Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

Hey ya'll... remember me??? :goodvibes

It's been a while with various life issues going on... I barely have time to check e-mail, let alone post anything anymore... A big shout to everyone though. Since I last posted, I quite my job (I no longer sit at a computer and therefore have no time to DIS anymore!), DH got laid off, I started substitute teaching, teach water aerobics a few nights a week and we got a dog... who this weekend got into mouse posion at the beach and ya know... I also did the Half Marathon in January as well as the Princess. I just registed for Race for the Taste (alone...DH will be staying at home...unemployed and all that...). My SIL and I are going to the OBX Half on the NC Coast...

DEBRA... I saw that DOOD's grandmother passed away and just wanted to send my condonlenses...

I hope everyone is still plugging along and making progress. I will try to pop in more often when I have time. I still think about you guys often. Know that I am cheering for you!!! :yay:

Stacie! I miss you! I'm so sorry to hear about your challenges, all of them. I empathize deeply with the unemployment and how it affects all aspects of your life. I'm happy that you're teaching water aerobics, though, as I know you enjoy it. And am glad you're doing RftT (wish I was) and you and your SIL have a NC 1/2 planned. I suppose you're not planning on January because of everything, huh?

And I'm especially sorry to hear about your puppy. This may seem cruel, but did he survive? I don't know if a dog can survive that (suppose it depends on how much and how big the dog). I certainly hope so.

I know it might be a while until we hear from you again, but know I think about you often! :goodvibes

P.S. Do try to check out the RftT mini-meet thread. I know there are people going who would love to see you!

Debra: Yeah, I figured things would 'get out of hand' with DOOD's grandmother passing.....family dynamics usually kick in, and they forget that someone has died. They get to worried about what is "owed" them with wills and trusts and stuff.....I find it offensive. I encourage you to 'remember' her the way she was in life, so you don't get too bogged down with the rest of it. I have encouraged my own father to spend all his money on himself.....no need to leave anything for me! Money is the root of all evil.

I am glad you and DOOD had the time to reminence before heading off to the funeral. She sounds like a really nice grandmother, and I wish I had known her. Her passing quietly was a blessing also.......

Check in when you can!

Stacie: I am so sorry to hear about all the troubles you have had! We've missed you around here, and am glad you checked in! I hope everything works out for you and your dh!

AFM: I am staying the course on this weight loss thing....looking forward to the end I should say. I am killing myself to lose one stinking pound this week. I ran twice on Monday and Tuesday! UGH! I ran this morning, and will probably jump on the treadmill again tonight. I already have 25 miles in since Monday! My legs are tired, and I would love a Blizzard from Dairy Queen.....other than that, things are going well!

Good Morning, Lean Mean Brigade!

Ok, I've determined I am not the biggest fan of salmon burgers, but I'm glad I made myself eat it. :thumbsup2

It's a little cooler today, so hoping for a TM workout after the work I get paid to do.

Tivo's on the fritz, folks are here to let the cable guy in, so hopefully it will be fixed when we get home. Going without JK+8 is acceptable, going w/out Eureka not so much. ;)

Dad has been his usual whirling dervish -- he's repaired the window ac, replaced the light above the sink in the kitchen (a fixture in the ceiling), fixed the window that wouldn't close in the dining room, put up blinds in the dining room, cleaned the laundry room, oh! and his wife weeded our front yard, which was pretty scary. They're going to need a vacation from their vacation! Seriously, we'll be taking them out and about this Friday, Saturday, Monday, and the following Thursday and Saturday before they leave, and Friday the 28th is the Wizards party, so they'll be entertained with the other adults.

Yesterday ds stayed home from camp, and they took him to IHOP for breakfast, Friendly's for lunch, and the movies in the afternoon. popcorn:: Needless to say, he's having a great time with the grandfolk.

Beth -- Ok, don't literally kill yourself to get that pound off! Is it really awful if your post-spa last weigh in is followed by a Blizzard? :rolleyes1

Stacie -- So great to hear from you! But I'm so sorry for everything you've been going through. It sounds like it's been rough, but you are in good spirits! :grouphug:

Debra -- I brought home a 5-subject notebook yesterday for the express purpose of having a place to write down various things. I haven't figured out what to use each section for yet -- any ideas? I do have the WW online where I can track my food/water and workouts, plus I have another workout log I use. I think one will be milestones, one should be how I'm feeling -- and then I get stumped. I'm looking for anything I could write down that would help me with my weight loss goals. Maybe if I could come up with other things to track ...

