Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Ok please don't throw rotten food at me but I am ok with the holiday show (ducks to avoid rotten tomato) I really wanted to see the Star Wars show but this one looks good too. But I don't have any boys or girls who love Star Wars, only me. I do think too many changes will drive people away. Especially last minute ones.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It involves beauty and the beast AND nightmare before Christmas so I can deal with that. Maybe I'll get those light up Christmas necklaces now! Haha

Well, I feel like a total failure now. I should have known better than to talk about ANYTHING Disney with the family. I'm dreading telling them this news. :sad1:

I got burned last year telling my kid about Jedi training and the baymax meet. Both were gone while we were there. Lesson learned - not even telling the kids we are going until the morning we leave this time!!

Someone mentioned they might be adding rogue one scenes during the break. And they know they will have the busy holiday crowds anyways so it was a good time for them. Big bummer for us.

I think I may end up just forgoing our evening visit to DHS now, I will need to give up going to Sci-fi, but its not the end of the world if we do. There are plenty of other things we can do that night, including hitting up DS and more of the restaurants we wanted to try out. Hopefully they will release hours the next few days and I can make some decisions.

Glad I made a HM FP for 11/27. Guess we will have to watch Nightmare Before Christmas to catch up on that.

Maybe DD being more into Harry Potter and Pokémon right now will dull the pain from no Star Wars fireworks.

*shakes fist at Disney*

My kids have all tried to watch Nightmare Before Christmas and none of them liked it enough to finish watching. I've never seen it but the name and style of animation totally turns me off. :sad2:

Oh man really?! I love stop motion!! And the score by Danny Elfman is just so good.

I wasn't planning on the Fireworks at DHS as we aren't Star Wars fans (please don't flame me!), so I am actually pleased about the holiday themed show. I am sorry for those of you who were hoping for the Star Wars fireworks. ☹️ You folks seem to be in the majority on this thread.

Maybe it depends on the age of your children? I thought that about the movie title when they were younger but we rented it a couple of years ago & my teens loved it! They also love starwars but this trip is a surprise so they don't know what they are missing.

ETA We all loved Osborne lights when we were there the week of Christmas a few years ago. So happy were were able to see it before it left forever.

I have ages 16-8. None of them liked it. That's okay though, not everyone likes everything. :)

Me too. The star wars desert party and show were one of the things that we were looking forward to the most. :(
The dessert party for the new show does look neat, we'll do it, but I'm still sad.

I called and booked the JBJB dessert party for 12/3. I'm pretty excited for it....more so than if it was still star wars themed. Sorry folks.

Now I'm contemplating the Wishes plaza viewing dessert party on 11/30. I know we had talked about a meet up that night, but I'm a little worried about the crowd level that night. It's a non-party night with PM EMHs. The plaza viewing party is more reasonable at $49 per adult. I haven't had any luck securing a dinner that night at a good time. Currently I'm holding on to a CRT @ 8:15pm that's later than I want. Maybe the dessert party would be a better option. But I don't want to miss a meet up! haha

How much is the JBJB dessert party?

I wonder how big the plaza viewing part of it is - that's a lot more affordable than the other parties and to have a secured spot for wishes on a non party night would be pretty damn awesome. Hmmmmm...

Yes...come over to the dark side with me...:darth:

$69 per adult, $39 for kids. Includes tax and gratuity.
Wow. Our kids are teens= adult $. So $280. Don't think we like dessert that much :o. But no judgement from me about those who purchase it. I may or may not have just shelled out more than that for the Disney lego cinderella castle for Christmas. :rolleyes1:o

DH & I finished building our castle last weekend. It was SO MUCH FUN!

I wish I could justify the party cost, but $150 just so we don't have to stake out a spot an hour early seems like a lot.

Oh I definitely understand that. It's just me and DH...and we're considering this trip a "splurge" trip since it's our honeymoon. I'm also considering it a meal really. We are skipping a TS dinner that night and only doing QS and snacks after the dessert party.

I have to go google this lego castle now....
