Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

This is me too - yoga leggings/capris and tees. hoodie for AM/PM. I'll have a pair of long pants or two just in case. And comfy tennis shoes.

Function over fashion for me!

If I had a pair of jeans that fit well I'd wear those, but after converting to leggings and yoga pants 75% of the time I just don't love wearing jeans haha.

Old Navy has jeggings with elastic waist tops. Think denim yoga leggings. They're amazing. They have two shades of blue, black and gray. I may have multiples in each color:P

Ummmm why have I not discovered these. I have a pair of jeggings (seriously still cringe at that word lol) from target and I hate them. Too loose in the butt/things, too tight st he bottom. Blech.

I will have to try these Magical old navy ones! Thanks for the tip!

From PA too...snow coming on Sunday! Just a little too soon for us to miss it....looks like a trace to 10 inches! LOL :rotfl2:

I'm debating canceling our sci fi reservation. Here's why, Vader chicken and waffles at Back lot express are a must. Then we have JBJB dessert party. I have never been to ScI Fi before. Thoughts?

I think you'd be fine skipping Sci-Fi if there's something else you feel more strongly about or if you don't have the time. The atmosphere is neat and unique but it's not something I felt we needed to repeat this trip. For us the food was good but pretty standard sandwiches and burgers. I heard the shakes were really good but we didn't try them.

My kiddos like Sci Fi so it's usually our go-to when at Hollywood. Cool atmosphere, food is pretty basic burgers and stuff. Your day wouldn't happen to be on 12/1 would it? LOL I'm looking for an earlier time on that day than 2:50. If you do decide to cancel it, post it here first! :rainbow:

Y'all, I have been in denial over this, but I have to face the facts. We are leaving next Thursday, and my toe still hurts. I ingured it 10/24. It's way better than it was, and if I just sit there it doesn't usually hurt. However, it's still swollen and I can't bend it, and I hobble around. After walking around Target, it is throbbing. I have to come to terms with the fact that it won't be okay come disney. I honestly thought it would be fine by now. I just found out that my doc dropped me because I hadn't been in 3 years (pregnancies and not getting ill) so I have to get in for a new patient appointment first, so I guess I'll go to the urgent care type place and see if I can get a boot or something. Anyone ever have to deal with something like this at disney? Advice?

As an adult I loved the food last year at Sci Fi. Plus it was quiet in there and I didn't feel rushed. I can't remember what my picky kids ate... But probably chicken. I would do it again but an ADR just doesn't fit with our HS plans this year. So we are going to try the Vader waffles and chicken. I know my kids will be thrilled, although I doubt the quality is anything to rave about. I might try the Vader burger.

I'm so sorry. :( I don't have any advice but I hope they can give you something you can be comfortable in.

Which toe is it? Big toe? There's not a ton you can do for toes unless it is seriously displaced. I would still go to an urgent care to get an x ray. If it's like a turf toe injury there's steel inserts you can put in your shoes (amazon) to keep you from bending your toe joint. Feel free to message me and I'll send you the link for the insert. You can also try the buddy tape method to tape it to toe next to it to stabilize it..

I broke my ankle before a Disney trip in high school. My friends pushed me in a wheelchair and we got to cut most lines :)

I always use my urgent care with good results, so I'd definitely head there first and see what they recommend. Good luck!

When I first started reading I thought you were going to say you aren't able to go to Disney! I am so glad that isnt it but it sucks that you're dealing with a broken toe. When I broke my toe I had a boot because I broke it right in half. It took longer to get around but it wasn't too bad. Do you have a freezer in your room to take ice packs? Just plan on resting more but it will be disney and even resting can be enjoyable!

Back in 2014 my dad shattered some bones in his foot right before a Disney trip and had to be in a wheelchair the entire trip. I'd recommend renting a chair from an off-site property, because the day they did Magic Kingdom, all the ECVs were rented and dad had to use a standard wheelchair, and my mom and friend didn't like pushing him around all day. If you rent off-property you can get an ECV for the duration of your stay, I believe. Hope your toe feels better soon!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your toe! I hope the urgent care can help. I have a kind of similar problem. I was wearing in new tennis shoes and they began to hurt the arch of my right foot. I wore them longer than I should before I decided to abandon them. Now my right foot still hurts! I know it's too late to do anything now so I just have to push through it. It's not unbearable pain. Once I get going, I don't notice it. But when I stop and start again it's a reminder for sure.

It's so hard for foot issues to heal since you can't really avoid using them.