All ideas are greatly appreciated! I need to make this my priority over virtually anything else to make it happen (of course making sure everyone gets fed, clothed and loved, too!).

Maria :upsidedow

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been away so long. Can't seem to get the eating under control so I have a hard time coming here to admit it. My son starts school Sept 9th so that will give us more of a routine, but I can't wait until then to start. I need to find some sort of push to get me going. The running part is fine, it's the eating for fuel part that's not going so well.

Maria: I like your idea of a notebook. One suggestion I had is to use it to list all the tricks that you've used in the past (then send me a copy because obviously I'm needing it right now). For a while you writing down your food the night before seemed to help. So list that and any other things you've used, that way if one thing isn't working you can try another one. Some of my tricks: reward yourself for each 5 lb increment, enter a BL challenge, give yourself a reward for each day you stay within WW pts. I think I wrote a while back that I had my son give me a bead each day that I stuck to WW. You can start a beautiful necklace.

It's good that you have a start date in mind. You can get all your recipes in order and make grocery lists so you are all set to go when the company leaves.

If you need someone to PM you every day to keep you honest I'd be happy to. I am going to get back to tracking WW pts too, so we can do this together. Have a great time in Salem.

Beth: Stick with the Spa Challenge. I know you're tired of it, but you will feel so wonderful when it's finally over and you've done what you set out to do (and more).

Debra: So sorry to hear about DOOD's grandmother. I'm glad you have wonderful memories of her. As far as the tight calf and sore knee. Try tapping your foot before you start running and do toe circles (I "write" the alphabet in the air with my toe). Maybe the knee is hurting because you are somehow compensating for the calf? I also highly recommend the stick. Good luck.

Stacie: Good to see you back. Sorry to hear about all the stress. Keep looking for the positive.

Vicky: Glad the knee is better. I'm much less tolerant of the heat now than in my younger years. I remember in my 20's running at lunch time in 100 degree weather and an old lady came out of her house to yell at me about being crazy. I don't yell at anyone now for running at noon on hot days, but I certainly do shake my head. I ran at 6:30 AM yesterday because it was supposed to be so hot.

As I mentioned the eating is not going well. I know I just need to find a foothold of sorts to get myself back into it. I keep thinking about Wendy's post about taking 11 minutes off your marathon time by losing 10 lbs and I really thought that would do it for me, but for some reason I still keep reaching for the sweets. I guess I'll have to try a few sugar-free days to see if that will break me of the cravings. I'm really trying to think about why I am sabotaging myself right now.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Hey guys! Just checking in. Stayed the same at the weigh in today.....ugh. It was not for lack of effort, I might add. I have run over 30 miles in 4 days. Ate well, it just wasn't in the cards this week.

Maria/Cindy: I am sorry the motivation is low right now. I think it's a great idea for the notebook, and tracking WW points. Here's a few tips that may help.

Motivation Tip 1. Weight loss motivation is all about desire rather than willpower. How much do you want to lose weight? How much more do you want to lose weight than you want to eat fattening food and lay on the sofa watching TV all day? List all your reasons for wanting to lose weight, or stay healthy and slim. Add more reasons to your list as you think of them. Make reading your list the first thing you do in the morning. If you need more ideas, see our report with reasons to lose weight.

Motivation Tip 2. Sustain motivation by making getting to your target weight believable. Visualize success. How will you look when you lose weight? How will you feel? What will you be wearing? How will your clothes feel on you? What will people be saying to you? What will you be saying? What will you be doing? Spend 5 minutes a day imagining and enjoying your future success. A great way to while away the time waiting in a line or commuting, not so great for driving though!

Motivation Tip 3. If you have a lot of weight to lose it can be hard to sustain your focus. If that is the case, plan some activities throughout the year that you would like to be slim for, for example Valentine's Day, your birthday, a weekend away, your annual vacation, Thanksgiving etc. - your Weight loss motivation dates! Plot out your goal weight for each event with a sensible rate of weight loss (max 1-2lbs per week) and use each mile-stone as a major target in itself. Use the same strategy for weight maintenance by ensuring that you stay the same weight for each special date in your calendar.

Motivation Tip 4. Boost your weight loss motivation by promising yourself a treat when you reach your goals. Build in some non-food rewards for every little step you take as well as for major milestones. How about a beauty treatment for each 4lbs lost? Or buy a book by your favorite author and allow yourself time to read in peace (and without guilt) each time you do your full workout. And each time you make a healthy choice rather than an available unhealthy choice (walking instead of taking the car, fresh fruit instead of ice-cream) pat yourself on the back. Tell yourself that you're doing great, because you are!

