Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Spoiler Alert! Preview of the new drone show at Disney Springs posted by rteetz:

Wow! Now how am I going to fit that into my schedule?! I'll be interested to see what time(s) it runs...

Here's a question for you smart folks -- my parents are actually taking us on this trip, and it's going to be amazing, and we are so, so grateful. Does anyone have any suggestions for a thank-you gift for them? I will do something with the photos when we return but I'm just not that creative. If you have any suggestions I'm all ears!

I did some digging and found a post about it on wdwmagic where someone said it's a test at Pop and the All Stars resorts, so possibly not property-wide just yet. It was also mentioned that there would be no charge from "approved vendors" though I have no idea who is on that list.

If anyone still needs a powerbank, Amazon has 3 RavPower versions on sale today. I own the big one and it's currently $24.99, which I think is a great deal!

This week's to do list:

- clean up the ipads and clear space, make sure movies are loaded. Find a few new apps to keep the kids entertained. Find headphones for kids and make sure they still work.

- start sorting through the tote of trip stuff I have been collecting for months...start putting together toiletry cases, carry on backpacks.

- gather all my memory cards, external chargers, cords, etc and make sure all are still good to go and will hold a charge.

what's everyone's to do list for the week?!
Well seeing as how I have just now ordered magic band decals, I still need to wait for those to arrive and add those... I need to go pick up luggage from a friend tomorrow and meet with our relator tomorrow. Decided at last minute to board the dogs since the house will be on the market so our friend doesn't have to mess with that stress. So I just get to deal with the added stress of that payment. :( Plus they told me they have a new policy that they have to have their shots 7 days prior to boarding so I need to take both dogs to get their shots tomorrow! I still need to get my house power cleaned for pictures for the website this week. Then I can deal with packing this weekend. I have all DD shirts washed and told DH not to let her wear them again so I have them all in one place ready to pack. I ordered my groceries (finally). I am rearranging a few ADR and cancelling the last few hold outs. DD has Santa pics on Saturday as well. I am on call on Monday and then work Wednesday next week. How has this month flown by so fast?!!

Truthfully, if they are like most middle aged and up people, they don't need/want more "stuff", so I would stick with what most people can appreciate: pictures. I would just focus on getting one really good group photo while there. When you get back, have it printed and go to hobby lobby or someplace and have it framed. If you are going to a character meal, you can have the characters sign a mat with different color sharpie, and use that with it. Give them the framed photo with a nice thank you note.

You're very right that they have everything. Good idea - focus on one great quality shot of all of us. That's priceless :)

Chief on my list this week is not to have a last minute freak out and decide all my plans are terrible and need to be changed. So, lots of deep breathing.

Otherwise I STILL have to apply decals and STILL have to pack, lol. I need to go through my collection of trip stuff too. We told the office but need to send a note to K and 3rd grade teachers. Good call on headphones, we have a bunch around here but not sure which ones work. Need to finalize BOG order. Find ponchos.

I have a TP room request fax ready, should I also call and have the same request put on my reservation? I didn't do it initially. I've already done the online check in but the only request I have wasn't available in the drop-down menu on the online check in.

I also have the TP fax ready and called today to add my request to my reservation.

My parents did the same a couple years ago. We surprised them with a package from the Disney florist, a few treats, Mickey plush and photo frame. Expensive but when split between the siblings not too bad. It might be too late for this but what about a dessert party or treating them to MVMCP?

You could have your pictures made into a picture book at Shutterfly. I have done that for my mother the last couple trips and she loves it.
