Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I say park hop for sure. I don't think the price difference is that much.
Have you been to MVMCP before?
I think I'm going to go no hopper and use that extra cash for MVMP. It's $200 for the hopper for 3 people!! We didn't do the party last year because I couldn't justify keeping DD2 up that late at night. I think this way we could make it to the EMM then an early nap then MVMCP. I'm justifying the EMM bc she will be just tall enough to ride 7DMT.

If you haven't been to MVMCP and ditching park hopper will save you that much then I change my vote!! MVMCP is definitely something you should do at least once.

New Spreadsheet with NO hopper and MVMCP. It's still a work in progress. I'm a without any ADR at HS on 11/28. I changed my TP reservation finder to try and find a H&V or 50s prime time. I may change 50s to Brown Derby? I also am so torn about Fantasmic and Star Wars. I feel there is no way humanly possible to see them both... This is why its a work in progress. Thanks @Meeko5 for pumping me up about this spreadsheet. lol

I'm honored haha! It looks great :D

The only reasons a hopper is really adventageous during this party season is because the lack of nighttime shoes now, and MK closes pretty early most nights too. If you're night owls then the hopper is great. With young kids, a 7pm close then late meal = bedtime anyway! I don't think you'll regret choosing MVMCP over the hoppers, but if you decide once you're there you want them you can always add them on :)

So glad I found this thread, I hadn't even thought about the no need for a hopper this year. DS is 2 and naptime/bedtime routine is crucial! Time to talk to hubby about swapping hoppers for MVMCP! We decided a few months ago to skip MVMCP since it runs past bedtime, but I think one late night would be worth it for snow on mainstreet!

We are stuck with our hoppers for free dining. We only used the hoppers once last trip, but I like the flexibility, especially for evenings when MK closes early or late EMH. I also need to add a park day but will probably wait until I get there and activate my tickets early and just do it all at the same time.

That was us last trip - it was our first and we only hopped once to MK at night. We could definitely make do without them but since we have them I definitely plan to use them now!

My DH isn't sold on MVMCP anyway, since we aren't parade or character people. I'd love to see the snow on Main Street and the general party atmosphere, but not until my kids can hang until midnight for sure haha

The party was a bust for us. I'm glad we did it once, but I wouldn't pay that much money to do it again. The character lines were ridiculous so we didn't even get to do those. The boys fell asleep in the stroller and we were just done with the crowds so we left early.

Now the lights at HS last year....the boys loved that. I so wish they didn't end them.....

I'm hoping we see some of the xmas around the world at EP. And Santa. Those are on my wish list this year!

That makes me feel better about skipping it :)

I really need to look into this more too - I'm excited to have a few hours to dedicate to WS this trip and see all the holiday stuff!

So I just talked to one of my sisters and they are backing out. Their son is duel enrolled in high school and college and can't miss the school days. I totally understand but now I am worried that it will be a domino effect and the other will change their mind. Kinda freaking out:scared1: guess I am going to make some calls and making sure everyone else is holding steady. If I have ADRs for 13 but only need 10 does it help other people if I reduce the number? Opens another ADR for someone else?

It won't affect you if you show up with only 10, but if you call and they are able to drop those 3 off without you losing them it would be nice for others.

But if you can't drop them, just show up and tell them your party changed. Don't lose your ADRs over it for sure!

I would think that you should be able to just modify your reservation - perhaps you could post a list of the ones you will be reducing, and let folks PM with you when you modify to see if they can pick them up.

It's all in perspective of your needs. We stay at BC so Epcot and HS are walking distance. MK is 30m+ bus ride. I figured that we might just avoid going back to MK at night. DD is not a stroller nap kinda kid so we always have to go back to hotel. That being said the only nights that we were missing out were AK day because they closed so early and our last day we did MK on a party night. It was nice to just relax though. We watched Illuminations from BC and swam in the pool. I think that I would much rather spend the hopper $$ on MVMCP for sure.
We did one really late night in MK last year when DD was 2 (almost 3). She had terrible bags under her eyes and told my husband she just wanted to go to bed. But 10 months later she is still alive and well. It was on day 3 of trip. She recovered after a good nights rest. Same plan for this year but party night instead. The next day is HS so not to rushed to get there super early. We are most looking forward to evening shows. Fingers crossed for fireworks.