Motivation Tip 5. Take a picture of yourself in your swimsuit or leotard at the start of your program. Each month take another picture wearing the same thing. Feel your weight loss motivation sore as the swimsuit gets baggy while you shrink. A Digital camera is great for taking those pictures you don't want to take to the developers!

Motivation Tip 6. Get your subconscious to help with weight loss motivation. It's a lot easier if your mind is on your side! Try motivating tapes and even hypnosis. These have worked for many people. They help you get the right messages deep into your brain supporting your decision to lose weight and they help you to relax. Stress is the top reason why people eat when they are not hungry. Try the programs available from Hypnosis Downloads including Weight Loss Motivation as well as others on healthy eating and keeping up a fitness program. They have a free course you can download too to help you get started. You've nothing to lose by trying it out.

There are more if you want them....I think there are 20 total.

***My main motivation right now is my goal weight. I am closer to it than ever, and really want to get there. Tips I used along the way.....reading and being open to try something new. I found a great deal of motivation from Master Your Metabolismby Jillian Michaels. With her advice, I really buckled down and watched portion sizes and got rid processed food.

I gave myself two weeks following her plan. A short enough time period to be doable, but long enough to see results. I lost 6 pounds in two weeks! That's alot for me, since I have been in weight loss mode since January.

Cindy: Sometimes you need a break. I gained 25 pounds in 2007 with my marathon training. I kept them around until January. I just couldn't face the 'weight loss mode' in 2008. I maintained ok, but I was too heavy. So I let the 'New Year' resolution guide me back to eating right. I vowed to see my goal in 2009 with eating right and exercising (Hence the 'streak' of daily exercise since Jan!). I continue to bound and determine to see it this year! But, you might have needed the 'break'. I know I did. I am glad to have stayed there and not gained more. So, my advice is keep an eye on the scale so you don't gain to much......but not for weight loss right now if you need a break. Nothing at all wrong with that.

It's so easy to get discouraged......I was today with the stay the same weight. I practically killed myself this week to get it done, and it just didn't happen. I tried to explain it to my dh, but he doesn't get it. He was being encouraging (which I appreciate) and telling me all the things I already know. But I just wanted someone to 'get' that I am entitled to be a little 'down'. I will be back to it tomorrow, but I am a little pissed off that I didn't have a loss this week. (((((Freaking running twice a day since Monday!))))

But, my will stays the course. I will get there, and it doesn't need to be tomorrow......The Climb, ya know!

Beth

Hey Lean Meaners! Not much to report here but thought I'd check in and see how everyone's doing. I'll join Cindy and admit I haven't been out this week running at all. No excuses really - just low energy due to TOM. It's just as well I suppose since it's been so hot and humid out. I'm going to the gym tonight for a 1/2 hour training session.

Cindy - My eating has been so-so lately as well. This week I really tried to keep things on track since I haven't been running. I've found the best thing to do with sweets is to take them out of the house completely. But that's because I'm a complete carb and sugar addict. Maybe we can do another BL challenge for the fall. And what's this about 10 pounds and 11 minutes? I'm going to keep that one in mind the next time I see my hand reaching toward someone's candy dish.

Maria - That's so sweet of your parents to help out! My parents would be pointing out all the things I should be doing.:headache::upsidedow I like your idea for the notebook. I would probably save a section just for doodling. I know it has nothing to do with weight loss or exercise but I usually doodle when I'm bored.

Beth - Great advice as always. I like #3 because it makes something that might seem impossible, possible. I've also thought about buying a target outfit but always chicken out thinking that I might not actually reach my goal. Sorry to hear that you didn't lose any weight but wanted to say WTG on your 30 miles! :worship:

Debra - Try doing some hip and quad stretches. I find those help with my knees sometimes. I get that same ankle pain sometimes, usually after a LR. I asked another trainer about it a couple of months ago, I can't remember what his explanation was. I think he told me not to worry about it and that taking off my shoes by using my feet wasn't good for my shoes. I said that he should try bending down after running several miles! I hope things are going okay out in Fort Wayne/Dixon.

Stacie - Sorry to hear about your job situation and your pup :( I wish I were staying for RFTT but we're leaving on the Saturday.

