Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Shannon from WDW prep loves garden grill. I'm pretty sure from listening to her podcast on character meals that the characters are the same for breakfast/lunch/dinner. I have breakfast ADR. DD really likes Chip and Dale.
We are doing a breakfast on this trip, too.

For those doing EMM what your FP strategy for that day?

I have no clue... actually i really have no clue with all the 60 plus FP-. Last time we were in Disney they still had paper vouchers from the kiosks.

I think I'm more stressed about the FP booking than ADR
We are doing Early Morning Magic Nov. 27. We are also doing MVMCP the same night. Our plan is to hit Fantasyland during EMM, then Frontierland when the park opens, then leave MK until late afternoon or early evening. I think I am going to book our FP+ for during the party.

Edit: Adventureland changed to Frontierland. My bad

Sounds like my husband. Although I'm doing a conference while I'm there so we don't get to the parks until later in the am. :(

Good news is FPP makes it easier to arrive later and at least have 3 guaranteed short waits :)

Last year I did not fully utilize my FP+. Partly because of DD having to go back and take a nap at hotel. That meant a long trip from MK to Beach Club and back every night. Then DD wasn't tall enough for 7DMT and was very upset about it so I gave up our FP to hopefully help someone else out. I ended up using FP for Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion, & Kilimanjaro Safari. I think the rest of the rides we flew by the seat of our pants. I would look at wait times for area we were in and pick a ride that had less than a 20m wait. I knew that a grumpy anti DH and wild 2 year old DD would make for an unpleasant trip. The worst part of "waiting" was trying to find out where a cast member put our stroller. It took what seemed like forever. Why must they rearrange strollers?!?!?!

Oh no, I feel like this may be my future... DS2 may need his nap and I don't know how he would do in lines :scared:

The age old question....
CRT or Akershus?

I already have a ADR for both. Just trying to decide if they are both worth it. We did CRT last year. The castle was really cool. Our waiter was initially rude but my husband gently reminded him that we paid a lot of money, I fought so hard to get that ADR and it was our first time at WDW. It actually went "It must be really challenging to be happy all the time when you work at Disney. You seem like you're having one of those days." He apologized and quickly changed his attitude. We skipped Akershus last year. Mostly because DD isn't really that into princesses. She has her moments of being girly but is not that kid that has her character dresses packed. As of this very second we are watching Pan and she is very upset that Captain Hook is being chased by Tick Tock. She loves a villain. Part of me wants to try Akershus just to say we did something different.

If you've done one, I would try the other! We did them both on the same trip - it was a bit much (princess overload!!), but we enjoyed them both!

It was not bad at all. You know your kid best. We tried to do a stroller nap. It went terrible. Luckily we were around the American pavilion in Epcot. We just detoured back to Beach Club. There was one night that we stayed out WAY too late. There was no toddler meltdowns but DH was tired and upset. When DD grabbed him and said she just wanted to go to bed that was the breaking point. We just made sure to make it reasonable bedtimes after that. DH made the point that she most likely wouldn't remember much of the trip. We just needed to have fun and he would come back again one day. Little did he know we would be going back the very next year! I can say that we did have a good time. There was things that we missed but all in all it was a great time.

My almost 2 yo last trip slept in his stroller every day like a dream, and he won't even sit in a stroller at home. I was so nervous about it, but he did awesome. Even better once we bought a clip on fan for him :)

Did you know you can oder custom cupcakes for any TS in MK? For $8.50!

I found these snow white, Cinderella and a prince... I guess they also do Ariel and Bella. Email for custom cakes

wdw.magickingdomcakes@disney.com

I found this info on the cake chatter thread.... the fist post has all the info for custom cakes.

I think I'm gaining weight just looking at all the WDW food and dessert options.

I got an alert for an earlier H&V Minnie dinner and snagged it, got SO excited because I knew we needed earlier time to make the SW fireworks. Yay!!!

...then I remembered the SW fireworks likely won't be on that day now. UGH.

What date and time?? I've been losing hope. :(

Lucky!! I've got an alert set up for an earlier time for my H&V, hopefully my alert is coming soon! Hopefully the fireworks will cooperate for you.

I have a 3:10 fantasmic and a 5 something. I think we are keeping the early one whether we do fantasmic or not.

We will be doing EMH that day, so I'm thinking earlier will be better for us. We can call it an early night or hop to Epctor for illuminations later on if we are feeling up to it.

Plus I'm thinking with buffet food the earlier the better right? Lol

I'm hopeful and still worried but I guess we would never know until we get there. We do ok when we go out on a day to day basis and he does fall asleep in his stroller. He does have meltdowns sometimes but a small diversion usually stops it... But with the stimulation at WDW I'm not sure and therefore worried. We're doing the Xmas party too so I would really need to let him rest up that afternoon! :) thank you both for the encouraging words! By the way, since both of you took your kids at 2, did you bring potty seats?? How did you handle that or were they potty trained already?

11/27 (sun) - I now have a 3:10 and a 5:10 to decide between.

Yes! We had an early reservation last year and the food was hot and fresh, not crowded and we didn't have to wait past our ADR time to be seated.
