it has to be really crisp. I love fried rice, but only eat it if they don't scramble the egg into it.

I can eat one oreo or potato chip and walk away from the package. This really drives DH crazy.

I also like to savor my chocolate. One year, my boss gave me a small box of Godiva chocolates and I would take a bite of one and put it back in the box to enjoy later. After 4 or 5 days of this, DH took my by the shoulders and begged me to finish my chocolate in one sitting!

My current boss threw out a half a bar of chocolate that I had in the fridge at work because it had been in there for a month. I would break off a piece and let it melt in my mouth a couple of times a week. Mind you, it was a $4.50 bar of Scharffen Berger, not the cheap stuff. She thinks I'm nuts that I don't just eat the bar in one sitting.

If I like an article of clothing I have purchased, I will go back and purchase it in every color I like in my size!

When I first moved to Maryland, I got a job as a cave guide for the only commerical cave in the state.

All my CD's and DVD's are alphabetized, but the large collection of christmas music, videos and DVDs are separated out and alphabetized, too.

I'm still friends with almost all my ex boyfriends. I bought my high school crush (but never boyfriend) CD last month, and think it's cool that he 'made it big'.

If you have worked with me or went to school with me and I learned your birthday, I still remember it. On 9/11, I was concerned about 2 classmates that live in NY who had that birthday ruined.

I'm jokingly referred to as the "Answer Lady"...it happens wherever I work. Right now, it's mainly about movies and release dates!