Ok, that's all for now! I'll check back in later! Make it a good one :)

Beth: You're AWESOME!!! Thank you for taking the time to write all that out. I am cutting and pasting it to a file where I can read it all the time.

I think the taking a break thing is a good idea. It's hard to keep it up all the time. I like the thought of seeing my goal weight some time in 2009. The goal will be mine in 2009!! My new mantra.

I'm so sorry you didn't lose this week. You really deserved too. I'm sure it'll be double next week. (I'm not saying 2 x 0 for next week.)

Vicky: Sorry for the low energy. Wendy mentioned that you can increase your speed by X seconds/mile for each lb lost which translates into shaving 11 minutes off your marathon if you lose 10 lbs. (I thought that the X was equal to 2, but I just checked the math for that and it doesn't exactly come out to 11 min. closer to 8:45, but still ball park.) Good luck at the gym.

Hello Lean Meaners!

I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER! Took DD to college this morning (yep, there were a few tears, but we're home now and I'm loading all the necessary software on the laptop, so it's keeping me busy.) Work is still a nightmare - the girl who's out will probably be out for at least another 4 weeks, so there's no quick end in sight for my doing 2 fulltime jobs for one less-than-fulltime salary :scared1: (they gave us a 6% decrease earlier in the year as a recession concession, but we get 3 extra vacation days - can anyone say Disney trip?)

End result here - as of next week there will be a renewed commitment to workouts and weight loss. DD and I have to adjust to life as empty nesters and develop whole new schedules. I've been reluctant to try to run on the TM in the morning before work because of the logistics of dealing with the dogs, but with DD gone, I can leave them in their crates and let them howl. I'll have the headphones in and won't care, and DH is already at work, so they can just wait until I'm finished to go out and eat breakfast! Cross your fingers!

A few quick shoutouts - there's no way I can catch up with everyone...

Stacie - Sorry to hear about all the job issues, but glad you've got some employment. Not an easy time. Can't wait to see what you think about OBX - that's on my 2010 list.

Debra - Sorry to hear about DOOD's grandmother. I just got back from a funeral from one of my parents' dearest friends - he's actually their neighbor in the columbarium! Fortunately, since it's not family I don't have all the other issues to deal with. Good luck with all the dynamics.

Jeanne - Don't you just love those cutback weeks? We've got a 10 miler this weekend. Seems like nothing after last Saturday's 16 miles!

Maria - Gotta love being swamped at work! But as we keep saying "at least I have a job..."

Beth - You're amazing! Don't know how you do it. Run twice a day, and still have time to post amazing motivational tips as well!

Gotta run - more software to load, dinner to eat, laundry to do :laundy:

Jackie

Hey Meaners!

I just had to order ds a book for school on Amazon, and I needed another one to get free shipping -- so I ordered Jillian Michael's Master Your Metabolism -- I figured if Beth loves it, it has to be good! :thumbsup2

What great suggestions for my notebook! I think I'm going to start putting it together tonight. I am definitely having a "Motivation" section, and I already printed Beth's tips to start me off. I would love to have them all...:yay:

Jackie -- So psyched you are back with a new computer, and  on the empty nest. I know that must be a really hard adjustment.

Vicky -- Would you believe I really can't doodle? My brain just doesn't work that way. I am an odd duck. I can't write all day long, but drawing anything stumps me. :confused3

Beth -- Thank you so much for posting the tips, and also allowing us along on your journey. I am so sorry you didn't lose after all that effort -- that's a real wake up call that sometimes the scale won't move no matter what you do -- but you have to keep going! You are a model of perseverence! :worship:

Cindy -- I totally need a buddy! I will be happy to PM you every day, too! :lovestruc I went to WW Online yesterday and entered my weights from June 'til now, I also tracked most of my points. I figure I can at least get myself ready to go, even if I'm not able to really commit yet.

Instead of Salem, we ended up at North Shore Mall -- the "big" mall near us. We have a smaller one closer by, but this one has more than 2 anchors, and a ton of outparcel stores. We thought about it, and decided we've done everything in Salem we wanted to do. We also went to the uniform supply store to complete ds's wardrobe. Tomorrow we'll pick up shoes and his school supplies. It's supposed to rain Sunday, so I think we'll come up with some family indoor fun.

Everyone get a great night's rest, the weekend has arrived! :woohoo:

Maria :upsidedow

Motivation Tip 7. Buy and read slimming magazines and then cut out those inspirational stories of people who have succeeded in losing more weight than you. If they can do it, so can you. Re-read the stories when you're feeling down about your diet or think you are reaching a weight loss plateau. People who lose weight are not super-human. They just decided to go for it and then never gave up!

