Since Colson has been busy I thought I'd do the weekly poll in his place.

The topic is destinations you would like to go to. If you've already been and you want to comment about the trip please feel free to let the rest of us in on the sights and ammenities.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on Smoky Mountains as I'm thinking of a trip there this year. I read there are no hookups at the campgrounds and some of them are hard to get to in larger campers.

I am getting tired of the east coast, I voted Yosemite, I want to head west, now I just need to win that darn power ball.

I voted Smokey Mountains (for now). Went there w/ my church youth group at 15, Loved it!! Although we did stay in a hotel on the outskirts of Gatlinburg. We could walk just about everywhere in town. That as great! Loved being in the mountains. We went white water rafting there too, just over the border in NC. Gatlinburg was great back then, but haven't been back since. Hoping to in the next year or so though!

You would like the great smokey mtns. There are campgrounds in pigeon forge with full hookups. A short drive but you would be convenient to other attractions. I voted somewhere different because i've always wanted to go the grand tetons.

I voted Stone Mountain. I recently spent 1 night there and it looked beautiful!! Looked like there was lots to do and the campground was pretty and nice (although bring lots of leveling stuff as the sites are unlevel).

I voted Sm Mnts too.....never been and I have seen some beautiful photos of the waterfalls and landscape....gotta do it sometime soon.

PPix posted some pics a few months back of somewhere they went a couple of years ago, I cant remember the destination though, Ami, do you remember what Im talking about? The photos were awesome, and I had written down the destination, but apparently I must have deleted it sometime along the way

Gatlinburg is still very nice but if you go during a holiday it can take forever to drive from point a to point b. They also put a ripleys aqarium there and you can go ice skating in ober gatlinburg. lots to do.

I would like to travel to Yellowstone. I have been to Yosemite but stayed in the cabins in Curry Village. We liked it a lot and had fun.

Here's a couple pictures we took from the side of the road.

The RV Roadtrip show last Friday featured Mather Campground at the Grand Canyon. It look really cool. Plus, the family had a hybrid, great show!! Mather is a dry campground though. They did have another campground down the road w/ full hook-ups though, for those not wanting to dry camp.

I voted Yosemite and then remembered, I've been there :rolleyes1
I meant Yellowstone.... I do have a long Yosemite story for another day.

I am from East Tennessee and we would go to Gatlinburg for a day trip on Saturdays. If you've not been there, it is very pretty.

I am just ready to GO SOMEWHERE!!! Someone in the DF (dear family) has something to do every weekend till the end of May

You can find several site in the SM MTN to camp Townsend is one its right on a river and close to cades cove.Remember it hot in the mountain in the summer. We just got back in feb stayed in a cabin cheaper than we could pull.

We would love to go to Yosemite.

You might also look into a trip to Mount Rushmore. Our fist LONG camping trip when we had the trailer was a trip out to Mount Rushmore. We had so much fun on that trip. :thumbsup2

Eventhough I've mostly lived in the south and now south east  , I truly love the Pacific northwest! Yosemite for sure! :thumbsup2

Been to all of these all great, went to Hawaii 2 years ago, now hopefully Alaska in ayear or two. Need to save lots of money.:goodvibes

I voted for the Keys because thats the only one I haven't been to. The only problem is getting there. I know I would automaticly stop at the Fort and not want to go on.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on Smoky Mountains as I'm thinking of a trip there this year. I read there are no hookups at the campgrounds and some of them are hard to get to in larger campers.
The National Park campgrounds are no hookup, but there are plenty of other private camps both on the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge side and the Cherokee side. Cherokee is less hectic and a little better for relaxing.
A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway is great too.
