Our fav is the Trav-l-park, we love the lazy rivers and pools as well as the AMAZING bath houses, plus my family went there alot when I was a kid. But the said full for all 3 months.... :sad1:

Is that the same place as Myrtle Beach Travel Park ?? We just booked a week there next spring break :thumbsup2

Yep, that's the place Shannone, you will love it!

I hope so !! It was tough....so many good reviews for Pirateland, Ocean Lakes AND MBTP. We kept going back and forth between them.

MBTP prob has nicer Bath houses than the Fort, IMHO. I think it is one of the best. You will have a blast!! Easy to get to everything, and not in all the traffic either.

Pirateland is great! They have a new pool area with a lazy river and waterfall play area for little ones. The mini golf has been re-done also. The only thing I don't like is the store area. It needs to be remodeled, but we don't use the laundry or game room/rest. at all. I don't use the bath houses but my husband does and he wouldn't walk in the door if they were not clean. They aren't as nice as the new remodeled ones at FW but clean is the most important part! They have a beautiful new office and have lots of activities for kids everyday. The campsites are great especially the ones on the beachside that backup to the lake. You can ride the GC or walk to the beach it is so close or stand under your awning and fish or crab! The biggest difference for me is the covered picnic shelters, they are HUGE and the fact that you are right on the beach.
Lake wood is nice too. The sites are a little larger and the campfire is great. They also have concerts on most weekends and a great snack bar. Their pool has a really cool volcano slide and the indoor pool is right on the sand at the beach.

I voted for the Keys. We talked about riding from the Fort, on our Harleys, spend the night and then back the next day. We haven't done it because the traffic in Orlando is so scary we haven't even brought the bikes down. We have ridden out to Yellowstone three times but I don't think we'll ever do that again due to buffalo that don't like Harleys.

I have always wanted to go to the Florida Keys. Someday I will.

Doh, I'm so sorry, you're right, I had been so busy, I had totally forgotten to do the poll! Thanks for taking up the slack Donnie, I'll be sure to get back on it next week ;)

I have to say the Florida Keys, because we've been going there since I was a kid, and there is nothing like Duval Street. That place is dangerous! (In a good way, although I guess sometimes in a bad way too...lol)

We want to go to Gainesville this weekend to watch Auburn play Florida in the softball series they are having. Anyone know of a place near Gville to camp? If we can afford to fill the 'ol lady (at 4.25 and climbing) we are going to go. We just don't know where a good place to stay over. I am not driving all the way north through FL and then all the way back south. Too much! :drive:

I would love to go to the Grand canyon, but I couldn't vote twice!

I haven't been to the Grand Canyon. I think I may try to work it into a trip to Disneyland next year. I've been to Yellowstone as a child and would really like to take my DDs up there before they graduate.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on Smoky Mountains as I'm thinking of a trip there this year. I read there are no hookups at the campgrounds and some of them are hard to get to in larger campers.

We went to the Smoky Mtns. last year on Memorial week. We had a good time. We stayed at Twin Creeks Rv resort in Gatlinburg. My only complaint about it was the sites were to close together. There is a variety of things to do in the area. We hiked trails, fished and even saw some bears, deer and other animals. We went over to Cherokee and visited the Indian village. We also spent a couple of days at Dollywood.

Stone Mountain is fun also but a much slower pace than Disney, at least for us. Which was nice. The campground is nice but you may need extra stuff for leveling. You can ride the water taxis from the CG to the attractions.

We went to Yosemite last summer. We left the 2700 lb TT at home and took the 2 1/2 lb tent. Backpacked along the John Muir Trail, spent some time in Yosemite Valley and the high meadows. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful country in the states, including Alaska.

Jen, there is a nice SP near Gainesville is call Payne's Praire. I think is in the town of Micanopy about 8 miles from Gainesville if my memory serves well. Check it out.:)

I voted other even though I would like to go to Yosemite someday. We went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone a few years ago (hotels). It was sooo beautiful and I have been wanting to go in the RV. That was actually the trip that convinced DH to try RVing. Had reservations to go to Mt Rushmore/Yellowstone/Treton in July but the cost of gas has caused us to cancel.

The good news is we will probably go to the fort instead!:yay:

Duvall Street :scared: I had a bag stolen from there. It contained a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville T-shirt, a JB shot glass, a JB magnet, and a pack of AA batteries.

Well, it's like any main party street anywhere, you have to be careful. Bunch of tourists + bunch of alcohol normally means the bad guys come out to play.

Personally I've never had anything happen on it (except for some way too drunk nights...lol), but like your story, I've heard the stories. It's a shame that we can't all just enjoy life :/

Perhaps she left that part out on purpose.:rotfl:

We have been to The Smokey Mountians a few times and LOVE it. If you are camping consider the http://www.koa.com/where/nc/33173/ we enjoyed our stay there!