Motivation Tip 8. Keep a record of how well you are doing. This should include your measurements as well as your weight, and include a section on how fit you are and how you are feeling. Add your pictures if you are following Tip 5. There's some good software on the market that you can use to chart out your progress if you like having that kind of visual record.

Motivation Tip 9. Get the support of others working towards the same goal. Many people the world over swear by local slimming groups. They give you accountability as well as education, support and a chance to make new friends in your community. You can also use them for maintenance once you have lost weight.

Motivation Tip 10. Go public! Offer to be a guinea pig for a magazine or TV show or get everyone in the office to sponsor you - you will have to succeed.

Maria: I thought I would post some more tips for your notebook. I think there are more, and I will post the rest later. I hope it helps!

AFM: Pretty productive day, with all the back to school errands done. I even got to shop at Wegamens today!!! (Specialty grocery store I love!)
I haven't run yet though. I am so used to getting it done early......I hate that I didn't get it done already. I will have to jump on later I guess. Right now getting dinner done. Eating was so-so. Could have been better, but could have been much worse!

Beth

Beth: You haven't killed the thread, not at all. Once again, you've listed some great tips. I'm just too busy filling my face with cr*ppy foods that I haven't taken the time to post. I was doing OK until my husband brought a box of HoHo's in the house. He won them in a golf t'ney. Why do they have to taste so good? I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow for lots of healthy options. I've got a bunch of cook books I'm looking thru to get recipe ideas and plan the week out.

Sarah: Good luck to you. Sounds so stressful. Good job on not letting it affect your weight loss.

Maria: I hope you like Master Your Metabolism. I should read it again. I did find it very motivational. My start back seriously at WW date is 9/8 so I'll be needing your support at that point. I hope you are finding something fun to do with the family today.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Off to look thru my cookbooks now.

Cindy

Cindy: Oh, the Ho Ho. I swear invented by the devil himself! I have a few 'drive-bys' by the famous Ho Ho. I have to say I love them. Why do they have to be so good? I'll tell ya......it's to make us addicts! Makes us keep coming back for more. Don't worry I would have been eating them with you!

I love recipes.... I love cookbooks. I got that from my mother. Nothing gets me cooking like a new recipe! I hope you found a few....if not, I'll post some!

AFM: I did get a 5 miler in last night, but I am in the same boat again tonight. I need to get on the TM again tonight......oh......no...... I am tired and have 40 miles in already this week......ugh......

Beth

*** Making a new one right now. Hearty Baked Oatmeal (for breakfast tomorrow) from Taste of Home Healthy Cooking magazine

2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 3/4 cups boiling water
2 cups skim mild
1 1/2 cups chopped peeled tart apples
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup maple syrup (I used sugar free)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
(I added some vanilla too)

1. Place oats in a large bowl; add boiling water. Let stand for 5 min. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
2. Transter to an 11 in X 7in. X 2 in baking dish coated with cooking spray. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. Uncover and bake 10-15 min longer or until bubbly and set

1 cup = 224 cal, 2 g fat, 2 mg cholesterol, 48 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 7 g protein

Makes 6 servings

*** edited to add.....wow! The best oatmeal I ever had. I had to taste it, and ended up eating a serving....darn it!

Beth: You can post again now. Thanks so much for the oatmeal recipe. That sounds great. I think maybe I'll make it tonight and bring it for my breakfast all week. I love to cook when I have the time, but it always seems such a chore when it's a rush to get something on the table. My problem is that everything I like my husband doesn't care for and depending on the day the kids may or may not like it. I'm making pork chops with peaches and sweet potatoes tonight. Sloppy Joe's tomorrow, Kielbasa Bean soup for Wednesday and cheeseburger soup for Thursday. I'll use turkey kielbasa for the soup and extra lean beef for the two beef dishes. Hopefully somebody will like at least one of them. The cheeseburger soup is actually a WW recipe made with velveeta. I guess the trick will to be to watch the portion size (3/4 c).

I actually did my entire workout today with out having to cut it short or ease up for any reason. It felt so good. A lot of my runs lately have been lacking in quality. I really needed this. Eating has been pretty good today. Just trying to stay reasonable until I get back to the routine of school.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Here, Here Cindy! Thanks for posting! I always feel like a thread killer.....

