Weight and Jean Size

237# 5ft 4 and I bought a pair of size 12 jeans today.

When I was 18 (40 years ago) I weight 140# and wore a size 16 jean so go figure.

I weigh about 155 (down from a lot more a couple of years ago) and generally in a pant wear what would be a US size 8 (but is a 12 in Australia), but the Levis I bought over there are a 6. That being said, I am a G cup so most of my weight is up top! My sister's body shape is the opposite; she is a lot curvy around her bottom and thighs.

I weigh about 145 and I am in a size 6 jeans. I can wear a size 8 but they are a little loose. At 155 I was in size 8. So conceivable, depending on the brand of jeans, the person *could* be wearing a size 10 at 179 lbs.

Vanity sizing is surely here to stay. When I was smaller and in my 20s, my regular pants size was between an 8 and 10. As I have gotten older and larger, it has decreased!

I'm 5'4" and have been blessed with a bottom and hips. In high school I was 160 and depending on the brand wore sizes 11-13 in juniors wide leg/carpenter styles. In college 180-220 pound range I wore size 16. Years and 4 kids later I was in size 18 until around 245lbs. From there I went to size 20 and 22. I'm back into the 230s and still in a size 20. Go figure? If I didn't ahve the hips and large calves I think I'd be smaller.

I usually wear a 6 and weigh between 130-140. Then I can fluctuate to an 8 when I go over 140, which is unfortunately where I am right now. I got down to a 4 last year and weighed about 120-125. I'm 5'3" and am "the anti Beyonce" if you catch my drift.
