I want to try and make a mickey shaped magnetic door sign, that would fit over/around the round door plaque that features the room number.

Does anybody know the circumference of that circle plaque? What about the width of the door? Height of door above the plaque?

I figured you guys know EVERYTHING, so maybe someone even knows this.

Thanks in advance!

Susy

Anyone?

Even if you don't know for sure, want to wager a guess?

Thanks!

Thanks! Susy :listen:

OK, we did a very scientific experiment at our house.... :rotfl2: my husband and I both held up our fingers in a circle guesstimating how big they are...both came out almost the same....we say its 8 inches....I sure hope its right......

Thanks!

Any guesses as to how much door surrounding it I have to work with?

Susy

LOL! Have you tried posting on a cruise thread that is leaving in a week or a live thread so that someone can measure it for you? :)

We were in a handicap room and its been a while since we had a "regular" door, so I'd hate to guess. I do know that a wheelchair won't go through a regular door. I agree with the other suggestion....lots of groups going in the next little bit that could measure for you. Let us know how close we were, though, k? :sunny:

All measurements are inches.

The door is 28.75 x 77.75.
13.5 down from the top is the circular door marker that you ought to make allowances for...it has a 7.5 diameter.
The door assembly is 35.25 down from the top and is 9.5 tall. It extends from the edge 4.5.

:rotfl2: You are TOO much!!!! Did you find that somewhere or did you measure it? :rotfl2: Btw, how's the siding coming along? Haven't seen any updates lately.....

I know this same question was asked a few months ago and someone came up with the correct measurements....see, it is not such a far out question!!!

Actually, the credit goes to " winotracy" she posted it on our trip board and I
filed the info away in anticipation of needing it one day...

I will post some pictures on the siding. We actually decided to buy our own scaffolding instead of renting, so hopefully we will have 3/4 finished before the snow comes.. While we have been in limbo this past month with the lousy rainy weather we tackled one of the spare rooms, we now have a gorgeous craft & sewing room. On to the kitchen next...

Bye, Kim

Every time I think I've read it all on these boars, you guys floor me again!

Way to go Dis'ers!! Always have the right information, right at hand!

You guys are great.

I followed another board for an Alaskan Cruise this summer, that shall remain nameless [Cruise Critic. Ooops. It just slipped out.]

There can be some very mean people on other boards.

People here are (almost) always nice.

If there are two ways to read an email, we tend to assume they meant it the "nice" way.

Way to go, Dissers.

Jim

Here's a picture of our door. Maybe it will help with perspective!

We are kindred spirits - bride/bride. :bride: :bride:

I see you got married at YC, we had an intimate VR at YC gazebo 12/31/99 - it was lovely! Although you can't imagine the crazy crowds - there were 6,000 people lined up to get in the back door of Epcot for millenium new years eve - the line streched all the way down the gateway, past BC, even past the YC! We went out in Breathless after for pics with Minnie and Mickey - it was awesome! That night we went to the fancy Michael Eisner party at CA Grill and I wore my gown.

Anyway, door sign, right, stay on topic. :earsgirl: How did you make that big green mickey head sign? What is it made of? Did you use a template from online?

Thanks!
Susy

Also, any thoughts opions on having a dry erase board on your door? Whats the best kind?

Thanks,

Susy

We should have a Yacht Club Gazebo Club! My sister was married at the Wilderness lodge about a 10 months before us, so we scoped out all the intimate wedding sights. IMHO...Yacht club is the best!

As for the mickey head....someone from our cruise thread made them for everyone. I have a .gif that verhanda man sent to me though. PM me with your e-mail address, and I will send it to you!

OHH....I just noticed that you name is Susy! I'm Susan! :bride: :bride: How eerie!

I would just get a sheet of the magnetic paper and attach a sheet of paper, your color choice, and then sheet of clear plastic for the writing surface. You could even do artistic designs on the paper before putting plastic on it.
then get a contrasting color marker.
just an idea

Okay, trying to get all my "projects" done tonight.

What is the "door assembly" as measured out and described above?

Thanks so much - I need help!!!
