We are planning our next trip for September 2007, with an arrival of sometime from Thurs to Sat after labor day, then 9 nights thereafter.

My question: Is the weekend after labor day busy because people are taking advantage of the short week to get a vacation with fewer days off? Is the period so slow anyway that it doesn't matter?

Should we push our days further back to avoid that weekend?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

We haven't been for Labor Day but I have friends who have been. They say that the three day holiday weekend is pretty busy, not like Christmas or mid-summer, but moderately busy or a little more. On Tuesday the crowds drop drastically and remain fairly low throughout the week. The next weekend is usually Night of Joy, two nights of Contemporary Chritian music. These are hard ticket events, just remember that if you do not attend the MK will close early those nights. NOJ is fairly crowded, church youth groups from all over always attend. We hope to be there for NOJ next September. Other than that, I think it should be a fine time to go. It is still HOT and hurricane season, and it MAY be free dining if Disney offers that again. So....it really just depends on if this is a good time for you. IF they offer free food, do you want it or would you rather go after it ends to have less crowds??? A lot to think about....Lacee
adding....I have never heard complaints about the teens attending NOJ like you hear about PW and cheerleaders, but they will affect crowds. After NOJ crowds should be low to moderate.

I have been there 3 times the week before Labor Day up to and including Labor Day weekend. The attendance is very low. It definately picks up for LD weekend and then drops off dramatically. One year, my Labor Day flight home did not leave until 7pm. There was no one..... I MEAN NO ONE..... at the resort at 4pm that Monday. I bet the first week of September is the absolute best and I would definately go that week (or the next week) if my kids weren't back in school.

I remember someone posting right after Labor Day 2006 that Labor Day Week was the best ever. You might try a search.
We went 9-13 to 9-18. There was a huge increase in the crowd levels on 9-15. I think people came in for Mickey's Not So Very Halloween Party and stayed the weekend. We stayed at Pop and even the resort was busier!
