Happy Sunday Wish team!

I love it when I get all my miles in during the week and I get to take Sunday off. I slept in until 6:15 this morning. Ahhhh.

Have a great day everyone!

Cecilia

Yeah Maura : You started the new week.

I was able to get in my 8 miles this morning in between the rains!! I was totally drenched last night at the game. Watching some NFL and getting ready for some nascar.

Tracy

I somehow missed ALL of last week's thread so I wanted to jump in quick before we got behind.

Today was a rest day. I did 11 miles yesterday with my Galloway Group. That's the first time I crossed the double digit threshold. My prior long was the Minnie at 9.6 miles! Not really too sore today.

This week I am off to Kansas so if I can find someplace to run at least it will be FLAT. Not going to do a lot since I am doing the Race for the Taste Sunday!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hi, Friends!

Maura, thanks for starting this. :)

Cecilia--way to get those steps in! Sleeping in on a Sunday--what could be better? :)

Hi, Tracy!

CarolA, I missed last week, too. Have a good week!

As for me, I had a car accident this past week (a woman was stopped in the middle of a toll road highway--for no reason--and while I bumped her car in trying to stop, the person behind me hit me much harder). I'm okay, but I feel like I was in a tumble dryer for a day. Just kind of sore. Last night I had a terrible headache, but today was better. So DH and I participated in a 5-mile charity walk on the boardwalk. Woohoo!

We're getting serious about that Donald now, I tell you!

See you all later this week!

Hi everyone!!

Duckie: :wave2:

Just thought I would share photos of my niece today at the Pumpkin Patch. I know what your thinking....Pumpkin Patch in South Florida, well, yes we have them. (Just shipped in from other areas)

And my niece is Chinese, My sister and BIL adopted her from there when she was 9 months old. She'll be 4 in Feb.

Have a great Sunday evening!!

Duckie pixiedust:.

Tracy, cutie patootie pictures.

As for me, 20 miles today. First 16 were good, last four were walking. Not enough sleep last night. Fuel shortage as well, so I stopped at the gas station to pick something up.

Off to ice bath, then Girl Scouts meeting.

Good Monday Morning to Everyone!

Got my LR in. It was beautiful outside. I did 10 miles in 1:35.

This struck me a funny since we have been having major gasoline shortages all over Atlanta. Most stations don't have gas and the ones that do have long lines. So it took me a few seconds to realize you were talking about food not gas....

Wow another week already.

Duckie - Sorry to hear about your car crash. Hope you are feeling better.
CarolA - Yeah on your double digits - I got there like 2 weeks ago and its a wierd feeling but also a good feeling!! Congrats.

As for me I have 5 miles easy (I think) on schedule for tonight. Can't manage to get up and do it in the morning and have enough time to make to work on time. I had a rest day yesterday. Saturday was supposed to be a new distance for me (11 miles) so I got up and made sure I was early since I wanted to make it with the 5:30AM group. Well when I got to the running store it started raining (the weather guy had said that the rain was supposed to come in the afternoon so I thought it was good for the morning - guess he was a few hours off!!) it wasn't raining hard but enough to make you wet. I don't know about you but for me it was REALLY hard to go get wet when I was perfectly dry. But I did and we were off a little before 5:40AM. Luckily my friend was there this week - she is training for the Nike Women's Marathon on Oct 19th in San Franciso so she wasn't planning on going more then 12 since she is in the taper phase. We ended up staying with each other the whole time - we have a pretty similar pace and she realized she needed to put her walk breaks back into her training since the last 2 weeks she tried without them and felt really bad afterwords. The rain didn't help things either. We kept stepping in puddles and felt about 100 lbs heavier. We made it to about 5.25 miles before we turned around so I am confident that we got 10.5 miles in and we were finished in about 2 hours 10 minutes. I don't know why but I was craving chocolate milk after so on my way home I stopped and bought some. YUM it was good. Next Saturday I don't have to get up early because me and my DH are doing a local 5k. Which reminds me I better register us both for that before the online registration closes - whoops!!

Where in Kansas? Depending on where you are going you may find it surprisingly hilly. :goodvibes

This week I am in Wichita. Looking out the window it looks VERY flat.

