Anyone know if there are any points calculated on the web somewhere for Disney meals?

I'm hoping to be on maintenance by the time we get there and have a little leeway, but just incase, I don't want to be stuck eating salads the entire time either since some of the best foods we've ever eaten were at Disney.

Over on the WISH board there are many WW folks who have done trips, they may be better able to answer your questions. Someone may even have some of the points totals. If not, and if it were me, I would probably try to select foods where you have a good idea of the ingredients and then can make better choices about what you eat. I know they'll have great ideas of outstanding meals that were diet plan friendly!

I am a WW lifetimer. I have not been able to find points anywhere for DW. I recommend looking at the menu's on Deb's site and plan a little before you go.

Remember that you are doing a ton of walking and that will help a lot. I was there the last time while still losing and I pretty much threw everything out the window because you need a vacation sometimes. I lost a lb.

Just remember, the key is to plan. Good luck

LOL!

You know, my leader was saying something to that effect last week. That there are times when people are "missing" for a few weeks and come back and think they've done TERRIBLY...and they weigh-in and they've still lost or maintained!

He said that even when we go off program for a short period, we often have it so set in our mind how we need to be eating, that we tend to eat more in moderation and make healthier choices than we would have before.

I am hoping to have reached goal by the time we go - being that it's over a year from now - so maybe I'll take a vacation from the program and try to taste what I can in moderation. (Four little girls and a great big DH are good at sharing what I order!) LOL

Good luck on reaching your goal. Honestly, the eating will be second nature a year from now. You will be fine

I say don't sweat it. Remember you have 35 flex points each week you can use as well. And with all of the activity points you will be accumulating I wouldn't be to worried.

I think I could use the 35 flex points each day - between dole whips and turkey legs and beaver tails and stuffed french toast at Cinderella's Royal Table! <drool>

I can't wait!

I agree with what others have said--you will be doing so much walking that you should be fine as long as you take into account portions and desserts. I've pretty much maintained my weight for 2 years now on WW (lost 28 lbs) and the biggest lifestlye change for me was portions--I now know what a true portion is! Always try to split a meal (or order an appetizer for dinner.) I hate wasting food and its hard because most likely you won't be carryign around a doggie bag and when would you eat it, anyway? So I just try to order lowfat items (pasta with marinara sauce, salad with light or ff dressing, sandwiches with mustard instead of mayo, etc.) I allow myself a dessert on occasion. My big problem is beer and wine!

So true about the portion control thing! I find that sharing/splitting meals is a great restaurant strategy along with choosing appetizers as meals. Also at buffets, I'll gravitate first to the interesting looking veggies, salads, etc, and leave only a quarter of my plate for the higher-point treats. Same with desserts -- mostly fruits with just a quarter of the plate left for a few tasty items. This worked great at Boma! I also used these strategies during last summer's vacation at an all-inclusive resort. "Tastes" work for me better than doing without totally...::yes::

ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, you walk off 4 points per hour and if your like most thats 32 per day, if you cancel those out you should be able to take in about 60 to break even. bring on the dole whip!!!!!!!!!!!!
