Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Hello everyone! This my first post, I hope it is okay if I join in! My husband and I will be traveling from the Huntsville, AL area to Disney World from November 25th through Dec. 3rd. We will be with our four kids, ages 1 to 14 princess:princess::earsboy::earsgirl:, and we are staying in a 1 bedroom villa at OKW. We are also going to the MVMCP on November 29th. Last time we went to Disney World was in 2012, so we are all super excited. :mickeyjum
Yay!! Another family at OKW :) We will be in a 1 bedroom villa too. We are coming from TN :)

Just wanted to update that I got a call back after emailing Disney about changes to schedule under 60 days out for people, little notice for ending of MSEP, changes to fireworks schedule a month out, etc. I got a call again this afternoon from the same CM who left me a message.

The CM was nice enough but spent more time talking about how amazing the FW show is, how she is able to leave work to go catch nighttime entertainment, how she stumbled on the frozen fireworks one night. Literally just kept going on about it. Oh and how it's really not necessary to make ADRs at 180 days, if you're willing to "go with the flow". I just said well for those of us who DONT live in FL and can't "just go catch" shows whenever, or who are traveling with young kids, or don't like to "Wing it" at Disney that's not really feasible. She said of course I understand that, and I'll take this information into our meeting. We take guest comments very seriously and want to make it magical for everyone.

Mmmkay. Thanks for a whole lot of nothing but trying to making me feel silly for ever being frustrated :sad2:

Wow. She doesn't seem to have much of a clue of what it's like to be in our shoes, does she? Not that there's really much she can do about it, but she could have at least tried to see things from the perspective of a family that goes once/year or less.

Sorry you got a "less than happy" call back, Meeko. I got a totally awesome call...still not a lot they can do about the situation, but she was totally empathic to the frustration. I hung up feeling good.

The whole conversation was so bizarre. She launched into her several stories about her experience with nighttime shows at HS before really asking me what my concerns were, and then when I interjected with "oh that sounds great but..." She would cut back in with another of her stories. So weird.

I said something to the effect of "well I plan my dinners so far in advance because my 2yo needs to eat at a reasonable hour or it would be miserable for the guests around us" and she laughed and said "yeah I'm sure that's tough. We love eating late" :confused3

I was very nice, and not at all accusatory. I listened to her gloat for several minutes in fact lol. But man it was all so weird. I wasn't expecting anything but maybe some commiseration and a "we will pass along the concerns".

Also, @Meeko5 TP text didn't work and I only found the reservation they tried to send me by checking my email. The reservation they found didn't work with my plans so it didn't really matter, but I'm sad the texts have stopped working. :(

Man! Lucky you got it, but those text alerts were so nice. I hope they get it fixed!

Woohoo! I just scored an ADR for H&V for Saturday 12/3 for 4 people! Now if I can just find another one for the remaining 2 people in my party we'll be set. Easier said than done, but oh well.
Have you tried going in to your MDE and just changing the reservation to include 2 more people? Have no idea if this would work, but maybe.... :)

Does anyone have any experience removing people from reservations? I appears I will need to remove my FIL and MIL. The room is in our name, but when I try to remove them online it tries to remove the free dining. I will also need to remove them from our CRT reservation. Will a CM be able to edit these w/o losing the promo and issue a refund for the pre-pay meal without losing our time?

It sounds like you'll need to call to be sure everything is taken care of properly. Good luck!

This reminds me of the haircut I got on Friday. What should have been a 45 minute appt was more like 90 minutes because the stylist was super chatty and told me WAY too much about herself. I almost picked DD up too late from school, even though I'd built in PLENTY of time. Sheesh.

Just wanted to say hi to my fellow after-Thanksgiving goers: I'm 11/28 - 12/3 for my first solo trip (staying at POFQ) and first time back since 2005. Hooray! It's nice to meet everyone. :)

Hello and welcome to the party! :welcome:

I added you to the roll call :)