It also looks VERY WET! Plus I hear thunder. I wonder if the budget hotel has a gym?

Hmm..

Haven't been here in weeks, primarily because the injuries just got to be too much for me and I just gave up. Then I got depressed :sad1: and didn't want to be here, but I poked my head in every now and then just to see what was happening :listen: (which by the way, hasn't been a whole lot - the boards have been REALLY quiet lately!)

Then I looked at the calendar and realized I have a half marathon in 4 weeks... 2 weeks ago I went out and did 4+ miles - instead of the old R3/W1, I decided to try W4/R1. None of the old aches and pains surfaced, and my average pace wasn't that much slower. Sunday I did 6.3 miles in an avg 13:16/mile and felt really good. :yay: I think if I do 8 next weekend, 10 the next, and 12 the next, I'll be right on target for the half on 11/2 and can then keep on training and be ready for Disney in January. :thumbsup2

I had hoped to be able to mostly run the full, but I've lowered my standards to being happy to finish it healthy. Considering that a month ago I was telling people that I'd quit running, I'll take that!

Jackie

Jackie

Jackie, once a runner, always a runner.

I quit for 11 years (1995 to 2006), and now look at me. Mushu keeps saying she quit, yet she keeps signing up for races.

It's been quite here because you, Deb, Amybeth, Scott, and Amy haven't been around.

Jackie: That sounds horrible that you almost gave in and stopped running. Hey girl, just keep at it for the joy of it. I think sometimes we forget and keep thinking of time/pace/PRs and etc and not just about the feeling of just getting out there and having the wind on your face and the freedom of movement.
We're Inspired to Stay Healthy.
Sometimes I just don't wear my Garmi or I make it a goal to not look at it and just go at whatever pace my body feels that particular day.
I hope things work out for you and you stay with any kind of running/walking that makes you feel good.

Yes, boards are quiet around here. Alot of the oldies are missing. Where is everyone that was on here when I came aboard in February?? I haven't seen Scott and Amy on in quite sometime and I know that Debra and Duckie are out there somewhere.

Hope everyone is doing well,

Tracy

Hi everybody! :wave2:

I missed last week's thread. I kinda took off the last couple weeks after the Philly Distance Run. Needed to let the body heal and give the mental aspect a break. I was just tired.:faint: mentally and physically.

Feeling better now and will start training for the RnR 1/2 in Phoenix in mid-January.

The boards sometimes go in spurts. As we get closer to the WDW marathon weekend, it tends to pick up. I think everyone is having a case of LTO.

Duckie - sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you're ok.

Jackie - don't quit. Just change your outlook. I agree, we sometimes get caught up in the times, etc. when we should be glad we're able to get out and put in the steps. (wish I felt that way at about 17  )

CarolA - great job on the 11 miles! :thumbsup2

Terri

Hi everyone!

Jackie - don't quit!

I find that my biggest challange is having the time to get my workouts in. I work way too many hours and don't get home until late. Then it is time for dinner and bed. I am trying to switch to a morning routine with little success. We'll see if I can do it tomorrow!

Five month until my first 1/2!

Jackie - yay for not quitting!

Sorry - totally LTO today.
Just back from 5 miles. We w4/r1 the first 4 miles.
I think Mom was even more beat than me, so we stuck to walking for the last mile.

Thanks everybody! I knew if I could just get brave enough to come back, you guys would help me feel better. :)

Did 3 miles on the TM this morning - REALLY slow. Just kinda ran when I felt like it and walked when I didn't. My lungs have a long way to go to get back to where they were! But I'm trying hard not to stress about it, to just go with it and be glad I'm doing it. You should hear the conversations in my head!

Kristi - Glad to hear someone else is doing a W4/R1. Wanna do the full with me?

Terri - Glad you're feeling better and ready to start training again.

Carol - Welcome to the double digit club!

Jackie

DH's grandfather passed away last night. :sad1:

He was 92 years old, and had been having some health issues, so it wasn't entirely a surprise. Doesn't make it much easier, though. He was DH's last surviving grandparent.
