Weekly cvs 9/6-9/12

2nd trans:
schick razors 6.99
aussie style gel 2.99
aussie mousse 2.99
bayer quick release packets 1.50
12 pkgs of huggies lil swimmers .89 ea
I then used a $5/25 quiz Q, a $4/20, $3 schick Q, $2 off 2 aussie Q, $1 bayer Q, and spent a $10 ECB and .50ish OOP.
I got back $4 schick ECB and $4 Aussie ECB. So I lost $2 in ECB but I still think I made out great.

We have a pool and I like to have some of the swim diapers, but I may sell a couple of packs to DSil for $2.50 ea, she will still be thrilled. :rotfl:

Were you able to use both the $5/$25 and the $4/$20 in the same transaction?

Maggie

Oh Okay. while it makes some sense because obviously it's not like they are going to spoil or anything, but one of our stores has like 30 of them. I mean is it really cost effective for them to store that many of them? I would think that if they marked them down some, not necessarily 90% but maybe 30 to 50% off, they would be better off than storing them. If people didn't buy them at full price this year, what makes CVS think that people are going to buy them at full price next year? :lmao: Don't get that concept. :rolleyes1

If they have 30, the manager is probably going to try to get rid of some so keep watching. Keeping some of the seasonal merchandise has to do with who has the contract and whether the style/design is going to change, I've seen it happen at Christmas too.

We are a sad group this week lol

I was in CVS yesterday, the 90% has been reduced to a few pairs of flip-flops and some blow-up pool rings.

I splurged on John Frieda, but I still like Fruitopia better I think:

$15.00 Root Awakening shampoo and two conditioners
5.00 Two Glade Wisp at 75% off
-3.00/2 mfg. for John Frieda (stolen from Walgreens lol)
-1.00/1 mfg. for John Frieda sent to me by {{flakypuff}}
-3.00 mfg. for Glade Wisp inside some other Glade product
-2.00 mfg. for Glade Wisp (adjusted down to $2)
-4.00/20 Ready-Fill booklet (last one I had)
$7.00 (earned $5) (paid with $5 extra buck)

Did Mahtomedi finally put their summer stuff on clearance? I haven't been back to check it out.

I made a big rookie mistake today. I went in figuring I'd start small to learn how to do this. My plan was to buy the Herbal essence shampoo that's just on sale (no ecb) and then the Crest toothpaste and scope mouthwash to get 3 of the $2.50 ecbs. Wellll, I apparently grabbed two of the wrong size toothpastes so I walked out of there spending $16 (!!!) on 2 toothpastes a mouthwash and shampoo! :scared1: AND only got one ECB for $2.50 to boot!

I was kind of still trying to figure out what was going on at the register so I just paid but I will be returning the toothpaste. I do not need a tube of toothpaste that costs nearly $5!!! Much less two of them.

I need to sit and watch and learn for a while obviously. :lmao:

Happens to all of us! Returns are easy if you actually paid real money :rotfl:

I don't have my ad in front of me but if the crest and mouthwash you were trying to do were the ones pictured together that were the Outlast ones theres a limit of 2 for that deal. So you could either buy 2 crest, 2 Scopes or one of each but not 2 crests and 1 scope. If you store is out of the correct size you can get a raincheck.

I haven't been back there yet, but I might go tonight, you gave me an idea :rotfl2:

Don't bother to head over there tonight. I just got back and they still don't have clearance percentage signs displayed. I just don't get it because they did have 75% off signs on most of their summer merchandise last Saturday or Sunday. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I also noticed a different manager and a different cashier that I've never seen there before so maybe they have had another turn over with staff. No one seems to stay at that store for long.

Ok, so has this ever happened to you?

Just got back where I KNOW I gave the clerk more coupons than she gave me credit for. I usually hand them to the clerk one at a time, but today they were super busy, and well, I don't know why I didn't!

One other time I thought I'd given more coupons than credited, so I asked and sure enough, they had 'stuck' together. ?:confused3? Whether they did or not, I at least realized it in time, but couldn't help think the clerk might be saving it for herself...?

But this time I'm certain I gave her 3 more $1 off coupons, and yet I know there's nothing I can do about it now. :(

So has that happened to any of you, that you know of? I'm so mad at myself!!!

It's happened to me, too. Not just at CVS but at other stores, too. I feel your pain! :headache:

Thanks for saving me a trip, I really didn't want to go anyway. I don't know why they can't keep anyone there, its such a nice store.

Yep, it happens to me so I have learned to count my coupons before I check out and then count the scan noise and say "wait a minute" before they press total. I also alternate IPs with insert coupons as they will stick together like new money.

I always wanted to hand over my coupons one at a time but I thought I was over-reacting. Maybe I should be doing that too, because there have been a few times where the coupon beeps and the cashier just keeps going and makes a big mess of the whole thing. :confused3

That has happened to me too. I try to keep my transactions smaller to use less coupons, then it is easier to keep track of things. It is a big problem for me at Kmart double coupon events...you have to watch them like a hawk! At the grocery store, I usually use the scan guns (scan and bag as I shop) and then when I do the self checkout I can scan my own coupons.

:confused3 I had the same thing happen last week at a flea market in Shipshewana, IN. We didn't walk the whole thing but just a few rows in from where we started a lady had several tubs full of some of the same things we've been getting at CVS and Walgreens.

OOOHHHH Shipshewana now that is a flea market. I love it!! Bet I could have found the knock off Coach purse I was looking for there.:cool1: We spent 2 days there one time.

Thanks bunches.

I usually have it figured out in my head approximately how much the total should be. So if the total appears more, I have them count the coupons to make sure they were all scanned. That seems easier to me than counting coupons or counting beeps, etc.
