Week of November 2 - anything going on???

The reason I ask, we just returned from 2 weeks at AKV and OKW, and the bounceback offer in our room included all weeks surrounding the first week of November, but left out that first week. I'm planning a birthday trip in a studio for my 40th on Nov. 3 for four nights, and I'm just worried that I'm not going to be able to have much of a choice if there's something going on. Please enlighten me oh wise DIS'ers!

That week is known as "Jersey Week". Since the New Jersey Teachers have an annual convention and the schools are closed for part of the week, many NJ families take the kids and go to WDW for the entire week.

DVC accomodations fill very quickly for that week and it wouldn't surprise me if the non-DVC resorts fill quickly as well. Ther are lots of Disney-lovers in NJ. IIRC, NJ has either the most or second most DVC members of the 50 states.

Halloween Party stops, Halloween decor comes down - and Christmas decor goes up (just in advance of the Christmas Party starting). Not a bad time in general, but you miss both Halloween & Christmas decor/festivities.

My DH's birthday is November 3rd too. We do celebrate it in WDW from time to time.

Thanks everyone! I've heard of 'Jersey Week' - doesn't bother me as I planned on not doing the parks (been twice this year already) - just wanted to relax at a DVC resort, enjoy touring around the other resorts, and maybe finally catching Cirque du Soleil and a couple of nice dinners. Wish me luck though - can't call until tomorrow afternoon for ressie, so hope they have a studio available for me somewhere!

How does bounceback work with DVC?

Don't forget there is the Epcot Food and Wine Festival from September 26 until November 9. Besides it being Jersey week, you might find it hard to book a studio.

How does bounceback work with DVC?

The bounceback offers do not apply to those paying with points. But the info is in the DVC rooms. That's probably because people do reserve the DVC resort rooms via CRO for cash.

I'm not interested in paying out of pocket when I have points to use, so I've never asked if a DVC member staying on points during the offer period could call CRO and get the bounceback rate. Maybe someone else has done it and will let us know.

So far so good, just to update all of you - got a studio for 3 out of 4 nights at SSR for first week of Nov. - got a fourth night reserved a day early just in case I can't get the last day I want (waitlisted for it). OKW was not available at all that week, but she said the week before or the week after would be no problem - unfortunatley, I want to be there ON my 40th birthday, so I don't want to change the week!
