Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

My problems with getting the ADR's I want are... well... I about can't take this! I'm just so frustrated right now I could scream! But I don't like to scream in the house so instead I went over to TP and created a profile for my dh and then set up two more ADR searches with alerts going to my cell. Hope it works!

Whatcha looking for?

I was thinking about making some shirts for the girls to wear but I have never done that before. If you have made shirts how did you do it?

Whatcha looking for?

I have H&V currently on 12/1 (Th) but now we've decided to try for MVMCP that night instead. I need to replace that dinner on another night! I'm hoping for 11/28 (Mon) early dinner (like, before 5) so we have plenty of time to get our spots for the fireworks, but I'd also take one on 12/3 (Sat) early or possibly even 11/30, 12/2, 12/4, 12/5, or 12/6!!! lol That last list of dates are all times we could fairly easily hop to DHS for the meal and then we would just take in whatever they have for evening activities. So pretty much ANY night from 11/28-12/6 EXCEPT the one night I actually have a reservation there! Gah!

Anyway, I'm also looking for 50's Prime Time on a couple days and Whispering Canyon on 11/29 if I can get something on the early side. H&V is my nemesis right now though. The thing is, it's not as if I think the meal will be spectacular or anything like that, it's just that it's a buffet in Hollywood Studios and none of us care for the Disney Jr. characters so we would rather do the dinner. It's fairly low on my list as far as meals I'm looking forward to, but it's a great value on the DDP and it would fit in really well with our touring plans if we could get an early-ish seating. Probably the most frustrating thing though, is how little availability there is AT ALL in DHS the whole week! I can find a scattered reservation at HBD or MM once in awhile or if I switch us to a party of 4 I can sometimes spot something at 50's but that's it. I know, I know, it's all free dining, I do get it. It just doesn't make it much less frustrating. I'm kicking myself over letting go of a Saturday night H&V reservation I had early on. Thus, I won't be letting my Thursday one go until I have secured the replacement. ;)

I have a Saturday 5:35 H&V I'm going to let go if you end up wanting it!

It's for 3? I might try to snap it up if you do let it go, thinking I can make it into a reservation for 4 and then I'd just need one for 2... Hmm...:scratchin

EDIT: Oh duh! You're a party of 4! Yes, that would be fantastic!

Spending the afternoon working on my Fastpass plan! Here's the deal - will be me, DH, DD4 (who should be 40 inches - 1/2 inch to go!) and DS1. Q: Is it better/faster for DH and I to use the Single Rider line for the rides that have it (which neither kid is tall enough to ride), or a combo of FP and Rider Switch? I've been reading about getting the most out of FP by getting FP for one adult/one child and then Rider Switching - tips? Does that mean that DS1 potentially would get/use only one or two FP? Or get him his three and let one or two be unused so we can all potentially get a 4th FP later in the day? Am I making ANY sense lol?

Don't forget a heeled shoe for DD4. My DD3 is 37.5" now. With her Mini Melissa ballet shoes she is 38". No hope of making 40" in the next 2 months though.

38" is the only reason that I'm considering EMM. Last year she was bummed she couldn't ride 7DMT. With that being the only roller coaster besides Barnstormer I think that it may be worth a special mommy/daughter morning to ride 7DMT as many times as we can fit into an hour. We could hit Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh at the last minute then get to see princesses with a hopefully shorter wait as the park opens. That should take care of all the longer ride waits that DH won't want to be bothered with. :mickeyjum

I think that sounds awesome!!

I'm kinda nervous my youngest won't like the dark rides this year - "I'm scared" is his new thing. He says he's scared of everything now. I sure hope he surprises me and loves them again!

If I can get a good picture in front of the castle like last year, I'd like to do something christmas-y for our cards. Maybe I'll just get plan green and red shirts for us all and throw a small iron on mickey head on them. Matching family shirts aren't really something I love, nor could get DH to do. But a subtle icon and coordinating colors I could probably get away with.

I need to figure all that out and borrow my friend's Cricut again. I was going to make decals for the magic bands too and still havent!

We have plenty of shirts too but I picked up some $3 blank sweatshirts at Walmart just to have around, and I got them home and decided they needed to be Disney sweatshirts. I was browsing Etsy for vinyl iron-on patches but that's the type of thing a Cricut can do, right? I'm not sure which would be more cost-effective - my sister has a Cricut I could probably use. I suppose if I do something for the kids I should make some for DH and I as well...

Last time I got some really cute iron-ons from an Etsy seller who is not around anymore. :( They were all slightly different but we put them on the same color shirts, it turned out cute. This time I was going to try making tie-dye Mickey shirts but I think I might be running out of time for that.

Also - what kind of decals can you make for the magic bands with the Cricut? Sounds cool!

Have you checked out the CreativeDISigners thread on the Disboards? Lots of very talented people who offer free designs for other disboarders. Some will even customize. All for free.

Two words. Cowboy Boots.

I'm hoping her beloved Crocs will boost her enough, if she needs it by then - she's 39.5" barefoot, with 2+ months to grow. Meanwhile, I'm trying to convince her that she needs to eat all her veggies so she can stretch out before vacation!!!

The heat tranfer vinyl is about $10-$12 for a 12x19" piece - from that one piece you can cut a few things, depending on size. but if you want several colors the vinyl investment for a 1x project might be more than just buying them separately on etsy. It all depends on what you want. The crcut should have no trouble cutting the vinyl as long as it's a sharp blade :)

I'm going to just make simple peel and stick decals with regular vinyl for the magic bands. tiny BB8, mickey head, maybe a monorail outline if I can find one for my littlest since he's obsessed with it haha.

these are cute too!

I think you need an inversion table - hang her upside down to really stretch those vertebrae :rotfl:

My DS7 is 48" at home barefoot, but the doctor measured his as 47.5" barefoot in june. He should have no issues with shoes on, but I'm scared the height sticks are going to be off and then he will be absoltely devastated. Whenever someone asks how tall he is his answer is "48" - tall enough for rockin rollercoaster!"
