Today:AK, Epcot, and Le Cellier!

We were up very early and I went down to the food court with FIL to get breakfast for everyone. We let DS sleep a little longer. We got Mickey Waffles, OJ, and milk. The food court did not open until 7 am , but the bakery was open earlier. Brought the food back to the room, ate, and got ready to go to AK!

Got there about 8:15 and had a little wait. They did let everyone in early (just the oasis), and some characters did come out (Mickey, Daisy, Timon, and a few others). There were also some CM's with small animals. We made our way towards Africa and the crowd was backed up all the way to the entrance of Harambe Village. It was then that we decided to go against the flow and head over to Dinoland . It was empty!!!! Rode Triceratops Spin 2x and Primeval Whirl (my new favortie ride) 2x. I took DS to to play at the Boneyard, while DH, MIL, and FIL went to ride Dinosaur. The Boneyard was very quiet and cool at this time (complete shade). Then DH came back and said he was taking FIL and MIL over to It's Tough to Be A Bug and that he would run over to the Safari for FP's. He was back in a few minutes and DH, DS, and I went to the ITTBAB exit and waited for FIL and MIL. We had enough time to go to Kali River Rapids before our FP. This ride is so much fun and way too short. Nobody was wearing ponchos today!!!! IT was DS's first time on and he loved it. My DH didn't get wet until the last drop and then he got soaked. DS was laughing so hard! We walked right on to the Safari. This time we got to see some beautiful Giraffe eating from the trees. Then one of them kind of galloped away. It was sooo beautiful!!!! I forgot to mention that this time we took the bus from the resort. It was nice to not have to drive. We also got to see some of AKL, which you don't get to see when driving. After the safari, we went to lunch at Pizzafari and had our usual. We did a little shopping- got some AK t-shirts and an eeyore doll for DS (the only pooh character he was missing) and headed out to the buses. We just waited a few minutes for a bus and then it was off to CBR.

Got back to CBR around 1pm. I had requested early room make-up and this is what we found when we got back: both rooms were spotless and DS's pooh characters were sitting on FIL and MIL's bed watching TV (the Disney Channel, of course!) and DS's Mickey and friends were reading a book on our bed. There were towel ducks and bunnies in both rooms. It was sooo cute!!!! Love that magic!!! Anyway, we spent the afternoon at the quiet pool. While FIL and MIL watched DS, DH and I went to get drinks at the Banana Cabana. We went to lay in the hammocks on the beach and it was soooo HOT!!!! Around 3pm we all fell asleep in the rooms. got up around 5 and out the door by 5:30, as we had a 6:20 PS at Le Cellier! Again, we didn't have to wait long for a bus and we were off to Epcot!

I forgot to mention that my mom and her DH were also at WDW (at Coronado Springs). They had gone to Epcot that day and when I spoke to her, she said the park was empty. It was not at all crowded when we arrived (stopped at Ice Staion Cool), but even with a PS we still had to wait 20 minutes for a table (those without a PS had and hour and a half wait!). While we waited , Ds got to start on a mask at the kidcot station. Le Cellier was all that I had hoped and more! The service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. Love that cheese soup and pretzel bread!!!! I had the sweet potato ravioli. It was one of the best things that I've ever eaten!!!!! Can't wait to eat there again!!!! We walked through Great Britain and stopped at Rose and Crown so DH could get a Bass Ale. I went into the Tea Caddy and got my mom some tea and a little spoon for mother's day. I also got some tea for myself! Here is where I witnessed some REAL DISNEY MAGIC. There was a little boy in front of me, paying for a candy bar. He was a dollar short and before I could get a dollar from my bag, he was walking away very sad. Then the CM (Jamie), called out to him and tossed him the candy bar.

We walked around in France for a little while and then over to Morocco to catch Tapestry of Dreams . I never get tired of this parade. We just got to see the end of it. Then I had to get DS out of there. He hates Illuminations (and all fireworks). So, I left DH and his parents behind to enjoy Illuminiations. It was such a long walk to the entrance. We barely made it out before it started. As I walked by Test Track, there was a CM waving at people to come in- NO WAIT!!!!!! DS did not want to go on, so I headed to the bus. We got to CBR in no time and while DS ate a snack and watched Toon Disney, I packed up and arranged for express checkout and Mickey wake up calls. We all finally got to bed at 11pm. Tomorrow- check out,
Crystal Palace and the MK!!!

thanks for posting, i wanted to try le cellier when we were there in april but didnt work out, but will definately go next time.

Did you mom and dh like the coronado? that is where we were planning on staying when we go back to wdw.

Glad you are having a great start!!!

love, poohangel:jester:

Le Cellier...just makes me drool to think about it...Guess the best little known place to eat is pretty well known now!

yes, they were right near our room (and vending machines).

My mom and her DH loved Coronado and said they wouldn't stay at the AS again. I had the opposite reaction. I guess if I had stayed longer, I would have eventually used some of the amenities at CBR. I did go down the pool slide once!

Do you think the slide at CBR is to big for a 2 year old (she is not afraid of anything)?

susy,

Thanks so much for posting the story about the boy and the candy bar. VERY VERY nice!

Yes, I think the slide at CBR is too rough for a 2yo. I wouldn't even put my 4yo on it. I hit the water pretty hard. I weigh 105 and I had to really hold onto my bikini!!!! I think , however, that my 13 and 15yo niece and nephew would have thought the slide was too babyish. It seemed to really appeal to the 7-10 crowd!
