Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I got clearance from my doctor on Thursday to stop my blood thinners...it was an AWFUL 3 months on those meds. Ugh. Crazy fatigue, dizziness, and let's just say my monthly "friend" was 10x worse. I was so glad to be done before the trip, and hoping to get some energy back before we leave. Yay!!

However now I am an anxious mess worrying about more clots. I know realistically my risk is fairly minimal now that I'm off the birth control that caused it. But in my head I'm panicking. I had a dream last night that I collapsed at the MK and had to be rushed to the hospital with lungs full of clots from the plane ride :( I've never been an anxious person, this is driving me crazy!! I need to channel this nervous energy into cleaning and packing...
Deep breath. You will be ok!

One week from now we will be on our flight to Florida!

I should be cleaning and packing and maybe pulling out Christmas decorations. Instead I'm laying on the couch watching Harry Potter :P

I was excited to see HP on today! DH is gone for the 2nd weekend in a row (hunting) so this should captivate their interest for a while so I can get some things done. Still haven't officially started packing but I have started a mental list of my planned outfits and have thrown some kids shirts into a pile. We are off school next week so hopefully that will help too. The tricky part is getting out of the house to get the last minute things.

I was able to grab some toiletries at Target on my lunch on Thursday. Relying on Amazon for random things I forget - just got some Immune C and elderberry gummies delivered and the hand sanitizer is on its way . . . .

Can anyone here help me out? I'm trying to understand the whole tipping thing a little better. I know we're supposed to tip the DME driver if he handles our bags, but do I tip him when I give him the bags? When I get the bags back from him? Or both times?

Made a Target run for our breakfast foods, stretchy gloves, and other tidbits today. DD got her ear tubes yesterday without any issues - hooray!

If I can make it through a work trip Mon-Tues and Thanksgiving, it will be time to go!

Also - there was a bit on the DPB that Moana would be getting to WDW by the end of the month (at Aulani already). Might need to add that to the plans!

Squee!

Oh no :( did you go in?? any update??

My best advice is REST, ice it, elevate it, and try "buddy taping" it to the next toe to help stabilize. And good socks and shoes.

Barring that, if you're still hobbling I think I'd try out a knee scooter for Disney. Enough to stay off the hurt foot, but smaller and easier to maneuver. and you don't have to use your arms to push yourself, rely on someone else to push you, or be confined to an ECV if you dont want to go that route...
I got a boot and feel like a new woman! I should have been given one right away, I'd probably be fine by now. I may not even need it by the trip, but will take it regardless. Doc took x rays again, just tears in the main tendons. I think immobilizing it will allow me to heal very quickly. :-)

Yay! Glad you're on the road to recovery!

Fantastic news!

So I DVRed Nightmare Before Christmas - have never seen it, and thought since it is a part of JBJB, I should try to see what all the fuss is about. So far I am not understanding. Is it just that I don't really like Halloween that much?

I will keep trying, but I don't know...

It didn't hold my interest well either . . .

Sounds like this vacation is much needed! Try and trust your doctor. I think once you are down there you'll be so busy you won't have time to worry.

I feel like Nightmare is one of "those" movies you had to have loved as a kid in order to appreciate it? It's a cult classic. We love it. Even my kids love it, but they watched it starting pretty young because I love it. My DH *HATES* it haha. You're not alone!

my 2yo has been wanting to listen to the soundtrack to Nightmare Before Christmas on repeat...well that, along with Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk, Queen's We will Rock You, and the Hamilton soundtrack. He's got eclectic tastes, like his mom :rotfl:
