Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Thanks everyone for the well
Wishes - I'm home now. Possible dehydration and some mild anemia that caused my symptoms but good news - blood clots are GONE! My repeat CT scan was totally clear. Woohoo! Now I can stop worrying about that at least!

So glad you got good news!

All you MVMCP people are starting to make me think I need to go haha. I've never done any extras in all my trips as a kid and adult. So tempting!

@BDFmom did you ever find someone to share you fireworks cruise with?

@JamieOak i had EMM booked at MK and my DH talked me out of it. I think it sounds amazing and you totally should do it!

I'm still really on the fence about the SW dessert party. Gah it's too hard to choose with all the fun stuff, especially when Disney 2 years in a row is already so crazy haha.

OK... I actually just got off the phone with Disney and switched to AKL for our trip (same dates, etc.). I am OVER THE MOON excited! It's where I wanted to stay all along...and yes, it will cost more, but this will likely be our last Disney trip for a while. And DD is such an animal lover - she is going to flip. I am thinking maybe we won't tell her we have switched resorts until we get there (since I can't keep the whole trip a secret).

OMG. So excited.

@JamieOak Yay for the extra day! And 12/1 party.... that's our night! More people to hold spots :p

We're doing EMM on 11/29.... my kids are super pumped!

Woo hoo! That is the day I am leaning towards for EMM too! Currently that's our Wild Africa Trek at 8am, but I think that would be easy enough to reschedule to another day. My only concern is 11/29 is when Epcot is open until 11:30 and I'm excited for that. EMM in the AM + PM EMH is going to make for a loooong day. We would definitely need a break in between parks to recharge. But the only other option is to wait until our very last park day on 12/4 and that just doesn't seem like a good flow. Do you think it's better to have EMM be our first time in MK, or better to do after we've already visited the park beforehand? I'm thinking it would be OK to do it as our first time in MK.

I'm excited to get home from work and call Disney to start actually making changes. Well after I do all the farm chores.

Is anyone working on their FP reservation planning? It's my first time to work with FP and haven't been to DW for 10+ years. It is much harder than dining reservation! Any suggestions on my following FP plans?

11/29 MK - want to get FP for space mountain, Buzz Lightyear and 7 Dwarfs or Peter Pan. We have lunch at BOG at 12:50pm.
12/2 MK - want to get FP for Pirate of Carribean, Haunted Mansion and 7 Dwarfs or Peter Pan. We have breakfast at BOG at 940am.

What time should I make for those rides? 11/29 is open at 9am and 12/2 is open at 8am. I don't think we will be there at rope drop so we won't take advantage of 1st hours after opening.

Any suggestions? TIA!

Awesome! I was originally set on the Wilderness Lodge villas, but after hearing of the major construction I changed my mind. Then I was planning a split stay between Beach Club and Animal Kingdom! I wanted the convenience of staying in the Epcot area, but I'm also an animal lover and wanted to check that out. Then I waited too long to book and nothing was available! I guess you could say I "settled" for BWV, but I'm still super excited.

AKL is the one resort that I can't quite figure out if we can stop over and see it sometime during our trip, without it being too much of a hassle. I plan to check out the Epcot area resorts, monorail resorts, and the WL of course.

Ok since so much time has passed since we started this thread and people now have a better sense of their plans do you guys want me to add a list to the first post of who, dates, and maybe which resort? Might be a fun way to see who is where and when in case anyone wants to coordinate meets/exchanges of anything/etc?? If you're interested add a post here and I'll go add whoever wants to be added :)

Me, dh, our 2 boys (4 and 6)
11/25 Beach Club
11/26-11/30 Caribbean Beach

We had no issue booking 7DMT on our MK days at 60 days out last trip. I would recommend booking those MK days first and getting that fastpasses right away, then going back and adding the others since now you book 1 at a time instead of all 3.

Same applies for FEA at Epcot - book it first and then the rest. You'll have no issues with all the other rides :)

We did FP starting at 9:30 out MK days, then each hour after. There is the best chance of 4th + at MK if you use yours early. Worked great for us so I plan to do that again.

Since each FP reservation is an hour apart, how many rides can you actually squeeze in between FP rides? At least 1-2 rides, right? For example, if space mountain FP at 10am, will we have time to go to Monsters Inc and Stitich's great escape before Buzz Lightyear at 11am?

Totally depends on time and crowds, but if your space FP is from 10-11 and buzz from 11-12 you should have no issues with stitch and monsters inc then. Especially if you do space at the beginning of the FP time, you could do as much in that time as allowed and then tap into the FP at buzz at the very end of your FP window near noon.

I didn't realized the FP window is one hour long. I thought it's only like 15-20 min. That's great. I was worrying to make 9am FP since I am not sure if we can be there early enough. With FP, is it really only 15-20 min. wait even for super popular rides like 7 dwarf?

Has he opened it up? Ours went out one year because it had been invaded by hordes of ants. Once we cleaned them out and reset stuff, it was okay.

Chipmunks chewed thru some wiring on ours one year. That was thankfully an inexpensive fix! @Iowamomof4 i hope it's something easy and cheap!

It was a pressure switch and we only had to pay for the service call! :D The humidity was really getting to us but we're on our way back to normal now. Total bill: under $100. Phew! Back to Disney planning. :teacher: :surfweb: :dance3:

Yep! It's a 1 hour window and they can't overlap - we never waited more than 10 min with a FP for anything. Most of the time we were on within a minute or two.

If you start your FP at 9:30, you have until 10:30 to tap thru the line. Great for flexibility of hopping in nearby short lines between FP times :)

Just have to ask because you mentioned it... are you familiar with Stitch's Great Escape?