I am glad that you are going to try the oatmeal recipe. I loved it! (((((to much I guess, since I ate a serving last night....:sad2:) I had it for breakfast this morning with some added skim milk and it was tasty! I actually halved the recipe because I only work 3 days, but now I am sad since I ate a serving last night. I will have to make more. The cranberries really add an extra zing for me! :)

Tonight I am making a Macaroni and Pork (leftover) Casserole. We cooked a pork shoulder on the grill yesterday, so we have leftovers....I googled a recipe to use it up. Sort of like mac and cheese with pork!

Ok, I must tell you all......I love my 'new' treadmill. I had bought it used last year for $200.00 from a friend of my husbands. The problem was getting it up to my workout room. Well, a year later it got done!!!!! My dh and a family friend took pitty on me and did it a few weeks ago. I knew it was heavy, that's why it hadn't gotten done in the year it was sitting in the garage!!! Well, Barry (the said friend) took the cover off and found a motor the size of an airplane engine! No kidding.....the motor is huge! I have to make sure most of the upstairs lights and air conditioner is off when I use it! (it will blow a fuse, I am sure!) And, it totals the mileage each time it was used.....it only had 80 miles on it total before I started using it!!!! (It's already over 130 miles and it's only been 2 weeks!) The guys had a heck of a time getting it upstairs because it's really heavy! I am so grateful!

Last night I used one of the predone workouts.....rolling hill/intervels. Wow! That was a workout and a half! No kidding, I loved it! I know I could have done a similiar thing with the old TM, but it takes too much thought. Having the TM do it for me was excellent! I am loving it and thanking dh every day!

It's the little things in life that make me happy! :woohoo: :lovestruc

I am easing up a little on myself with the spa weight loss thing.....one of the girls is losing alot of weight....she's still over 200 pounds and is motivated to lose it. I don't have a chance after her 5 pound weight loss last week. But, there is a second place prize of $90 which I will aim for! But, I will not kill myself again, since I had no success with that last week. I would like a pound off if my body cooperates with me!

Beth

Just popping in to say "hello" to all my lean meaners. Sorry that I haven't been posting much lately. I have been SOOOOO busy! You all know anout my daughter getting engaged last month......well, on Friday my son got engaged also! So I will have 2 weddings next year. :scared1:
I have also just rounded the tip of my marathon training. Today starts week 11 of 20. So far, so good. My foot isn't bothering me much and all my sessions are getting done right on schedule. Weight loss is a little slower now. Increased mileage does go hand-in-hand with increased appetite and I need to keep up my strength. I'm still losing, but very slowly. Down to 205 now, so one-derland is just around the bend. I will do this thing! I got my program, bib # and transportation assignment for the NYC marathon, so it's all becoming very real now. So excited....and so scared!

A big shout out to all of you!

Beth: thanks for all your inspiation and all that you do to keep this thread alive.

Good Evening, Lean Meaners!

Jeanne -- Congratulations on the 2nd Wedding! You sound like you are over the moon! I bet you're psyched you probably won't have to plan this one! :dance3: What is it Debra said for the Mother of the Groom "Show up, shut up and wear beige"? Sounds easy!

Beth -- Thank you so much for posting more tips! I started organizing my notebook. My 5 sections are: Motivation, Make it Work (what worked previously), Moods, My Check-In, and Milestones. I've pasted in the motivation tips with some pages in-between, so I have room to make comments, post action steps, etc. I'm really starting to get excited about this! I think you are right to just continue what you are doing and see what happens for the spa challenge. You are such a success story, you are a real winner! :thumbsup2

Cindy -- Congratulations on doing your entire workout! That is awesome! You are a phenomenal athlete, please don't forget that.

Sarah -- Sending massive :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry for your work situation. I'm proud of you for continuing your workouts to deal with the stress. Something fabulous is just around the corner for you, I just know it! :goodvibes

Debra -- I hope all the funeralness wasn't too stressful for you and DOOD. It's hard, and unfortunately families usually make it harder rather than easier. :flower3:

Jackie and Vicky  I hope you had an awesome weekend!

Sorry I was absent most of the weekend -- lots of stuff going on with our company. Just one more week...;)

I did manage to run 3 mi Sat., 5 mi Sun., and walk 5 mi today. I had today off -- I'm actually only working Tuesday and Wednesday this week so I have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the folks.

I have yoga at work tomorrow, so I'm really looking forward to that. I need to stretch out and relax! I should also have time to post tomorrow, since I'll be at work. Let's hope not much e-mail and zero assignments came in while I was out! :surfweb:
