Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

We are staying at GF for 6 nights and WL for the last 3. Could not get 9 nights consecutive at GF, and crazily enough, WL was the only resort that had opening for those last 3 nights.
Unfortunately I have been trying every single day to get one meal at the Grand Floridian Cafe, and also Garden View Tea Room and so far there has been nothing available. I'm hoping that someone is holding on to reservations that they will be cancelling.
I saw a bunch of dinners at gfc for four people on December 1 if you are still looking and it works for your party size.

Glad I got those Fastpasses for before the closing.

Kinda bummed about no Star Wars fireworks, but trying to look on the bright side and hoping for lower wait times at rides.

BTW Fireworks times are now listed for DHS, hours not extended, but at least we have one more piece of the puzzle.
What time are the scheduled for?

It looks like they moved Santa to Hollywood studios too. Man Disney was busy this morning.

I saw the updated fireworks times. Looks like they are every night so now back to the schedule to maybe actually finalize a plan? (minus any potential ROL but not holding my breath at this point).

Ok please don't throw rotten food at me but I am ok with the holiday show (ducks to avoid rotten tomato) I really wanted to see the Star Wars show but this one looks good too. But I don't have any boys or girls who love Star Wars, only me. I do think too many changes will drive people away. Especially last minute ones.

Where are you seeing the times/dates? (Lurker who has loved the info shared on this thread. Visiting a few days before many of you.) Thanks in advance!!!

Regarding the Star Wars Fireworks...I feel like this might be the case of the vocal minority vs the silent majority. I'm sure there were lots of people complaining about the absence of Osborne lights and non star wars fans saying there's too much Star Wars at DHS. So in order to please both of these vocal crowds they threw together this show. Meanwhile, tons of people were planning their fall vacations based on the new Star Wars offerings but since they didn't "hear" from us they assumed everyone wanted change. What a mess! If you look at the comments on the Disney Parks blog, so many people are excited for this show, with a few others upset about missing Star Wars.

FWIW, I'm not even a Star Wars fan but the rest of my family is so I am bummed out for them. (But DH was the only one that knew about the show) I do feel like I can't tell my kids anything about what we might do on the trip because at this point anything can change!

I had just told DH last night that I would probably be tethered to my phone all weekend because it's middle of the month and Disney is due to release updated hours. He rolled his eyes and laughed.

And here I am, letting my kids watch movies all morning while I try to keep up with Disney. Now that I got our Princess FP's booked I need to go back and update all our TP's. Too much brain power! I think I need to go outside and exercise to try and get this craziness out of my head!

On the disney website calendar (believe it or not!) ;)
Thanks. Finally found it. It is showing at 9:00 on a day that HS closes at 7:00. lol! Hope this is correct because we have fantasmic at 7 & would love to just hop over to this afterword, instead of visiting HS two nights.

I was really hoping for Star Wars Fireworks but will be trying to attend the jingle-surprise show as a consolation prize.

You can add my wife and I to the list of folks saddened by not having Star Wars fireworks. It was one of the shows we were most looking forward to. On a positive note, I can now watch it on YouTube as I avoid watching videos of experiences I'm planning on doing...

Well, I feel like a total failure now. I should have known better than to talk about ANYTHING Disney with the family. I'm dreading telling them this news. :sad1:

So there is a fantasmic show at HS at 7pm but that is when the park closes. Guess they will be extending hours. If we have to plan 180 days ahead so should they!!!!

I think this is normal. Shops will be open but all other rides closed. Actually u can get in line right at 659pm and still be allowed to wait and ride. I wonder how many will choose fireworks vs fantasmic?
