Week before Easter this year - doable at all?

We’re considering a spring break trip. It would be me, my husband, and our DD2. I am a teacher, so we’re extremely limited in when we can go. My spring break is the same week as most of California’s - the week before Easter. I also know about the CA resident ticket deal, which I assume will make things even worse.

Our original plan was to go in the summer, but I’m pregnant (yay!), and I’ll be too pregnant by then to feel comfortable walking around so much, based on how I felt during my first pregnancy.

We went for DD2’s second birthday in June and had a blast. She loves and adores carousels, and Disneyland’s is obviously the best. She’d probably be happy riding the carousel over and over all day. She also loved the Pooh ride and IASW. And she loved Carsland and Jessie’s carousel over at DCA.

Given the fact that we’re not planning to go on any “big” rides, and that my daughter’s favorite things (the carousels) have the shortest lines, is there ANY way we could do this without being totally miserable? Will the packed walkways/eating meals with nowhere to sit/trying to go to the bathroom with insane lines just make the whole thing unending misery, or is it worth going?

FWIW, we are DLR vets and former local APs, and I did go the week before Easter in 2022 and thought it was fine….but that was an adults only trip, Easter was very late that year (4/17), and there was no CA resident ticket deal. So I know we’re dealing with a different situation altogether.

Congratulations!

I don't think spring break is as rough as fall break in October. You know the parks well, you know your child well, and you know how to pace yourself. The only thing you don't know is how to visit Disneyland with a toddler while being pregnant. If I remember correctly, last time you spent a decent amount of time enjoying the ambiance. If you are realistic with your expectations, I think you will be fine.

Congratulations! I think you'll be fine going at that time, especially if you rope drop and go back for hotel breaks in the afternoon.

HA! This is definitely the truth….!

We do like a slower trip and taking things at our daughter’s pace, and found we were totally fine with that last time, yes! We also didn’t get to all the ambience things we’d planned to do, either - like Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer Island.

We ALWAYS rope drop - that 8-10am time is our favorite! I guess I’m a little worried it wouldn’t be as much of an advantage during spring break. Or maybe I overestimate people’s willingness to get up early on vacation….? We also love our PM hotel breaks and did that even pre-toddler.

I think even during spring break alot of people stay in bed!
