weekends in october

my dh and i are thinking of going a last-minute friday night to sunday night trip in october to use our dvc membership for the first time. otherwise we can't go until sometime next summer, and we just want to use it soon since we bought earlier this year.

how are the crowds on the weekends in october? we will have trouble getting a studio or a 1 bedroom at the last minute? our home resort is bwv, but we're fine with staying anywhere dvc.

most DVC members like to stay Sun-thurs (lower points) so the weekends should be pretty easy to get.

the crowds - I think it deponds what is happening at the parks - the wine/food festavial will be at Epcot - but if something especially is happening in the other parks - expect locals - this is the off season so their Seaonal annual pass will work at this time.

I tried to get a studio at OKW for Sat. & Sun., 10/23 & 10/24 and could only get Saturday night. So I took the Saturday and Sunday will stay with friends in Poinciana. I realize I could have wait listed but decided it was a good time to visit with these friends.

You may be able to find a one bedroom.

Good luck! It's a great time to be at WDW! The parks are definitely more crowded on the weekend but still doable.

I was able to book a studio at OKW for the weekend of 10/15/- 10/17 just a couple of weeks ago.

You might want to try there. OKW isn't that close to Epcot, so it might still have some rooms available.
