hi guys! i just switched from Atkins/low carb to ww. has anyone done the weight watchers online program? i have tons of questions about it. thanks!!!

I'm a pro. Did online for a year and then switched to e-tools (same thing only discounted because I now go to meetings.)

How can I help you?

and then did the ww ...she is doing it on line and is very happy with her results.......

cool!! ok here i go!!

one...will i get that little book (i mean physically) that has all the food points in it?

two...any pro's/ con's with the online WW?

three...how do you go about weighing yourself officially? can you still do the lifetime membership thing?

four...any advice?

five...how would i find out about any promotional codes? (i'm on a tight budget)

i think thats it for now, but i know i'll have tons of more questions soon!

Thank you!!!

To answer the "what will I get" question:

The online tools are included with the WW at Home subscription.

You can order a "Weight Watchers At Home" kit for $99.95 to get hard copies of the book, plus lots of other stuff.

Try this link and enter your ZIP code to see what's in the kit.

One- No- But You won't need the book. All food points are on line and if there is something that ISN'T there all you have to know is the calories, fat and fiber and you can use the points calculator. You can also add it to your list of foods so if there is something that you eat often, you can have it there for you. If you still really want the book, PM me, and I'll send you mine.

Two- Pro's- It REALLY has all the tools you need right there. You can even use the recipe builder so if you have a favorite recipe and have no idea what the points value is, then you can enter the ingredients and the number of servings and it will tell you the points per serving. It's got a weight tracker so you can track your weight in graph and column form. It also lets you view your points per meal for the week. That's how I figured out I was spending WAY too many points snacking and not enough on breakfast. It's got support boards (although I like WISH a WHOLE lot better! :) )

Cons- You really have to find your support and be motivated. If you can't be motivated and USE the tools, all the tools in the world won't help you.

Three- You pick ONE day out of the week and hop on your bathroom scale. Then you enter the weight in on your weight tracker and watch the graph go down. No, Lifetime membership is for meetings only.

Four- If you are self motivated, go for it. If you need a whole lot of support join the meetings. I personally didn't start losing until I attended meetings. Mostly because I never got the time to focus on the plan, but the meetings make you focus. If you can focus without meetings, then just use the online service.

Five- I'm not real sure....somehow Weight Watchers had my e-mail address and they sent me a promo code I think when the site was still just getting started, but if you pay for 3 months at a time, it's cheaper than paying monthly. Online tools are even cheaper, but you only have access to them if you are a meeting member, and that will blow your budget.

If you have anymore questions Wagamama I'll be happy to help you out if I can!

Good luck!:)

And make sure you check out Dotties Weight Loss Zone for some great WW before and after pictures and lots of handy tips on food points! :)

A lot of good information, and I just wanted to say that you can do it.

God bless, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

Thanks everyone! :Pinkbounc

What is the address for Dotties weight loss zone?

I just replaced my hard drive and lost all my links, but if you go to www.google.com and search on dottie's weight loss zone, you'll find it. Good luck.

http://www.dwlz.com

This will link you to the Dotties. It has been very helpful to us. We started the WW Online Last week and we have been very happy with the service. We subscribed for 59.00 for three months and then it is just 14.95 per month.

Does anyone have a plan for when they are on vacation at DW? How are you going to stay within your points?

:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I also have the entire 2002 food points book in a word document if you are interested. Just send me your e-mail address and I will e-mail it to you.

My Email is avenner71@earthlink.net.

We are planning to go to DW in October for 4 days.
We made reservations today so we are getting excited about planning the trip. This will be my third time going to Disney.

Thanks for emailing me the information.

Have a great day!!

:)
