This may sound like a strange question, but I figured I'd ask anyway. DW & I recently started a Weight Watchers program, and I was wondering if the dietary info on foods at WDW resturants would be available on request so we could try to figure out our points while on vacation. We will try our best to stay on target with our goals :littleangel:, but stuff happens and I know that I might go over a weeeee little bit for our on upcoming trip(s) to WDW.

I would say no to getting any info on nutritional facts.

WW is great program, I have been on for a year now.
I was on vacation in Fla. for 16 days last Nov. while on program, well I was not on program while I was there and gained 6lbs. it was the longest six pounds to get off! Go in mind that you can make better choices, drink lots of water and do (in my opinion,) treat yourself to something while on vacation.

Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy WW it is wonderful.

WW lifetime member here....

If you are walking the parks everyday and make the best possible choices at meals you will be fine. Keep up with your water and share the treats instead of each getting one. Remember about portion size.

It really is not that hard to stick with it.

WW Lifer here, too! Back on plan to finally get rid of the last of the baby weight. :) At WDW, I have never tried to count every last point. It's so hard to stay on top of every last thing, and I'd rather focus on vacation! You're walking a lot, so that's a great head start, even though it's not exactly a big cardio workout. At the buffets, put fruit and veggies on at least half your plate, including any second/third/tenth rounds! Eat yer veggies and fruits first. Drink a ton of water. And treat yourself now and then. Have a great time!

Agreed...you really can't count points at most meals. You just do the best you can.

I believe many of the menus now let you know which options are lighter. Also if the side is something heavier such as potatoes or rice you can always subsitute a side of vegies. I wouldn't suggest doing the dining plan and if you want more than an entree- share an appetizer instead of a dessert. Also if you ask the wait staff- they can tell you which things are lighter on the menu.

I have had the same questions about WW and Disney. We're going in September and while I don't want to stress over every last thing I eat, I worry about gaining weight. I plan to take a box or two of my WW treats with me in hopes that it will help.

WW leader here!

First of all...you're going on vacation so HAVE A GOOD TIME!! That's what I tell "my" members.

Do what everyone here said. Make sure you stay hydrated and try to make the best possible choices. Also plan for one special treat a day. Decide if you want to have a margartia in EPCOT today or a sundae at Beaches & Cream. Don't splurge at every meal, every day on the "extras" (alcohol and desserts).

And don't be afraid to ask how things are prepared and tell them how you want it prepared (butter on the side, sauce on the side)..etc.

But again, and most importantly HAVE A GOOD TIME. WW is a lifetime thing and we're all going to go on vacations so don't stress too much!

I'm also on WW and a little worried about going WDW with all their great food. I'm going to watch what I eat and I know I'll be walking a ton so I'm not going to stress over it to much.
I have to go out and buy all new clothes for my trip nothing from last summer fits me, I'm so excited. DH has been very supportive of my WW loss but he wouldn't be happy to see the bill for new clothing.
Good luck! keep being a loser!

I'll also add that I now have a strategy for breakfast no matter where we're staying. I bring a stash of Luna bars (my favorite is the chocolate peppermint stick, as unbreakfasty as that sounds!) and some apples. We're on the DP most of our visits, so if I can't actually bring the apples with me, I use a snack credit to get one. I have the Luna bar and an apple for breakfast and refill a bottle of water from the fountains (again I'll use a snack credit to pick up a bottle early in the trip or bring a reusable).

The nice thing about doing this on the DP is that it saves your credits for lunches and dinners - and gets you started with a good, 4-point breakfast. I find that little things like starting the day out on the right foot pointswise - no matter how badly I want five Mickey waffles - puts me in a better place to stay relatively on track the rest of the day without trying to count every last thing.

And ooh, had a *great* salad at Fairfax Fare in DHS last summer - it's on my list of "hope that wasn't a fluke" CS meals!

Lifetime memeber here :) When we went a few years ago on our trip I did good the first few days and then the last couple of days I splurged on some items. I didn't go crazy I just eat things that weren't on plan (like pizza and creme brulee at Wolfgang)
For dessert I would eat a couple of bits and say "ok i know what that tastes like and I am happy I tried it" and then I would push it away put napkins on it to get it out of the way, or hand it to my hubby!!! HAVE FUN like others said!!!
When I did let loss I was worried about how much I would gain. I only gained 1.1 lbs so to me, it was worth it to stay in control but treat myself

When we went in 2004, I'd lost about 40 lbs. In 2007, I'd been at goal/lifetime for 2 years. In 2004 my wife wanted us to weigh in mid-trip at a local WW meeting. Those days have long since past for her; and I've been on that journey alone for some time. I get the best result when I keep my big fat mouth shut.

Our family vacation usually involve quite a bit of walking to see the sights. Last summer we went to San Francisco. Yes, it is entirely possible to eat as much there as at WDW. Probably more.

Like some PP's, I've established a good foundation by what works as a lifetime WW member. For our trip in June, here is what I have planned:

*breakfast in the room. It's always been a foundation for me; and why shouldn't I draw on that while on vacation?
*pack snacks: low fat granola bars & raisins. You'll recognize me as the guy in the bus line with a banana.
*refill my water as many times as humanly possible. I bring tea-add in's because we're all familiar with Orange County water.
*allow myself 1 soda a day (see note about water).
*share a snack with my wife. If I haven't got cooties by now...
*moderate all I can eat buffets. It's just a fact of life when I go visit the world: I want to eat! By the time I'm on the third refill I'm passed out in the aisleway. Just go around me...I'm not offended. I'm just unconscious.
*touring the world and 16 mile days in the parks is tough...no matter how you look at it. So what I fuel with has to matter...I have to watch what I put in my bento box!
*on my off days in between park days I will be planted in a pool side lounger for awhile. Resting is resting. Not standing in line for a bus...

Thank you all for the words of wisdom & support. We have a weekend getaway planned for this weekend (one of the benefits of living within 2 hours of WDW), and we're trying to think of possible plans of action/attack on how to stay on target with our goals. All of the tips from you guys are greatly appreciated.
